Third Person's POV

Last time, the President ordered an all-out attack on Dr. Eggman's island base. Rouge the Bat, now working for the government, was put in charge of a special forces team to sabotage Eggman's base from inside. Meanwhile, Chris, Turbo and Tails discover the location of the third Chaos Emerald, but their plan to unearth it was gone with the wind. Can our heroes hang on and capture the Chaos Emerald, or will Eggman and his windy robot blow them away?

We start in Station Square as a crowd has gathered around a giant screen to see the President deliver his speech. Danny is also in the crowd "My fellow citizens, the assault against the headquarters of Dr. Eggman has begun. Our military forces will press on until Eggman is no longer a threat to the world. We will not fail. Dr. Eggman must be stopped now!" The president said "Whoa... This'll be a heavy-duty fight..." Danny said.

*Meanwhile at Eggman's Base*

A hail of missiles is launched at the incoming wave of fighter jets. Knuckles and Ralph are hiding inside one of the jets and as the missile is launched, Knuckles and Ralph ride it toward the fortress, leaping off of it and clinging to the outside of the fortress right before the missile explodes. They then begin to scale the building.

Inside the base, Rouge, Topaz, and their troop proceed through the fortress until Rouge stops them "Hold it" Rouge said "Why did we stop?" Topaz asks "Because we're about to get a visit from Eggman's welcome wagon" Rouge said and as if on cue, an E-12 Behemoth approaches them "I'll take it!" Rouge said and flies toward the Behemoth "Rouge!" Topaz said.

*Meanwhile at Tingalin Villa*

Mr. Stewart is struggling to keep his car on the road due to E-35 Funfun's wind. It blows to a 90° angle "Poor Chris... He's out here too... This is terrible" Stewart said. Elsewhere in Tingalin Villa, the X-Tornado lands just behind Chris and Frances, who are still down on the ground. Funfun approaches them "We can't stay here!" Frances said and starts to stand up "Just hang on!" Chris said "Frances! Get down now!" Amy said and suddenly she lifts off the ground, and would have blown away had Amy not caught her "Stay down and don't try any more stunts!" Amy said "Right! Sorry!" Frances said "I hope Tails and Turbo are all right!" Amy said. Tails shakes the uncouncious Turbo worried "Wake up Turbo! Please!" Tails said and Turbo groans regaining consciousness as Funfun steps on the X-Cyclone and begins to crush it "Tails! Turbo!" Chris said "E-35, crush that lame robot while Tails and Turbo are still inside" Eggman said and Funfun obeys and attempts to crush the X-Cyclone and Tails and Turbo cringe as Funfun continues crushing the X-Cyclone, and Eggman laughs.

Meanwhile, Sonic and Brody enter the Tingalin Villa area, and run past Mr. Stewart's car, leaving him bewildered. Back at the villa, Tails and Turbo cower hugging each other, fearing these moments might be their last and Eggman laughs victoriously "Kill them!" Eggman said but just then Sonic and Brody arrive, pausing before Eggman "It can't be!" Eggman said and Sonic and Brody smirk then deal Funfun a single hard blow, sending it staggering and falling backwards. Funfun is still generating wind "There he goes!" Chris said "Stop it, Funfun! Shut down your blowhole!" Eggman said and the wind current blows Eggman up and out of sight before the blades stop spinning. Tails and Turbo leap out of the X-Cyclone and run up to Sonic and Brody "You guys saved us all!" Tails and Turbo said and Sonic and Brody chuckle "Yeah, yeah. But Tails, Turbo, why'd you two wind up way out here?" Brody asks "We found out the third Chaos Emerald is here" Tails said and realization hits the two "Whoa, that's right! We almost forgot!" Turbo said "Hey, easy, pals" Sonic said and just then Funfun's eyes open again, and it begins to stand up "Cool your jets, big guy. Just let them pick up what they came here for and we'll all go away" Brody said and Funfun's fan turns on and blasts air at them, albeit weaker this time "Guess We'll have to knock the wind outta ya!" Sonic said smirking and Chris runs over to the X-Cyclone's controls and presses the button that releases two Power Rings toward Sonic and Brody "Sonic! Brody!" Chris said and Sonic and Brody catch the rings "Got it!" Sonic and Brody said as they burrow through the robot using the power of the ring. Funfun falls on its face, finally defeated. Turbo digs up the yellow Chaos Emerald "I found it!" Turbo said "Why Turbo, you shouldn't have!" Eggman said and a claw descends from above and snatches the Chaos Emerald from Turbo, who looks up to see who did it and screams.

