The lawyer
Present time at the trial...
"This is just a dream," I mumbled. I just couldn't help but to think. I didn't do anything wrong, besides where am I?! This dream was just too much for me to handle.
"What did you say? " The judged asked.
"Uh. Nothing," I tried so hard to smile.
This was weird. Should I just go with the flow? Just go play along their weirdness, am I in a tv show or something. A prank maybe?
"Do you want to say anything Ms. Feiro?"
How did they know my name?
"Uh. I need a lawyer, right? Where's my lawyer? It was a defendants right."
Now, I wanted to slap myself for saying that. But it wasn't wrong, or maybe this court was a little bit different. I looked at the judge, again then my surrounding—well, a lot different.
"What do you mean. Your lawyer was beside you."
Beside me?
"Hello. Ms. Feiro."
I fell of my chair when I saw my lawyer, it was a snake. I don't know what kind of snake, it got some round eye-glasses and a brief case in the front. Why I didn't notice it? What kind of dream is this?
I am afraid of snakes. This was a nightmare!
"Are you okay?"
"I am okay," I said to—my lawyer as I stand up.
I looked at him before speaking, " Who are you again?" He gave me a questioning look before answering.
"I am Mr. Balelsky."
I smiled at him and waved.
"What was my crime? " I asked my lawyer. I still need to ask of course. I couldn't move closer to my lawyer, instead I moved away from him.
"I didn't even know how I ended up here. Did someone read my rights—not that I am a criminal, but it was important. What happened? I didn't even know how I ended up here! " I continued. By the look of my lawyer's snake-y eyes he was having a hard time understanding me.
"Your Honor, May I request of a short recess? " my lawyer asked. Which the judge agrees, the only recess I knew was the school recess, where I would eat snacks and talk to my friends not in this place.

We were in an office. I didn't know if it was the snake's office or not, what I wanted to know was why I was here.
"We already talked about this. You were just going to sit there and do nothing, " Mr. Balelsky. I frowned upon hearing that, did I my start in the middle of my dream? I didn't remember how this dream started.
"What were you talking about? I didn't remember anything. What was my crime? I didn't remember doing something wrong," I said to him.
"Evelyn. How could you forget? Or you're just pretending that you didn't know what happened. I am your lawyer and you should say everything to me, without lies," he said. I rolled my eyes and looked at him intently before saying anything.
"I swear. I didn't know. I didn't even remember what happened. The only thing I did was studying algebra," my eyes gets wide because of the realization.
Algebra?! Was it a crime to hate algebra. Maybe, according to my algebra teacher back in high school.
"Not because of algebra. Didn't you said you helped a man? " he asked.
"You mean. I helped that man, that was the reason why I was being tried in court?! " I yelled at him. That was stupid, they were not serious about that.
I would rather be in a courtroom because of algebra rather being in a court because I helped a man.
"I am not guilty!" I said to him.
"That was the reason why we are in court to prove that you are not guilty of any crimes," Mr. Balelsky assured me. I guess, I have to trust him. He didn't look that °ad anyway.

My hands were shaking. We were already in the courtroom and the owl—I mean the judge was speaking. I didn't understand any of that and my lawyer said to keep my shout. So, I will keep my shout.
I wanted to ask if what was gonna happened to me, but given all the weirdness, I might be given a life sentence. Or to dance in the park naked! They might make me wear a hotdog costume at walk around my school. That was horrifying!
I looked at the other side. The prosecutor looked like a human, but when I squinted my eyes, I noticed she got pointy ears!, that's unfair! She looked cool.
"Is the prosecutor an elf?" I asked Mr. Balelsky.
"Right. Ms. Goodyfry, one of the best. Do not worry, I am also one of the best." For some reason, I couldn't believe him.
"Yeah. I am hoping to win. I am innocent after all," I mumbled. I really hope this would end, whether this was a dream or not. And the next thing I know, I am at school with my friends talking about how exhausting life can be
This was a good break from math. Never dream to be a lawyer, but maybe I can be one someday, I will change my major and take up political science or just continue what I started and study again, so I can have two degrees.
Who am I kidding?! I am not crazy enough, to do that. Maybe I will soon, if this dream— or not will continue for another hour.
"Prosecution, you may call your witness," the judge ordered. I yawned. I couldn't help it, I never imagined this trial was so boring and to think that this was my own trial.
"Thank you. Your Honor, may I call on Aziel Hendrik. The victim," the prosecutor said. I looked at the back to see the witness.
I felt my heart skipped a beat when I saw the man I helped, walked towards the witness stand. So that guy decides to be the witness, if I knew that this will happened, I will just let die there.
"That must be horrofying, being a victim then you will testify." I rolled my eyes. Victim my ass. I was the real victim here, I only wanted ti help!
I looked at him and he was smiling at me. Great. So, this was how he was gonna repay me?!
