Moody Feelings

"ALL RIGHT! THAT'S ENOUGH YOU TWO!" It was only then that I saw the stream of tears on Alice's face and wished that I could've taken everything back.

"GO BACK TO YOUR QUARTERS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!" Commander Howlett barked.

"Alice," I tried to be cautious, but she shook her head sadly and turned the other way. "I'M SORRY!" Commander Howlett pushed me into my room and closed the door.

"What were you thinking?" he asked angrily.

"I honestly didn't know what I was thinking!" I said truthfully.

"Going off on your friend like that? Arguing in front of everyone? Were you trying  to make a scene?"

"No," I answered weakly. "I don't know what came over me! Alice came to talk to me about you," I admitted, which startled Howlett out of being mad at me, "and I...she...we went too far. I shouldn't have said half of what I did, but Alice had no right to bring up the past," I explained as I turned away from him and hugged myself. I was trying to hold back the angry tears.

"Is it true? Did your boyfriend really do that to you?" Commander Howlett asked softly.

"I don't want to talk about it," I answered vehemently.

"If-" he started, but I raised my hand to cut him off.

"I think you should leave," I said shakily as the tears slowly started to come.

"Sarah, I-"

"I said you should go." Commander Howlett hesitantly glanced back on his way out the door. "I am so  stupid!" I scolded myself once he was gone. A rush of anger washed over me and I didn't know what to do with myself or how to release any of it. I wanted to punch something, so I calmed down a little before heading to the Training Room. I got several startled stares along the way and I wasn't overly nice to the few people who asked if I was ok. I rounded the corner in such a flurry, that I didn't see Max until after we had bumped shoulders.

"Get outta my way!" I said sternly.

"Gosh, what happened to you?" he asked concerned.

"You don't want to know," I answered.

It felt good to punch something, anything really. I kept punching well past dinner time and had no desire of stopping, even after everyone had cleared out for the night. Eventually, I punched the bag hard enough that it came back to hit me. Finally satisfied, drenched in sweat, and out of breath, I desperately gulped down 3 water bottles and was on my fourth when someone lazily clapped their hands behind me.

"Well done Adams, I'm impressed! I mean really, if I didn't think you had it in you, I certainly do now. I'm just curious to know what got you that worked up. What was it? Vidia taking too much control? Katie's constantly running mouth? Or perhaps it was-" Before I had time to think, I stood up and laid him flat on the ground with one of the stunt moves that I'd been working on. Of course, it was Alex, but I didn't care who the heck it was.

"I am not  in the mood for this right now," I said annoyed. Alex moaned as I threw my empty water bottles in the recycling bin as hard as I could. Max and Katie stopped as they saw me come out in a mood. I shook my head and gave them that "don't you dare" look as I headed back down the hall.

I took a nice long, hot, steamy shower, and although it made me feel better, I was worried that I would get a fever if I didn't cool down fast. I knew where they kept the soda around here, and believe me when I say that it's typically well hidden. I didn't bother getting a cup, I just needed some soda and dank straight from the bottle, taking what I did finish off with me. I tossed and turned all night. Yet again, the events from my dream had happened.

The following morning wasn't much better. Alice and I sat on opposite sides of the table and refused to make eye contact. "What's up with the two of you? Why aren't you interacting with each other? Did something like, happen?" Katie asked seriously.

"I don't know, maybe you should ask Sarah," Alice answered coldly, giving me an icy glare. I guiltily jabbed at my food. I knew Alice was mad and there was nothing I could do about it.

"We got into an argument yesterday," I slowly announced without looking up.

"Oh?" Max said. They all looked at us expectantly, but nothing happened.

"What do you expect me to do? Say sorry when it wasn't even my fault?" Alice asked angrily.

"Not your fault? You were the one that went too far!" I accused her.

" went too far? How about when you said that you didn't need my help, hmm?" The others gasped. I was hoping they wouldn't find out this way, but some things can't be helped.

"You said what?!" Vidia asked shocked.

"I didn't mean it Alice, I was only fed up," I apologized.

"I accept your apology, but it still doesn't change anything," Alice pointed out.

"Do we need to leave and let you talk a few things out?" Max asked politely.

"No," Alice and I said in unison giving each other equally chilling looks.

"On a 'slightly' better note, I have some news," Vidia changed the topic, "I won't be seeing you guys very much from now on."

"What do you mean? We're like, the bestest of friends. We all have to stick together," Katie said.

"I have to change a few things if I ever want to become a real  Commander," Vidia answered.

"Good luck with that now," Max muttered. Katie gave him an annoyed glance.

"What's going to happen to us now?" I asked.

"I don't know, but I hope it's for the better and not the worst," Alice said. We all agreed and ate the rest of our breakfast in silence.

(Another short chapter, but I didn't want to try to break up any of the drama from the last chapter ;)
