Third Person's POV

Previously.... Dr. Eggman sent a strange new robot named Lucky to search for the last Chaos Emerald. Meanwhile, Knuckles decided that the only way to get back home was to convince the others to join up with Dr. Eggman, get all seven Emeralds together, and create Chaos Control but Eggman pretended to agree in the plan and fooled Knuckles and Chris into handing over all of their Chaos Emeralds, and then escaped with Chris held hostage! Can Sonic and Brody make it in time to get back the Chaos Emeralds and save their friend?

In Station Square, Danny, Frances, and Helen are playing outside. Helen has a puppet of Next "Good morning, children! Come on; it's time to play!" Helen said imitating Next's voice "Look, everybody! It's my favorite TV star!" Frances said imitating Cream's voice "You don't sound like her at all!" Danny said and they laugh - until they see the Egg Fort II fly directly overhead "It's him! Dr. Eggman! He's back again!" They all said and the Egg Fort II flies into the city and out of sight "What's he up to?" Danny asks "Whatever it is, it's not good!" Helen said and Sonic and Brody run past them, causing their clothing to blow about. Danny opens his eyes and sees Helen's blowing skirt, which causes her to look at Danny in scorn "Those were Sonic and Brody!" Frances said and Sonic and Brody run into the city "Chris!" Sonic and Brody said.

In the Egg Fort II, Chris is secured to the wall by a metal bracket. Bocoe and Decoe are pointing wrenches at him to make sure he doesn't pull any stunts. On the radar, Sonic and Brody are drawing ever closer "Dr. Eggman! Sonic and Brody are following us!" Decoe said "Sonic, Brody, hurry!" Chris said "They're gaining on us. We have to do something!" Bocoe said "Who cares about them? Especially when the seventh Chaos Emerald is waiting for me!" Eggman said. In the Landfill, E-77 Lucky is waiting at the landfill with the seventh Chaos Emerald.

Meanwhile at the White House, the President and his aides are meeting in the Oval Office. Jerome Wise has been replaced with Christina Cooper "Eggman's ship is making its way toward Station Square, sir" the P.T.A said "What measures are being taken? A total evacuation?" The President asks "Yes, Mr. President. While we're not sure where Eggman's headed, we have begun an evacuation of the entire southern region. Everything is under control" Christina said "I've been dreading something like this, but now that the time has come, I just hope we're ready for him" the president said and one of the aides has just gotten off the phone with Area 99 "Thank you... Mr. President, sir, we've just received word from the field. The Beetles are being put into place" an Aide said "Well... It won't be long now. We'll all have to wait and see. There's nothing more any of us can do. Nothing but hope for the best and prepare for the worst" The president said.

Meanwhile in the X-Tornado, Tails, Turbo, Chuck, Amy, Cream, and Cheese are packed into the X-Tornado. Chuck is listening to a GUN scanner "Just keep her steady. He can't be far. Just give her a bit more and let's go get him, Tails and Turbo!" Chuck said and Tails steers the X-Tornado in that direction.

At the same time in a G.U.N helicopter, a fleet of G.U.N. helicopters are also on the move. Rouge is examining a piece of jewelry "Topaz, it's gorgeous" Rouge said "It's... okay" Topaz said "I... I just don't know what to say" Rouge said "If you don't like it, I-I can take it back, Rouge. I don't really know anything about jewelry, so I asked a sales clerk, and she helped me pick it out" Topaz said "It's dreamy" Rouge said "It's nice" Topaz said and there is a pause "Thanks, Topaz" Rouge said quietly and Topaz glances at Rouge "...You deserve it. I just wanted to thank you for your help" Topaz said and Rouge smirks. Unbeknownst to them, Knuckles and Ralph are hitchhiking on the wheel of their helicopter 'I'm sorry, Chris. It's all my fault' Knuckles thought.

Back in teh Landfill, Lucky signals to the incoming Egg Fort II "Ahhh... There's my little good luck charm! I just knew he'd bring back the Chaos Emerald!" Eggman said "I am surprised he did not drop it" Bocoe said quietly "He sure is a klutz, isn't he?" Decoe asks quietly "Hey... H-He's a bit clumsy..." Eggman said and a hand extends from the Egg Fort II to pick up Lucky "I'd better grab that Emerald. Lucky... Come to Daddy..." Eggman said however, Sonic and Brody arrive and smash the hand, sending Lucky flying "Sorry, Pops, ya gotta be faster than that!" Sonic and Brody said "Gah! Why do those heinous hedgehog and wolf always have to ruin everything?!" Eggman asks "That is just our luck - bad!" Decoe said and Lucky lands on a soft object "But... But... my... my Emerald!" Eggman said and Brody turns back to Eggman.

