As he sat in a tree gazing over the starry horizon Jim thought of everything that had happened in his life. Finding the amulet, meeting Blinky and ARRRGH, becoming a troll or, at least part one, defeating Bular. Almost dying a million times. He laughed quietly at that thought. He had come a far way from the person he used to be. A long way for sure. "Jim!" A voice called below him.
He looked down through the thicket of branches to see his girlfriend Claire calling up to him. "Come down!" She yelled. "Blinky is looking for you."
"I'm coming!" He called back and swung down. As his feet hit solid ground, he brushed his black and red armor off. "Why is Blinky looking for me?" He asked, tilting his head slightly to the side.
A smile brightened up her face. God, did he love that smile. "Merlin thinks the heart stone is close, we are leaving in an hour. We might find a new home, Jim!"
Jim beamed back. It was fantastic news! They had been searching blindly for nearly four months now. The trolls were beginning to lose hope. Now, this would definitely bost some moral. "That's amazing news!" He bent down and kissed her cheek.
"Come on. We better get back to the others and start packing." She said taking his hand and walking out of the small clearing. Jim followed.

As camp came into view, Blinky came out and waved. "Master Jim! Fair Claire!" He called.
Both Jim and Claire waved back as they came closer. "Is it true?" Jim questioned Blinky.
Blinky nodded his head. "Yes, it is master Jim. Merlin has located the heart stone. We are relatively close." He then smiled. "There is no record of trolls there. We will have a new home."
Jim smiled at his mentor and fatherly figure. "Where does Merlin think it is?" he asked
"Merlin believes that the stone is just a couple of miles away," Blinky answered pointing to the east.
Jim nodded his understanding and started to enter the cave with Blinky and Claire following close behind him. They were greeted by many hellos and happy waving. The news had certainly gotten out. As he made his way to the back of the cave he reached the designated pile of rock that was for him and Claire. Now he was a part troll, he found it was more comfortable than a bed. He sat down and Claire sat down on his lap as she folded clothes into a suitcase that she had brought with her from Arcadia. "So how do you feel about being so far away from Arcadia?" He asked, at last, breaking the silence.
"Well, it's fun being here on an adventure with you." She looked up and kissed him on the bottom of his chin. "Anyway, you need to pack too." She continued.
Jim snorted. "Pack what? I don't have anything, I'm not human anymore. I don't pack stuff."
Claire looked up apologetically. "Right sorry. I still haven't gotten used to you being." She gestured at Jim. "You know."
Jim looked away ashamed. Claire noticed this and hugged him tightly. "Not that I don't love you the way you are." She whispered in his ear
Jim hugged her back tightly, laying his head on hers. As he sighed deeply he thought of how lucky he was to have all these people by his side. Claire, Blinky, his mom, Mr. Strickler, Toby, ARRRGH, and everyone else who had stood by his side. He was sure that he would have hidden for the rest of his life after the transformation. He was still slightly self-conscience about it, but he was getting better every day. As they broke away from the hug they looked at each other in that magical way that only lovers could. An awkward cough came from behind them and they looked up both blushing furiously. Merlin was standing off to the side grinning smugly. "If you two are done, we are wanting to move to the new heart stone location."
It took all Jim's willpower to not jump the wizard. The wizard had a lot of power and the same amount of ego. But all the same, he stood up respectfully leading Claire out of the cave by her hand. With Claire's luggage over one shoulder, he walked with the rest of the trolls single file on a small trail.