Eggman laughs then flies away in the Eggmobile "Let's go get it back!" Brody said "Huh? Yeah!" Turbo said and he, Brody, Sonic and Tails head to the X-Cyclone. Frances climbs into the fourth seat "Right!" Frances said "Frances" Chris said who is in the seat in front of her, looks at her "What?" Frances asks "Uh... I think... it might be better if you stay here" Chris said "How come, Chris?" Frances asks "It's gonna be dangerous!" Chris said "Hey, Chris..." Amy said "You're not staying behind, are ya?" Tails asks "All right, let's just go!" Chris said frustrated and Brody hops onto the nose of the craft.

"Let's go get 'em!" Brody said and Sonic hops onto the nose of the craft standing next to Brody and the X-Cyclone converts back into the X-Tornado and takes off. Mr. Stewart gets out of his car and watches it leave.

*Meanwhile inside Eggman's Base*

Rouge dodges a punch from the Behemoth, then leaps to the other side, and dodges another punch "Hurry! Set the charge!" Rouge said and Topaz attaches an explosive device to the Behemoth "Okay!" Topaz said giving a thumbs up and Rouge gives a wink and a thumbs-up before Topaz presses the button. The device explodes, causing the Behemoth to fall through the floor. Topaz and Rouge high-five.

At Eggman's Command Center, Bocoe is sitting in the command chair, with Decoe standing next to him "Our situation is becoming dangerous. Those soldiers have us outnumbered!" Decoe said "We must formulate a new strategy quickly before they deactivate us" Bocoe said and sees a dot approaching them on the radar "Another enemy ship is approaching. This one must not get through!" Bocoe said "Blaaast theeeem!" Decoe said.

Outside, missiles are launched, unknowingly at Dr. Eggman who is returning from Tingalin Villa "Aahh! Cease fire! It's me, you blockheads!" Eggman said and sees the damage the military's missiles is doing to his base "The President thinks he's got me in his sights. Ha!" Eggman said and dodges more rogue missiles "Well... I hope you didn't rehearse a victory speech, because I'm back in command now!" Eggman said and dodges even missiles as he perilously makes his way toward the base "Whoa! Hey! Those are my missiles!" Eggman said.

*Meanwhile at Station Square*

The gathered people are still watching the report on the big screen. Danny, Albert Butler, and Elmer Johnson are in the crowd "The attack on Eggman's base appears to be failing" Scarlet said and the X-Tornado appears on screen "Wait... What's that? ... A new aircraft is on the scene. Is that one of ours?" Scarlet asks "Ah! The X-Tornado!" Danny said and the people in front of him turn to look at him "Tornado?" A man asks "Where did it come from?" A woman asks and Sonic and Brody are seen on the nose of the X-Tornado "There's something on the nose of the craft. It's a blue... and a yellow..... It can't be. A blue hedgehog! And a yellow wolf!" Scarlet said "It's Sonic and Brody!" Danny said and more people look at him "Who are those?" a teenager asks "Yeah, what's their names again?" Another woman asks "Their names are Sonic and Brody. Sonic the Hedgehog and Brody the Wolf!" Danny, Albert and Elmer said.