"Heheh, don't worry. We'll keep it safe and sound for ya!" Brody said "All right!" Chris said "Rrrgh, don't even think about it, Brody and Sonic!" Eggman said "That Chaos Emerald is mine, d'ya hear me?! Mine'!" He said but Lucky is already extending the Chaos Emerald to Sonic and Brody "He would not dare!" Decoe said "We must do something, Doctor!" Bocoe said and just as Sonic and Brody are about to take the Emerald, several robots arrive on the scene. Sonic and Brody avoid one that nearly hits them "Too bad. You just missed us. Nice try though, Doc!" Sonic said "Was it your idea to send those robots?" Eggman asks Decoe "I do not get ideas, Doctor" Decoe said and Eggman pats him on the head "Good boy" Eggman said and the G.U.N. Beetles close in "Where are they coming from, Doctor?" Bocoe asks "Beetle 1 to Beetle 2, we're in position" The beetle pilot said "Hang on. Sonic and Brody are in the line of fire" the copilot said "Sonic and Brody, this is an official government operation. Please stand aside. I repeat, stand aside. We are launching an attack" the pilot said "Attack?! But our friend Chris is trapped inside there!" Brody said "We can't waste time. Open fire!" The pilot said and the Beetles begin firing at the Egg Fort II, doing minimal damage and Chris is shocked "Those fools! How dare they attack me!" Eggman said and Sonic and Brody try to stop the Beetles "You gotta listen! Our friend Chris is--" Sonic said but the Beetles' pilots don't listen and fire their most powerful weapons. The lasers arc toward the Egg Fort II and explode, blinding everyone "Chris!" Sonic and Brody said but the Egg Fort II is still intact.

"My, my. That was a close one" Eggman said "It is a good thing we put the Egg Shield up in time" Bocoe said "Next time, we may not be so lucky" Decoe said "Quiet! Don't you mention that traitor again, you hear?!" Eggman shouts "Now let me see... How can I get my Chaos Emerald back?" Eggman asks "Doctor, look at this!" Bocoe said "At what?" Eggman asks and Bocoe is displaying the internal schematics of one of the Beetles "This is the inside of their robot" Bocoe said "It is just like yours, Doctor!" Decoe said "How dare those underhanded hoodlums steal my ingenius robot designs to use in that revoltingly inferior hunk of junk monstrosity! I'll show that gang of sneak thieves what happens when they cross Dr. Eggman!" Eggman said angry and Decoe holds two signs depicting Eggman's robots as the gun ports open "Please, Doctor, do not be rash. Lucky is inside there" Bocoe said "Don't worry about him. With his dumb luck, he'll come out without a scratch" Eggman said "I would not count on it" Decoe said "FIRE!" Eggman shouts.

A hail of missiles is launched at the ground. Sonic and Brody dodge them by running "Hey! Cool it, Eggman! Somebody might get hurt!" Brody said "That was the idea! Launch Egg Beam Cannonball!" Eggman said and a large energy ball is launched at the ground, causing a massive explosion that blows Lucky away "Haha! Looks like that one did the trick!" Eggman said "One of these days, you are going to blow up the whole planet!" Bocoe said "It's a distinct possibility, Bocoe, but I'd rather do that than have Sonic and Brody get those Emeralds from me" Eggman said and Lucky beeps as it sails through the air "That voice!" Decoe said "It was Lucky!" Bocoe said "Not that backward bumbling bad luck charm again!" Eggman said and the Beetles have survived the attack "Huh?" Eggman asks "The enemy aircraft! And not a single scratch!" Decoe said "The Doctor really knows how to build a good ship... unfortunately" Bocoe said "I wonder if it's possible to be too much of a genius for your own good..." Eggman said "I wonder what happened to..." Decoe said and Sonic and Brody have also survived "It's Sonic and Brody!" Chris said "That answered my question" Decoe said "How could that hedgehog and that wolf survive the Egg Beam Cannonball?" Eggman asks "It looks like you missed" Bocoe said "I'll have you know the Egg Beam Cannonball is engineered to hit the bulls-eye every time" Eggman said "But Sonic is a hedgehog and Brody is a wolf, not a bull" Decoe said "I'll pretend I didn't hear that..." Eggman said and they become aware of Lucky's beeping "There's no time to waste. We have to retrieve our boy Lucky and get back that seventh Chaos Emerald before Sonic and Brody does!" Eggman said "Yes, Doctor!" Bocoe and Decoe said saluting and the Egg Fort II begins to leave "Uh oh. Eggman's on a mission to get that Chaos Emerald" Brody said "Not if We can help it!" Sonic said "It looks like Eggman's ship is on the move again" The beetle pilot said "We got him covered" the copilot said and they pursue the Egg Fort II "All right, gentlemen, it is now takeoff time" the pilot said and the Beetles convert to hover mode and fly after the Egg Fort II.

