"What's wrong with you?" Alice asked me the next morning. It was Saturday, so we could finally hang out, something we hadn't done since our last argument.

"I don't understand," I lied.

"Why are you taking so  many precautions? It's not like you," Alice asked.

"I don't want to mess up again because if we do, we're done, all  of us," I explained.

"That makes sense, but I think there's more going on with you."

"There's nothing going on."

"Yes there is! Sarah, I've known you for nine years and I know when something's up, so please, tell me," Alice begged.

"It's nothing...I swear," I said carefully. Alice sighed and looked at me defiantly.

"Why can't you tell me? I'm your BFF! We share everything with each other!" I gave her a plain look so she couldn't tell what I was thinking about. "Oh my gosh! It's about Peter, isn't it?" Alice figured it out.

"I don't want to talk about it right now," I mumbled.

"Fine, keep your secrets then," Alice said defensively.

"Alice," I started.

"No, no, it's fine. You need time to accept whatever the heck happened between the two of you and when you're ready to talk about it, I'll be there, so take your time," Alice said.

"Before you go, when do you think we should do this?" I asked her.

"What time were you thinking would be good?"

"I was thinking we should do it before dinner tomorrow night so nobody will be around when we do it. We can eat later, eat before, or not eat at all," I told her.

"Wouldn't that be obvious though? No matter which way we do it, we'll all be gone," Alice pointed out.

"Then...we'll all go to dinner at the same time, leave at different times, and meet up at my quarters," I said, coming up with a plan in thirty seconds.

"We're really going to do this?" Katie asked nervously.

"Yeah, why? Are you scared ?" Max teased. Katie gave him the "look."

"Of course I am because like, if we got caught, I'm totally toast and my entire reputation is ruined!"

"You need to relax, besides, I'll be right next to you to the entire time," Max reminded her.

"Ok, ok," Katie told herself as she took several deep breaths.

"Everyone knows the plan, so...don't mess up," I said.

"And remember our plan B and C, in case something happens," Max added.

"I really hope this works," Vidia said as she loaded her pockets with gadgets.

"Is everyone in position?" Alice's voice asked over the earpieces.

"Yep," we answered, almost in unison.

"We only have a three minute window to get into the hallways before the Commandos start to come back," Max said.

"I'm in my hallway; it's clear," I said.

"Walk all the way down the hallway and take a right," Alice instructed me.

"Vidia, if a Commando starts to come my way, you'll need to distract them with something," I told her.

"Don't worry, I've got some tricks up my sleeve," Vidia reassured me.

"Max placed a few traps. They'll be distracted way  before they even get to Vidia or Katie's location," Alice said.

"Oh? When did you have time to do that?" I asked.

"I had to fix a fews things after we came up with the plan and I figured their locations were perfect for pranks. They won't know what hit them!" Max exclaimed.

"Alice, where do I need to go now?"

"That shouldn't be a problem, should it? Vidia and Katie have it covered," I asked.

"They're both still busy with distractions, but Max isn't where he can get to you,"Alice pointed out.

"Alice, this is what I was trying to tell all of you back at the meeting this morning, we have to plan for things like this," I told her as I changed my direction.

"I know, but there's no way you could've known those Commandos were going to come around."

"Maybe not, but it's better to be safe than sorry," I argued.

"They're coming right at you! Get out of there!" Alice yelled.

"Is there anywhere I can go?" I asked worriedly.

"Just...use our plan B exit route," she answered. I tried to inconspicuously make it to the other side of the hallway to one of the workrooms that had an exit in the back, but I was too swift.

"Oh no! Alice, they saw me and they're coming fast," I informed her.

"Just go with plan B and you'll be fine," Alice attempted to reassure me. I slipped into the workroom feeling like I had been spotted and almost sighed with relief when they didn't follow me in. "Good, get out the other exit and take the long way back to headquarters." I was out the other door and well on my way when I rounded the corner to find Agent Maria Hill herself waiting for me. I gasped and stopped, startled in my tracks.

"What's the hurry Cadet Adams?" Agent Hill asked smugly with her hands on her hips.

(Another short chapter, but I wanted to keep things interesting with a cliff hanger)