*Meanwhile Inside Eggman's Base*

As the X-Tornado continues flying toward the base, Rouge and Topaz's platoon arrive at a door "There!" Topaz said and suddenly a Behemoth breaks through the wall behind them "There's another one?!" Topaz asks "Don't sweat it, sweetie. I'll handle this robot" Rouge said "You lead the team to the generator room and set the charges" she said and Topaz nods "All right, guys, follow me!" Topaz said and Rouge takes on the Behemoth as Topaz leads the troops toward the power station. But a platform full of Guardbots rises up from the floor in front of them. Rouge is struggling with the Behemoth "Missed me, slowbot!" Rouge said and the Behemoth suddenly grabs her. She becomes steamed, then delivers a powerful kick to the robot, sending it reeling. She then sees Topaz and her officers ducking under the Guardbots' laser fire "Topaz!" Rouge said and suddenly Knuckles and Ralph break through the wall "Knuckles! Ralph!" Rouge said and Knuckles and Ralph punch through the Guardbots, destroying them "Wow, thank you. You two are one of Sonic and Brody's friends, aren't you?" Topaz asks "We're not friends!" Knuckles said "But you two do know them, don't you?" Topaz asks "Maybe" Knuckles said "Ignore my boyfriend, he's a big softie" Ralph said wrapping an arm around Knuckles "By the way, what are you and your crew trying to do here anyway?" Ralph asks before Knuckles said anything "We came here to destroy Eggman's base. In fact, we're on our way to sabotage the generator room right now" Rouge said "There's no way you can do it. That room will be impossible to get into" Knuckles said crossing his arms "Really" Rouge said shrugging "We have to try!" Topaz said "You'll fail... unless you have me and Ralph along. I can't wait to see the look on Sonic and Brody's face when they finds out that I helped to defeat Dr. Eggman while they missed out on the glory. That'll mess with their ego" Knuckles said "Sounds like you're trying too hard to impress your boyfriend" Rouge said "What did you say?" Knuckles asks "Oh, nothing. Never mind, Knuckles" Rouge said and Ralph chuckles.

At Eggman's Command Center, Eggman is sitting in his commamd chair, lecturing his hench-bots "That was me!! You tin-can turkeys nearly wiped out the most evil genius in the universe! Bah!" Eggman said "Sorry, Doctor..." Decoe and Bocoe said and Eggman spots Sonic and Brody on top of the X-Tornado on the screen "I'll wipe those smirks off Sonic and Brody's faces!" Eggman said and presses various buttons "I'll shoot you down!" Eggman said.

Lasers stream from the fortress, and several missiles are prepared for launch "What's that?" Chris asks "Hang on tight, Chris" Tails said.

"Uh-oh. Look out!" Decoe said "This time the doctor means business" Bocoe said and several mechanisms appear around Eggman's chair. A set of controls rise, and Eggman takes them and presses a button several, lauching the missiles. Eggman's chair spins around as he launches the missiles. Frances cries out in fear.

The X-Tornado nimbly dodges the missiles "We're gonna craaaaash!" Chris said "Relax; we're fine" Turbo said while Eggman is still launching missiles "Take that and that and that" Eggman said.

*Back at Station Square*

The crowd is watching the battle on the screen "They're done for!" A man said "No. They're gonna make it through okay" Danny said.

*Back at the X-Tornado*

There are at least three missiles hot on the X-Tornado's tail "There's more coming!" Amy said "Well, watch this!" Tails said and turns the X-Tornado around and opens fire on the missiles, destroying them "Yaaaaay!" Frances said "Pretty cool, huh?" Sonic and Brody ask laughing.

At Station Square, the crowd sees Sonic and Brody on the screen "Go, Soniiic! Go, Brodyyyyy!" Danny said and the crowd picks up Danny's enthusiasm "Sonic and Brody rock!" The crowd cheer.

