One day at the beach,
a small wave came.
No one noticed as it drifted away.
The next day, another wave came.
And no one noticed as it drifted away.
Every day there was a wave
and every day it drifted farther away.

And no one noticed until the beach was dry.

But then, a tsunami came
And many people drowned that day.
And everyone noticed as it drifted away.
They shouted profanities at it, for the wave
had drowned their loved ones.
Maybe this could have been prevented
if they had seen the signs.