Meanwhile, Lucky is still flying through the air "Oh dear. I didn't know Lucky could fly so high" Eggman said "How will we ever catch him?" Bocoe asks "What if he drops the Emerald, Doctor?" Decoe asks "That Emerald doesn't belong to you anyway!" Chris said "Speak only when spoken to!" Decoe said and Sonic and Brody are racing after the Egg Fort II and the Beetles appear next to Sonic and Brody "Now's our chance!" Sonic and Brody said and they begin leaping from Beetle to Beetle.

Chris is struggling against Decoe, who begins slapping him "Hey! Let me go!" Chris said "Wow, that was quite a leap!" Bocoe said and Sonic and Brody take a huge leap into the air "Ooh..." Eggman, Decoe and Bocoe said "Sonic! Brody!" Chris said "We are in trouble!" Decoe said "Whaah! What if he gets that Chaos Emerald away from Lucky?!" Eggman asks "Oh! That would be very unlucky!" Bocoe said and Sonic and Brody catch Lucky "Gotcha! Just relax. We're your friends, little guy. We're not gonna hurt ya. But that Chaos Emerald you found is really important to us and our friends, so We're gonna take it off your hands" Brody said and Lucky's eyes become hearts and Chris sweatdrops "It's in love" Bocoe said "Don't be ridiculous! Take a good look below. Sonic and Brody will splash into the ocean. In other words, E-77's luck is always on our side" Eggman said.

Instead of falling, Lucky is flying, and Sonic and Brody are holding on "What's he doing? Why isn't he flying away?" Eggman asks "Hey, this is kinda fun! All right!" Sonic and Brody said "There goes your lucky robot, Doctor" Bocoe said "He may be lucky, but he's not very loyal" Decoe said "BE QUIET! He dares to getray me, does he? I'll show that traitorous tin can not to mess with me!" Eggman said "Doctor, are you thinking what I think you are thinking?" Bocoe asks "I think that is what he is thinking" Decoe said and Eggman's eye twinkles "Good thinking. For the first time, I, the great Dr. Eggman, will transform the Egg Fort II into the greatest robot ever created. I was saving it for a special occasion, but why put it off any longer? After all, I'm feeling lucky!" Eggman said and the Egg Fort II proceeds to transform "Merge mode number one!" Eggman said "Merge mode number two!" Decoe said "Merge mode number three!" Bocoe said and the Egg Fort II has reconfigured itself into the ultimate E-Series robot: E-99 Eggsterminator.

"Hahaha! Say hello to my ultimate robot creation: the Eggsterminator!" Eggman said and Sonic, Brody and Lucky, who are at the shore, watch as the Eggsterminator lands in the ocean "My, my. Bet you think you're pretty impressive, don'cha?" Sonic asks and the duo smirk "You may be big and strong, but I bet you don't move as fast as We do!" Brody said and the two run all over the Eggsterminator "Come on, Egghead! What are you waitin' for?" Sonic and Brody ask "Oh dear... They certainly are impatient, aren't they? But I say why rush into things?" Eggman asks and a shield containing six Chaos Emeralds rises into view "The six Chaos Emeralds!" Chris said "Don't worry. I'm keping them safe and sound for future use. In the meantime, I'll transfer a bit of energy from each Emerald into the Eggsterminator so it can grow stronger!" Eggman said and the first Emerald is embedded. The Eggsterminator's targeting computers scan for Sonic and Brody. The second Emerald is embedded. The Eggsterminator locks onto Sonic and Brody. Eggman laughs "Guess the Eggsterminator's got them on the run, eh, kid?" Eggman asks and Chris becomes scared 'He's using the Chaos Emeralds to beat Sonic and Brody and it's all my fault!' Chris thinks and soon all six Emeralds are implemented "I'm sorry!" Chris said anguished.