*Back at Eggman's Base*

Tails shoots a circle into the side of the fortress "Hey, Sonic! Brody! Will that work?" Tails asks "Perfect!" Sonic and Brody said and they leap off of the X-Tornado and through the center of the circle of bullet holes, effectively entering the fortress. They race through the fortress and through a door, where they encounter Eggman "That's close enough. It was a fluke that you two pushed it this far, but now your lucky streak is over" Eggman said and a door labeled E-18 opens, revealing a giant robot, E-18 Guerra-Hard by name, which contains the yellow Chaos Emerald Eggman stole earlier. Eggman flies the Eggmobile to the top of Guerra-Hard, and docks it inside "Ready, hedgehog and wolf?" Eggman asks "You bet, Doctor E!" Brody said and Guerra-Hard attempts to punch Sonic and Brody, but they leap out of the way, and leap toward Eggman through the debris of the damaged floor.

Meanwhile at the Power Station, a soldier reports to Topaz "The demolition charges are all set, ma'am" the soldier said "Good work. Well, looks like we're ready, Rouge. ... Hey, where did Rouge go?" Topaz asks "I saw her go that way" Ralph said pointing "What in the world is she doing there?" Topaz asks. Meanwhile, Rouge is on a platform above them "Aw... Eggman must be keeping the Chaos Emerald someplace else now" Rouge said "Hey Rouge!" Topaz said "What?" Rouge asks "Get down here! We've gotta go!" Topaz said "Go on; I'll catch up" Rouge said "We need you!!" Topaz said "There's something I've gotta take care of first!" Rouge said.

At Eggman's Command Center, Bocoe and Decoe are observing the happenings at the power station "They appear to be working on opposite sides, but are any of them working for us? You should lock them all in until we can figure who is who" Decoe said "Good idea" Bocoe said and presses a button.

At the Power Station, a door shuts in front of Rouge "Uh-oh. Not good" Rouge said and Topaz, Knuckles, Ralph and the soldiers climb up to Rouge's level "Hey! What are you up to, Rouge?!" Topaz asks "They locked us in, but not for long" Rouge said and attempts to kick the door "This is really thick" Rouge said and a few kicks later, she is winded "I can't kick through..." Rouge said "Leave it to us!" Ralph said and he and Knuckles march up to the door and land a heavy punch on it. The two sweatdrop when they see no damage has been done "Huh? We didn't even make a dent" Knuckles said and the two throw a volley punches at the door, but only manage to dent it. The bomb timer shows less than ten minutes left "Is there time to defuse the charge?" Topaz asks but the soldier shakes his head and Topaz falls on her knees in despair "Well... That's it" Topaz said "We're not giving up yet!" Knuckles and Ralph said "They're right. Together, we have a fighting chance. Ready?" Rouge asks and using teamwork, Knuckles, Ralph and Rouge attack the door together.

Meanwhile at Guerra-Hard's room, Sonic and Brody speed toward Guerra-Hard, but the surprisingly agile robot kicks Sonic and Brody into the ceiling, then slaps them into the wall and Eggman laughs "They're crushed!" Eggman said and Sonic and Brody smirk "Not yet!" Sonic and Brody said and Guerra-Hard grabs Sonic and Brody and smashes them against the floor, pinning them there "The pressure's on now, Sonic and Brody" Eggman said "Ngh... We've gotten out of tighter squeezes!" Sonic said "That's true, but this time you two have finally met your match. Guerra-Hard's the ultimate combat robot, because it's got the ultimate power supply!" Eggman said as it is revealed that there actually two Chaos Emeralds inside Guerra-Hard "Two Chaos Emeralds!" Eggman said "So that's it..." Brody said "I've been looking forward to this, Sonic and Brody" Eggman said but before he does anything, the Eggmobile's phone rings and Eggman answers it "Hello?" Eggman asks "Sorry to bother you, Doctor, but we have a problem. A group of intruders is locked in the generator room. We are unable to determine whose side they are on" Decoe said "Huh?" Eggman asks and Eggman activates the Eggmobile's screen, which shows Knuckles and Ralph punching the door "Knuckles and Ralph?! Those are our enemies, you dumb-bot!" Eggman said "Then we will eliminate them" Decoe said "What are they doing in the generator room anyway?" Eggman asks " not certain, but they did mention something about demolition charges" Decoe said "They whaaat?!" Eggman asks angry.

