Death's Door
Papyrus
I was so worried about my brother. I was worried about my father. After Sans sleep waking episode he'd become distant from.. everyone. He still talked to them, if anyone started a conversation. He'd started out normal enough. Then he started avoiding Frisk. Then he started avoiding all the children. He looked so tired, so depressed, sleeping more during the day then at at night. He stopped working. Father was the opposite, throwing himself into his work. He often times didn't return home and whenever he was home, he avoided EVERYONE. Especially Sans and I. He'd said it was for the best. I can't understand why. I finished washing the dishes from dinner. "I'M GOING TO BED. I HAVE WORK TOMORROW." I bid everyone goodnight.
Undyne
"You don't think he'll start acting distant.. do you?" I asked. "I- I don't know.. th-this whole thing is strange.. Dr. Gaster locked me out of the lab.."
"Seriously? How are you supposed to work?" Alphys shrugged, fidgeting with her claws. "I fear that that blast had done more to those skeletons than we realize." Toriel commented.
Papyrus
I have never been in this snowy area before, but the puzzles have been fun! Though Frisk didn't seem to be having fun.. they weren't talking at all and seemed very unlike themselves. Their gait was slow and a strange powder covered their hands and clothes. It gave me a bad feeling, but I had the utmost confidence that they were simply having an off day. Frisk would never hurt anyone, after all!
Alphys
"I-I think so t-too.. they didn't start acting out until a-after the blast. B-but all the tests I-I've run showed no r-results.." I explained. "I-I don't know what else to do." Undyne hugged me, making me blush. "You're the smartest monster I know. You've got this!"
"N-no way.. d-doctor Gaster is way s-smarter.. h-he's p-probably trying to figure th-this out himself."
"Not in my eyes. You are WAY smarter than some old bag of bones!"
"It's rude to talk about someone who's listening." Gaster swept in, grabbing baking soda. "I'm borrowing this." Then he left. Undyne was confused. "What does he need BAKING SODA for?"
"P-probably running some tests.." What IS he doing?
Papyrus
Was it just me or were their fewer monsters around? Sans was acting just as weird and lazy as he was outside my dream. I, the great Papyrus, was aware that I was dreaming. It's such a strange dream at that. I wasn't in control at all! I have know clue where I am, yet I know every inch of it. Frisk disappeared awhile ago. I felt like they weren't doing anything good.. that maybe they were why the monsters were disappearing.. but.. they'd never harm anyone.. right?
Toriel
I am concerned with all that's happening. Was there a way I could have prevented whatever it was they were testing? Should I have asked Asgore to forbade them from doing potentially life altering tests? What were those three even working on? "Alphys."
"Y-yes?"
"What were you testing on that day?" I asked, trying to sound generally curious instead of demeaning. "O-oh.. uh.. t-time space machine.."
"Time space machine?" Undyne asked. "I-it was a machine t-to help us glimpse into other timelines.. other dimensions.." Oh my. "And.. this didn't concern any of you at all?"
"S-sans was against it.. said he'd join to make sure Gaster didn't do anything stupid.." She looked down. Yet stupid things have been done and two of three skeletons were affected.
Papyrus
Frisk and I were facing off. Why were they doing this?! I blocked their attack. "PLEASE HUMAN! I DO NOT WISH TO FIGHT! YOU CAN CHANGE! I SWEAR!" Still, I sent out some attacks. They weaved through them like they'd fought this battle before a million times. I tried to persuade them, tried to bring them on the right path, but in the end..
Frisk
I couldn't sleep. First Sans, now Gaster. What was going on? What did they know? Was Papyrus next? He'd always been unaware in every timeline, but there was always that possibly. All I want is a happy ending with no depressed Sans, Gaster as a great dad, and Papyrus.. well Papyrus was already perfect. Was that so hard to ask for?
Papyrus
I tried to calm my panicked breathing. They- they'd really just killed me. I knew it was a dream, but still. It'd felt so real.. was.. was this what was affecting Sans and dad? These nightmares? Perhaps it was about time the three of us had a family chat. Then we could confront Frisk and get some answers. This cannot be allowed to continue.
