~Flashback~ ლ(╹◡╹ლ)

Blue held the soul close to him, being careful not to accidentally absorb it. He was shaking, error signs popping up around his body from time to time. He was going insane. The voices, who were nice at the beginning, started to become harsher on him. They were clouding his mind, calling him insults.

Weak.

Pathetic.

What kind of "Royal Guard" is he?

Why else is he not?

Blue was tearing up at their words. But he's not going to break down in front of them; he isn't going to lose hope. He just hoped his friend came back, to make him go back to his sanity. To talk to him; talk to someone physical, someone who can respond, compared to his human's soul. Just as he thought of this, he heard something behind him. A whooshing sound, with intermittent ticking and whirring sounds. (Definitely didn't copy paste a website to describe the sound-)

Blue looked back to spot a skeleton, his bones black, wearing a simple hoodie and basketball shorts, and a blue scarf around his neck. His body was glitching, error signs all around him. He looked like him, his skull having tear marks from his eye sockets to the bottom of his skull.

"DoN'T gET tOo ExItEd, I'm oNLy hERe fO-" He started with his glitching voice before Blue almost tackled him to the ground to the ground.

"ERROR, YOU'RE BACK!" Blue cried out, ignoring what Error said. He was just glad to see him again. His excitement was shortlived though, as Error pushed Blue away from him, his glitches intensifying.

"DoN'T fUNKinG tOuCH mE!!" Error yelled, glitches partially covering his eye sockets.

"S-Sorry! I-It's just that..." He looked up, his sockets filled with tears, a big smile on his face. "I'm just glad to see you again!" As he does this, Blue's glitches keep appearing around his body, and when Error saw this, he crashed.

*Error.exe has stopped working

*Rebooting...

"Um..." Blue stood there awkwardly. Did he do something wrong?

*Reboot complete

When Error came to, he looked around confused before seeing Blue's error signs and froze. "Error, are you alright?" Blue asked worriedly. As he tried to walk towards the glitching skeleton, Error started speaking.

"I shouldn't have left you here." Was what Error said, before opening a portal right underneath Blue, making him yelp at the sudden action.

"ERRO-" Blue started before Error closed the portal behind him. Blue fell and fell, not able to see his surroundings, the human soul still floating around his cupped hands as he fell before Blue hit something. Something hard, at the back of his skull, and with that, Blue found himself in darkness.

When he came to, he held his skull in pain. It was hell. Blue slowly opened his eyesockets to look for his surrounding, before meeting eyes with another skeleton. His skull looked exactly like Blue's, but that's the only similarity. He was wearing yellow clothes with a yellow cape that had a sun symbol from what Blue could see. And was looking at Blue worriedly. His eye lights were glowing yellow dots and had a golden circlet on top of his skull.

"Oh, you're awake!" The skeleton exclaimed, relieved. Blue jumped back at how close his face was from the skeleton.

"O-Oh, hello!" Blue said with his signature smile once he realized the skeleton is no harm. "Who are you?"

"I'm Dream," the golden skeleton said. Dream walked a bit closer to Blue, afraid to scare him. "What's yours?"

"I-" Blue started in his booming voice. "AM THE MAGNIFICENT SANS!" He then thought of what Error told him, "There are other versions of him." He could have met thousands of hims. What was that name Error called him?...

"BUT MY FRIENDS CALL ME BLUEBERRY!" He said immediately after he remembered.

"Nice to meet you Blueberry!" Dream said happily. "What are you doing out here in the middle of the woods?" Blue gave him a puzzled look before realizing his surroundings. He's surrounded by pine trees, all covered by a white blanket of snow. A part of the snow on the ground has a mold of where he was laying. He played too much attention to the yellow clothed skeleton to notice before.

"OH, MY FRIEND MUST HAVE TOOK ME HERE WITH THE-" Blue's eye lights went dark with realization, his expression changed to horror. "THE HUMAN!" He ran around, searching frantically the human soul.

"Human?" Dream asked, puzzled.

"THE HUMAN SOUL! I-I-I HAD THEM WITH ME!" Blue quickly explained as he continued to search for the soul. His body started glitching with ERROR signs popping up. He can't lose that human, they're his only way to bring everything back to normal! To caught up with his thoughts, he didn't realize that Dream placed a hand on his shoulder until he felt his worry melt away. It was replaced with calming aura, the feeling tingling his spine. He focused on the sensation until Dream backed away, and he turned towards him.

"What was..." Blue didn't finish his sentence as Dream showed him a glowing red heart floating above his palm. "I found it while you were panicking earlier...you didn't hear me so..." Dream awkwardly brought the hand with the soul towards Blue, ushering him to take it. Blue sighed in relief as he took the soul, keeping it close to him. He can't risk losing it again.

"Thank you." Was all Blue could muster as his grin returned, slowly returning to his normal self.

"You're welcome!" Dream responded, smiling.
"You think you can show me around? I'm kinda not from here, and I could use a guide..."

"Wait, you're not from here?" Blue asked surprised.

"Yeah...it's a long story..." Dream turned away, looking uncomfortable. Blue didn't push him; something obviously happened to his lookalike. He was about to decline the tour before stopping himself. You know what? Why not? It looks close enough to his own world.

"SURE! I, THE MAGNIFICENT SANS- I mean- THE MAGNIFICENT BLUE, WILL GIVE A TOUR OF THIS WORLD FOR YOU!" Blue did a heroic pose while looking proud, which cheered Dream up and made the golden skeleton giggle.

Blue felt like this is the start of a great friendship.

~Flashback ends. Finally, jeez)~

"And that's how we met!" Blue exclaimed as he turned to me, my skull filled with question.

"Wait wait wait- how long ago was this?" I asked.

"Around 4 or 5 years ago. Not sure." 5 years ago. The way Blue described Dream from years ago was different from the Dream he just says earlier. That's where shiz went down. I just need to find out what.

"Did you find out what Dream was so uncomfortable back then?" I asked. Blue smiled sadly.

"I think Dream should be the one to tell you that." Was the blue skeleton's only response to that. "Dang it." I thought.

"Fine...one more question." I had to get an answer to this. "This Error guy, did you ever see him after that?"

"Definitely! He's one of my best friends!" Blue smiled his signature grin as he said this, and I just sat there shocked.

"Friends?! You said it yourself, he kidnapped you! How are you friends?!"

"He's not all that bad of a guy! You just have to know him."

"Does Dream know about this?"

"Only bits and pieces, and I want to keep it that way." Blue's expression started to turn somber as he said this.

"Wh-" I cut myself off as a few ERROR signs appeared around his eye sockets. Now I know why.

Best not risk his friend's life.
