Day 12 (12th June 2020) : Favourite TV series

My favourite TV series is one other than Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai. Just like Naina even I feel in love with the show at first sight.

There are a lot of logical reasons why I love the show besides being a hopeless fangirl of the show, Samaina and Randeep.

⚡A beautiful show with deep characterisation. It is not like the usual school love stories which are too cheesy or clingy, but with the freshness of love and the feel of pure love (masoom nirdosh dosti).

⚡Have you ever seen a show where the leads display unconditional love just by their emotions and with minimum physical contact? Yes, we all did crave for their physical intimacy but there is no match for their love.

⚡An important point is the development of characters. The characters were kept realistic, their highs and lows, their strengths and faults were all kept in close relation with reality. The characters weren't exactly black or white, but grey with their own goodness and mistakes. You can take any character and you will find both of these traits. For example taking Chachaji's character, the amount of love and support he shows towards Naina, but on the other hand during Pooja di's wedding he was miffed with Bela chachi. That's how people are in real life, they have their own good and bad.

⚡The story was developed without any unnecessary leap but with smooth transition from the school to the marriage and finally their career. They touched upon all the important growth in their life in the perfect manner and with the perfect pace.

⚡Make up and costumes were also complimented with reality. No heavy make up and no over fancy dress. Even their houses were exactly depicted according to their budget. Otherwise in other shows middle class families will have big bunglows.

⚡The acting was top notch. Ashi and Randeep did an amazing job, and along with them even the other cast and crew were amazing. Even now I get goosebumps watching certain episodes, the hospital confession, Sameer and chacha ji's talk, Bela chachi literally begging in front of taiji and tauji for Naina. These scenes showed the depth of emotions that directly touched us.

⚡The most important point is that they taught wnat true love really is. It is not something that is bound with materialistic pleasures or physical attraction. It crossed all those boundaries and dwelled into soul connection. Never did their love for each other reduce, it only increased and became deeper with time. They had a holistic relation and completed each other. They completed each other and found the unconditional love that both their hearts craved since childhood.

⚡Last but not the least, the screen burning chemistry. From Dil Deewaana when they bumped into each other for the first time to Tip Tip Barsa Pani's rain romance, their chemistry never wavered. Their fingers without even touching caused sparks, a simple handhold broke millions of butterflies and lets not talk about Raat Baaki. The restlessness, the excitement and the shyness of that sequence was portrayed so well.

Samaina personified love, and Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai personifies a complete and perfect show. I don't know if ITV will ever produce a such a piece again.
