6. Compass

Chapter 6.

SUMEDH AND PRAJAKTA were walking behind the Captain.

"By the way, where are we going?" Prajakta asked as they were walking through a very crowded street.

"We are going to my ship" Jack responded. "Why?" She asked. Jack stopped and looked at her with raised eyebrows.

"Don't ask questions! It is already a big miracle that I am helping you!" He said and started walking again.

Soon they reached the place where they found the wanted poster of the Pirate. Jack stopped again looking at the poster and sighed.

"Oh God! Not again!! Becket will never leave me alone for once!" He said ripping off the wall the poster. He made a ball of it and threw it away.

Prajakta looked at Sumedh with a question mark on her face. Sumedh rolled his eyes. "Lord Becket, East-India Company ka leader he (Lord Becket, he is East-Inda Company's leader)" he said.

They finally reached the spot where the two found themselves fainted.

The entered the Black Pearl. It was more stunning in the reality than in the film. Everyone was busy in work. They entered Jack's cabin that had a golden plate on the door with 'Captain's Cabin' written on it.

The cabin was quite simple. There was a big desk on which empty bottles of rum and some parchment of papers laid, some chairs, loads of maps were laying on the floor, a wardrobe and a single bed in the corner of the room.

Jack sat on his chair and the two sat opposite him. The Captain took out what looked like an old compass.

"This might help" he mumbled more to himself than the two sitting infront of him.

"How is a compass meant to help us Captain?" Prajakta asked pointing to the compass.

"This is not just a normal compass Praju! This compass is special. It points to the thing that you want most in the world" Sumedh explained before Jack could open his mouth. Jack looked at him with suspicious eyes.

"How did you know that?" He asked. "Uh-mm-well..." he stammered.

'Kyu phasa leta he apne ap ko tu Sumedh?! (Why do you always get yourself into trouble Sumedh?!)' He mentally asked.

"It doesn't matter! Just use it now ok? I don't have time!" Jack said after some time. Sumedh nodded as Jack passed the compass to Sumedh. He opened the cap and the needle started spinning crazily. There was no south, north, east or west written on it.

Finally after a bit it stopped and it pointed towards the man standing in front.

"Oops!" He said quickly closing it before Jack could see what it was pointing at. It was Sumedh's biggest desire to meet the man in front of him.

"Prajakta, tum try karo. Bandana toh tumhari best friend he na? Tumhe uski salamati se zada kuch nhi chahiye hoga! (Prajakta, try it. Bandana is your best friend, isn't it? You wouldn't want anything more than her being safe)" He said handing the compass to Prajakta. She nodded. She was quite sure that it will directly point to where Bandana was, because she was deadly worried about her dear friend.

Without thinking another time she opened the compass and, just as it happened before, the needle started spinning... but this time it stopped more quickly.

It pointed to her left. Jack looked at it and thought very hard.

"Looks like we have to go that way" Jack said rubbing his chin."So you will take us there?!" Sumedh asked excitedly.

"Yes" he replied. "Oh my god! Thank you so much Captain!" He said.

***********

Rohit was still cleaning the dirty ship. He was so desperate to get out of there and find his friends, but he couldn't... the ship was in the middle of the sea. He was so tired by the night.

"When can we go to sleep?" he asked the same man to whom he asked where they were.

"When the Captain says that we can" he simply said. Rohit sighed. He didn't want to stay here... he wanted to go home.

"Who's the Captain of the ship anyways?" Rohit asked after a bit. "Davy Jones... you gotta stay a bit alert with him, he is the strongest pirate of all the times. All the pirates fear of him" He said.

Rohit didn't give a damn about Davy Jones, at the moment. He was too worried about his friends.

"By the way, I am Rohit Saraf" he introduced himself to the man next to him and extended a hand.

"Nice to meet you... Roger Tripod" Roger shoke Rohit's hand. They continued to work without talking much.

Suddenly, the man that 'woke' Rohit up came in front of them and announced that they can go to bed.

Exhausted, the 19 year old boy followed the crew, without knowing where to go.

They climbed down the stairs that led to the bottom of the ship. They entered a big room. The only source of light were the candles.

There were loads of white hammocks hanging from one wall to another.

"Where are the beds, Roger?" Rohit asked yawning.

"There are no beds mate. We sleep on these hammocks... only the Captain can sleep on a bed" Roger laughed.

Rohit didn't have any objections because he was very tired to argue. He choose the hammock in the corner and laid in it. It wasn't that confortable but sleep took over him before he could ever realise.
