Chapter 4
The situation Yoongi got himself into was... interesting.
He was dressed as a school girl with other school girls staring at him. Girls were envious of him sitting with them. That takes all hope of befriending females.
He wouldn't want to hang out with rich girls either way. He didn't want to run the risk of finding a rotten piece of the apple.
Albeit, the boys were either excited to have her around or uncomfortable. It was a weird experience for Yoongi too. He didn't know if this was a good thing or a bad thing.
Taehyung - who was more than glad to invite Yoongi - was one of the social butterflies in the group. He kept a conversation going along with another male in the group.
"What school did you transfer from?" One of the boys asked.
Yoongi contemplated how much he would tell them. He took his time chewing, while keeping a straight face. That only made their curiosity grow.
Finally, after a moment of silence he answered the question. "Well, I was originally going to college instead of school. My parents, instead, enrolled me into this school." He couldn't help but drag the word 'parents'. In reality, it was the company that convinced him. It wasn't like he had a choice anyway, so 'convinced' was a poor word choice.
"Oh, I get it." He nodded.
"How old are you?" Jimin blurted out without thinking. The one next to Park elbowed him. "Haven't you heard you're not supposed to ask a lady her age."
"Oh, look at you being a gentleman now!"
"Why do you ask? Are you really curious?" Yoongi asked, interrupting the possible conflict that would break out. All their attention was put on him. The brunet rested his chin on his hand; he placed an elbow on the table. The shoulder-length hair swayed slightly when he done so, causing that 'charisma effect' once more.
Of course, Yoongi held back any form of cringing. Later in the day, he'd just crawl into his bed and sulk until he fell asleep. Although, he was sleep deprived. He barely slept, so that would be impossible.
"Um," he paused, "You don't need to tell us, you know."
Jimin gulped and shifted in discomfort. Was she not mad at him or is she hiding it? He thought there was a possibility that she really didn't mind the question.
It seemed so.
Though, he wouldn't jump to conclusions.
"No. It's fine. I'll tell you, but first tell me something. Tell me why you all seem to be different ages, but you're in the same class," Yoongi said in a contradictory nonchalant-and-assertive manner.
They'd noticed that about this girl. She wasn't afraid to ask. If she had something in mind, she would state it how it is. Then again, she could do such a thing only through Jimin who done the same. His was a slip-up though.
The difference between them is that she meant to say it. She knew what she was doing. She was extremely honest about her opinions and confident as well.
"Oh, wait you don't know?" Taehyung asked, putting both of his hands on the table. That was a sign that he was surprised and curious about Yoongi's answer.
"Don't know what?" Yoongi asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Our class is known to have lots of repeaters - class 2-E! But then you get Jungkook here in our class. Though some of us have a really good reason for repeating. There was this incid-" A hand covered Taehyung's mouth, silencing him.
Again, Yoongi couldn't care less. He wasn't a nosy character, but he tried to act slightly curious. "Incident?" He questioned, tilting his head.
Oh, what am I doing with my life? He mentally face-palmed.
Jungkook, who was quiet the entire time, waved his hand in dismissal. "It's nothing. Nothing important."
"Oh, okay." Yoongi shrugged.
"On a serious note here! Jungkook was put into school really early! Like really, really, really, really, really, really-"
"Okay we get it!"
"Ugh, now I got the song stuck in my head!"
"Hey! Hey! You didn't tell us your age!" An energetic one with light caramel hair exclaimed.
"Oh, right. I'm nineteen," he said. Throughout the conversation, Yoongi only uttered the truth. Even his previous plans for the future was the honest truth. However, he didn't mention he was a pianist or what he would have studied.
Then again, if he didn't mention something, it wasn't actually a lie.
"Nineteen! Wow, you're older than you look," the other social butterfly exclaimed. He panicked right after his exclamation, "I mean, you don't look old! You look younger than your age, you see!"
Yoongi only nodded with a blank expression. He decided to take a gulp of his drink instead of reacting.
I need coffee in my life.
"You're older than most of us though," Taehyung said. "Should we call you older sister? You know, Noona?" Jimin asked with a smile.
Immediately after hearing that, Yoongi choked on his drink and spat it out. Fortunately, he turned his head, so the drink didn't land on anyone.
"Woah, are you alright?"
"I'm fine," he said through a coughing fit.

After that incident, Yoongi had successfully kept his cool. Jimin yet again apologized for what happened. Yoongi brushed it off with simply saying: "It's fine."
He'd swallowed his pride when he told the others: "You can call me that if you want to. It's up to you."
The day resumed and went smoothly. Then came Yoongi's favourite part of the school day: leaving.
"Yoon Ji Noona!"
Yoongi sucked in a breath and stopped dead in his tracks.
I need coffee. I need sleep. I need my bed.
He forced a smile and turned around. "Yes?" He inquired, trying to seem as friendly as his grim self could pull off.
The young man smiled sheepishly. "You seemed to be going the same route as me," he said, "I wanted to know if I should walk with you?"
Yoongi, indeed, was walking to his destination instead of being picked up. Ki-hyun had school and still juggled his job. His school was somewhere in the area, so he had to walk to his friend's school to be taken home.
Yeah, that sucks.
"Oh, I see. Do you live close to the school?" Yoongi asked.
They ended up walking together. The pavement wasn't filled with many people, since most students left by transportation. That being said, it was a relatively peaceful stroll home.
He heard the teen chuckle in response. "Not at all. I live close to Starship High School."
That caught Yoongi by surprise, but it was just part of the act. "Isn't that far though and you're walking?"
"Yes. To tell you the truth, I'm what you call the less fortunate in this environment," he admitted. The young man looked slightly embarrassed to the extent that he looked away. He must fear being called out or pushed aside due to his financial status.
He honestly thought he could tell her. He thought he could after seeing her walking too. Usually, the wealthy students of BH would take rides home. Mostly expensive cars and limos were used. She wasn't being picked up by anyone, so he thought--
His eyes widened in realization.
Maybe she is rich, but she just felt like taking a walk today! I'm such an idiot!
"What's your name?" Yoongi asked.
"Kim Namjoon," he nervously answered.
"Well, Kim Namjoon, I'm one of those less fortunate people. Welcome to the club," Yoongi casually said.
Namjoon had to process those words for a long period of time.
Yoongi stopped walking. "Why are you just standing there? I've got places to be. Hurry up."
Namjoon jolted in response. Unconsciously, he smiled. "Uh, right!"