At the Power Station, there are five minutes left on the timer. Knuckles, Ralph and Rouge continue attacking the door. Topaz looks at her watch "We're... running out of time..." Topaz said "We're not going to give up!" Ralph said.

Back at Guerra-Hard's room, Sonic and Brody are still pinned by Guerra-Hard's hand "This'll be a cinch!" Sonic and Brody said as they use all their strength to do a push-up, lifting Guerra-Hard's hand "How foolish are you to set a time bomb and get locked into the same room?" Eggman asks and with the hand raised, Sonic and Brody run out from under it "Rrrrgh... Get Sonic and Brody!" Eggman said and Sonic and Brody rebound off the wall and speed toward Eggman "Run all you want. Guerra-Hard will still pulverize you two!" Eggman said "Whatever!" Sonic and Brody said and Guerra-Hard tries to stomp on Sonic and Brody, but the duo leap back, then run up the leg "Get them!" Eggman said and Sonic and Brody break through Guerra-Hard's torso, grabbing the Chaos Emeralds as they pass through the other side, Brody holding the cyan emerald and Sonic holding the yellow emerald "Gah! Stop them!" Eggman said "Yahoo!" Sonic and Brody said and they harness the power of the Chaos Emeralds to fly through Guerra-Hard "No! Bring them back!" Eggman said and screams as Sonic and Brody fly through Guerra-Hard repeatedly before crashing through the wall and leaving the fortress - leaving a sparking Guerra-Hard behind "Oh nooo!" Eggman said and ejects and flies the Eggmobile to safety moments before Guerra-Hard glows and explodes violently.

Outside, the explosion has severely damaged the fortress. Sonic and Brody fly through the fortress twice, damaging it further.

At the Power Station, the room begins shaking under the impacts as 2:30 remains on the bomb's timer "Aah! There's not much time to get out of here!" Topaz said "We're still locked in" Rouge said "Don't worry; I'll punch us out" Knuckles said and gives the door the finishing blow, creating a hole in it "All right" Knuckles said "Look out!" Ralph said and tackles Knuckles to the ground as the flying Sonic and Brody break through the door and then the ceiling, damaging the fortress "What showoffs..." Knuckles said and looks at Ralph blushing "Can I get up?" He asks and the soldiers begin moving out "You two can make out later follow my lead" Rouge said and Knuckles leaps up "Shut up! Besides following you is what got us trapped to start with!" Knuckles said "WE HAVE TO GET OUTTA HERE NOW!!!" Topaz yells and Ralph picks up Knuckles and they leave the fortress, and with seconds to spare. The bomb detonates, completely destroying the fortress. A large burst of light engulfs the entire island before the fortress disintegrates into the sand. Everyone safely watches this from the beach.

*At Station Square*

The crowd erupts in cheers upon seeing the fortress being destroyed "Wh... Where's Sonic and Brody?" Danny asks "Yeah. Do you think they made it out of there okay?" Elmer asks.

At Chuck's lab in the Thorndyke mansion, "That fireball's huge. I hope Sonic and Brody weren't still in there..." Chuck said "I bet we'll see them any second" Cream said "Right, Cheese?" She asks "Chaaaoo!" Cheese said.

At the X-Tornado, Sonic and Brody's Chaos Emerald flight power wears off, and they land on the nose of the X-Tornado, each holding a Chaos Emerald "Yeah!" Sonic and Brody said "Sonic!!" Tails, Turbo, Amy, Chris and Frances said.

"Way to go!" Danny said as everyone in Station Square cheers seeing Sonic and Brody on the screen and the destruction of Eggman's base as this chapter comes to an end.