Sonic and Brody leap toward the Eggsterminator, but it fades away. It suddenly reappears behind Sonic and Brody and punches them through several buildings "Sonic! Brody!" Chris said "That thing packs quite a punch" Eggman said and Sonic and Brody are embedded in a building "Yeah... he's got a good right hook" Brody said "Sonic and Brody had better surrender. With six Chaos Emeralds to power him, my boy is unbeatable!" Eggman said "Please, Dr. Eggman, let Sonic and Brody go free!" Chris said "I'm afraid I can't do that just yet, so sorry!" Eggman said.

Using its Chaos Emerald-powered speed, the Eggsterminator slams Sonic and Brody into the ground again and the X-Tornado arrives "We're coming, Sonic and Brody!" Tails said "Quick, Tails! Turbo! Do something!" Amy said "The X-Tornado can't do much of anything now - not without a Chaos Emerald" Turbo said "All right! I guess I'll have to take care of that hunk of junk myself!" Amy said "Hold on!" Tails said and the X-Tornado suddenly banks to the right as the G.U.N. Beetles arrive "Target in sight" the beetle pilot said and the Beetles fire at the Eggsterminator, but the latter vanishes "What the...?" The beetle pilot asks and the Eggsterminator reappears and smashes the Beetles to bits "The Beetles... They've been wiped out!" A G.U.N soldier said.

"Wow. He really is powerful, isn't he?" Bocoe asks "Good thing he is on our side" Decoe said "Even I'm impressed" Eggman said "Eggman!" Those aboard the Eggsterminator hear and see a bruised and battered Sonic and Brody approaching them "Listen up. We're coming for Chris... and you better not try to stop us!" Sonic and Brody said and they collapse to their knees "How could Sonic and Brody survive a pounding like that?" Bocoe asks "I don't get it. They ought to be eggsterminated by now" Decoe said "So they should. That hedgehog and that wolf are much more resilient than I thought" Eggman said "We're coming, Chris!" Sonic and Brody said "They sure are gluttons for punishment" Eggman said and the Eggsterminator begins glowing "What's going on! Eggsterminator, quit wasting power, will you? We must conserve between battles!" Eggman said.

Now that the Eggsterminator has changed into a golden color, it punches Sonic and Brody into the ground and repeatedly pummels them "Noooo!" Chris said. Meanwhile in the G.U.N helicopter "Can't you move in a bit closer?" Topaz asks "No way. It's too dangerous" The pilot said "He must be using the Emeralds to power that thing" Rouge said and Knuckles and Ralph are still hitchhiking "We need to do something and quick" Ralph said.

The Eggsterminator lifts a completely battered Sonic and Brody "Soniiic! Soniiiiic!! Brooody! Broooody!!" Chris said and powered by rage, he desperately tries to escape, which causes the others to look at him "All right, Eggsterminator, enough fooling around. Drop them already" Eggman said "Good idea" Decoe said and memories of Sonic and Brody begin flooding to Chris. Chris rescuing Sonic and Brody from the pool, Sonic and Brody with two Chaos Emeralds. Sonic and Brody land in the ocean. At the sight of what very well could be the death of his heroes, he lets out an anguished cry... "Noooooo!!!" Chris said...and, with a combination of his sadness, anger, and adrenalin, manages to break free of the bracket "Why you..." Eggman said and Chris runs over and reaches for the Chaos Emeralds. He nearly burns himself on them, but he removes them from the shield "My Emeralds!" Eggman said and the battered Chris tumbles onto the dash, hitting the windshield. He holds the Chaos Emeralds close to him "They're mine... Mine... I won't... urgh... ugh... I won't let you take them away from me... ever again... Ever..." Chris said "That mealy-mouthed little crybaby shouldn't be so reckless. After all, those Emeralds are powering the Eggsterminator, and without them, this thing would be sent plummeting into the sea!" Eggman said " It is interesting, Doctor" Decoe said beaming and Eggman looks at the broken part of the wall where Chris was secured "As a matter of fact, we should be plummeting any moment now" Eggman said "I am sorry, Doctor, but did you just say "plummeting"?" Decoe asks and Eggman grabs Decoe "Don't just stand there!" Eggman said "Yes, Doctor!" Decoe said and suddenly Knuckles and Ralph break through the windshield "Where is Chris? We're taking him with us" Knuckles said "Well, if it isn't our good friend Knuckles and his boyfriend Ralph. How good of you two to drop in for a visit" Eggman said and Knuckles and Ralph pound the ground with their fists "Ohh.." Bocoe said "I think they're upset!" Decoe said "He's coming with us, and that's that" Knuckles said and he and Ralph realize Chris is gone "He where is he? What did you do with Chris?" Ralph asks.

