My First Sword Fight
Jack and I continued walking and searching for a jeweler merchant would would have a small necklace with a sapphire jewel like Jack insisted, because it was my real name, but it was a subtle hint. Jack and I occasionally shared a laugh when I'd walk up to a hat merchant to see if they might have a duplicate of my fathers hat, and then be disappointed. I finally bought Jack a hat to replace his own and he liked it better then his original. I really didn't mind so much that I couldn't find a duplicate, but all Jack knows is that I had my heart set on finding a match. And I wasn't just gonna give up, I mean, has he met me. I found yet another hat murchat and pretended to still be interested in finding a match for my fathers had. I found one that looked like it but it didn't match... I turned around to show Jack but he disappeared. I turned back to the hat merchant and asked how much the hat was, like I was interested, and then came the sweetest thing I've ever seen in my entire life. There was a necklace that had a skull with cross bones on it, and the eyes were real sapphires, held in front of me. Jack had even gone through all the work to have "Sparrows Jewel" engraved on the back of the skull.
"Jack..." I stated, out of breath. Jack came up behind me and put the necklace on my neck as I lifted my hair out of the way.
"There, now everyone will know of Sparrows Jewel, Promise you'll keep it safe?" Jack asked, which got the merchants attention. I nodded.
"As long as I'm breathing, the Sparrows Jewel will always be safe" I joked. Jack walked off to get the rum that I promised Gibbs, and left me alone.
"What's this of a Sparrows Jewel?" The merchant asked.
"Haven't you heard? Captain Jack Sparrow found a very valuable Jewel, worth more then shillings, it's a sapphire. I'm the one he's in trusted to keep it safe" I announced, making it up as I went. The merchant looked at me weird.
"Captain Jack Sparrow in trusted you to keep it safe, ha, big mistake on his behalf, how's about you give it here?" The merchant announced, holding his hand out.
"Unfortunately, I only carry the key sir, I don't behold the chest. But you can find it, it's very simple. That is if you can pry it from his hands." I announced looking down at my necklace. I guess he thought my necklace was the key because he tried to get it away from me. But I jumped just out of his reach. Other people who had heard what I said looked at me. I ran as fast as I could. I had a lot of explaining to do when Jack finds out. I was on the run for the second time this month... Dang. I made my way through merchants and other obstacles while still trying to avoid the people who wanted the "Sparrows Jewel".
"After her! She has the key to Sparrows Jewel!" The merchant yelled. Then the chase was on. I ran as fast I could and didn't care who I trampled or what I knocked over, because I was on the run. I saw a latter and climbed it. I ended up on top of a building. But I wasn't in the clear, not yet. I jumped from one roof to another trying to avoid the eyes of the merchant and his little possy. But I ran out of roof and soon there was nothing left to jump. I turned back to the merchant and unsheathed my sword. He laughed.
"Drop the sword, you're clearly out numbered, just hand over the key and we'll leave you be" the merchant announced pointing at my necklace. I grabbed it and shook my head.
"I can't do that, especially not to Jack" I stated ready to fight.
"Fine, guess we have to do this the bloody way." He stated, drawing his own sword.
"Guess so" I stated. He took the first attack, attempting to cut the necklace off my neck, but I blocked it and countered. I continued the defense tactics until he was good and tired. Then I switched to offense and started taking slices at him left and right until I stabbed him in the side and kicked him off the roof. The two big henchmen behind him started to walk forward. And then they stopped in their tracks and fell forward. Jack stood behind them.
"Jack!" I exclaimed. He took a long gulp of rum. "Did everyone see that? Because I will not be doing that again." I asked. He smiled. I had taken yet another one of his sayings and used it to my advantage.
"Don't ever run off while I'm buying rum again." Jack stated. I nodded and climbed down the latter and jack followed. "Well today was eventful, now I'm as hungry as a sailor, why don't we get some supper, Love, Savvy?" Jack asked, returning his arm to my shoulders. I nodded. I needed a break from being a pirate.