It is revealed that Rouge is holding Chris, who is still holding the Chaos Emeralds "Enough Emeralds for a whole necklace, maybe some matching earrings..." Rouge said "Sonic... Brody... Let me... go..." Chris said weakly "No way. Not after all the trouble I went through" Rouge said "Sonic! Brody!" Chris said and Rouge accidentally drops Chris and the Chaos Emeralds toward the ocean "Oh no!" Rouge said and realizes her mistake "He made me drop him and my Chaos Emeralds!" Rouge said and swoops down and reacquires Chris "Look at what you did" Rouge said and she is suddenly grabbed by the Eggsterminator's hand.

"The Eggsterminator is malfunctioning. It's all because of that peeping brat!" Eggman said "That's right!" Decoe said "Where's Chris?" Knuckles asks. "Urgh... You're awfully fresh" Rouge said and the hand squeezes her. Soon the X-Tornado flies overhead "We're coming, Chris!" Tails and Turbo said.

Suddenly a part of the water begins glowing gold and blue and converging onto that spot "Look! Could it be...?" Chuck asks "Amy, I think it's Sonic and Brody!" Cream said "Chao!" Cheese said "It might be, but where's that glow coming from?" Amy asks.

Sonic and Brody, powered by the seven Chaos Emeralds, rises from the ocean, having become Super Sonic and Super Brody. They completely destroy the hand holding Rouge and Chris "Doctor! Something is happening! The Eggsterminator is losing its grip!" Decoe said "This is not good. What do we do now, Doctor?" Bocoe asks "We do nothing. Right at this very moment, those seven Chaos Emeralds are mingling way down in the bottom of the sea. The great moment has finally come" Eggman said "Are you saying what I think you are saying?" Decoe asks "Yes, I think that is what he is saying" Bocoe said "Let Chaos Control begin!" Eggman said and looks at Super Sonic and Super Brody.

The Eggsterminator attempts to pound Super Sonic and Super Brody with its remaining hand, but no damage is done "Well, Knuckles, your wish came true, but We got some unfinished business. Take this, Eggman" Brody said and the duo then proceed to fly all through the Eggsterminator. It begins to explode, and as it does, Chaos Control begins to take place. The ever-expanding sphere of light expands outward "Oh no. I think we're in Chaos Control" Topaz said " It's Chaos Control, Chuck. You'll be sent back with us" Tails and Turbo said "Don't worry; it'll be my pleasure!" Chuck said.

"Hey, look! Where's that light coming from?" Danny asks "Does this mean... they're going home?" Helen asks "Oh no..." Frances said.

In a completely white area, Super Sonic and Super Brody lay down the unconscious Chris "Can you hear us, pal?" Brody asks and Chris slowly opens his eyes "We're finally going home, thanks to you, Chris" Sonic said "Sonic, Brody, take me with you, please" Chris said a tear begins to form in his eye "I don't wanna stay here... not without you two" Chris said and Sonic and Brody use Chaos energy to heal Chris' wounds. The latter sits up and hugs Sonic and Brody "Ah... Sonic! Brody!" Chris said "It's gonna be okay. We promise" Sonic and Brody said and Chris starts to cry "Sonic, Brody, please don't leave. You're the best friends I ever had! I don't want you to go away. I'll miss you so much. Please don't go! Please!" Chris said but Sonic and Brody fade from Chris' grasp and he weeps bitterly "You can't goooo!!" Chris said anguished.

At the same time, a large, fog-covered land mass and Knuckles and Ralph see it's Angel Island appearing over the ocean. Somewhere else Eggman, Bocoe, and Decoe are recovering from their loss and Eggman finds a strange stone tablet and looks at it.

Later, Chris looks up in delight as he sees Sonic and Brody walking toward him from the midst. They give a wink and thumbs-up "Hey. Long time no see" Sonic and Brody said as this chapter comes to an end.