"Alright, we will stop here it is almost dawn," Blinky said raising his staff.
Jim plopped down under a tree dropping the luggage down next to him. A few minutes later, Claire sat down next to him. They sat in silence for a few minutes. As if looking to break the awkward silence Claire looked up and pointed at the branch that was broken and splintering. "What do you think happened?" she asked
Jim shrugged looking up as well. "Probably lighting."
"Lighting?" She questioned "but why not a higher branch? There is a bunch of leaves and they don't look burnt."
Jim raised an eyebrow and glanced at his black haired girlfriend. "It looked like it happened a long time ago. The leaves probably grew back." He looked back up and watched it for a few more minutes. As he did so, his mind began to wander. 'Why, if it was lighting that is, did the bolt not hit a higher?'
Finally, curiosity got the better of him, and he swung up a branch closer to his specific branch. Inspecting it closer he realized that it wasn't burnt at all. If it had been hit by lighting it would have been burnt at least a little. But the edges were white and splintery. Just to make sure, however, Jim leaned forward to sniff the branch. After one quick sniff, it confirmed his suspicion. The branch was not burnt. In fact, it looked as though the pressure was applied and that is how it broke. A voice broke the silence. "What's that?"
Jim looked down and saw one troll pointing to a dark corner of the clearing. He turned his nose in that direction and sniffed. Something smelled off. But Jim couldn't tell what it was. He growled, all the same, drew his sword and jumped down protectively in front of Claire baring his teeth. She was the only one with no weapon. Everyone stared, tense at the corner where they had seen and smelled the newcomer. No one moved for what felt like ages. Everyone held their breath and watched for any sign of movement. Suddenly, and without any indication, the ground opened up under Jim's feet. He yelped as he fell suddenly through unexpected air. Hitting the ground hard, his head ached and he groaned dazed. As though from afar, he heard more thumps and screams before his vision went black.

Jim woke with his head throbbing. Though it would have been much worse if he was human. Still, the pain was almost unbearable. He sat up and rubbed his head looking around with his eyes wide. He was alone in a cage above a dark endless looking chasm below him. Other cages around him held the rest of the trolls and Claire. She was awake in the cage next to him staring. When she saw he was awake, her eyes brightened. "Jim! Oh, Jim, you're awake." She called reaching a hand through the bars.
Jim grabbed it and gave her a gentle squeeze. Tears rolled down her face. "Where are we? How are we going to get out of this?"
Jim smiled reassuringly. "We'll get out of this. We always do."
Claire smiled back. They let their hands drop as heavy stone footsteps echoed, and three trolls entered. The one in the middle was a large blue troll with a crown looking thing made out of multiple multi-colored crystals. Though they could see his severe looking eyes, the rest of his face was hidden by a mask also made of stone. The guard looking troll on his left had rust colored skin and a sword. His face was hidden by a bright red stone mask and stood a few inches shorter than the one in the middle. The one on the middle troll's right was bright red with an orange mask. This one was a little taller than the middle troll and was holding a staff carved from red, orange, and yellow crystals. They stood under all the cages and looked up at them silently. The blue troll broke the silence with a deep voice, "You have been convicted of the crime of trespassing. Do you have anything to defend this accusation?" He asked Jim.
"I'm not the leader. Our leader is him," Jim pointed to Blinky. "His name is Blinky."
Jim had not even known they were trespassing. The troll looked in the direction he was pointing towards and muttered something to his companions. He then yelled, "Lower cage number 33!"
The cage that held Blinky lowered to the ground and the two other trolls, the ones that hadn't spoken, rushed forward and grabbed Blinky roughly by the arms. He yelped and struggled, but the trolls dragged him away. "BLINKY!" Jim yelled reaching for him. He couldn't lose him. Not after everyone else he had lost. Blinky was like a father to him, the father he never had.
A few minutes later, the trolls came back with reinforcements and cage looking carts. The new trolls all had masks like the first ones, and they all carried long swords. They lowered the rest of the trolls down and Jim was shoved roughly in one with trolls surrounding him. He shoved his way to the side and peered down. They were going over a stone cobbled street to a large stadium-like cave. Jim watched in amazement as the cage-cart rolled into the base. Hooks were lowered and Jim was lifted into the air again. Jim saw Claire a few cages away, and his heart lifted for the second time that night. She was okay. That was all that mattered right now. Jim's thoughts came back to where he was, as the sound of crowds could be heard from below his feet. He looked down to see the stadium-like seats fill with trolls of all shapes, sizes, and colors. They were all wearing masks and their voices were grim and sad. But they also had a small trace of triumph. Another thud jerked him out of his thoughts and he looked down at what looked to be an arena. Blinky had been shoved into the middle and suddenly cheering voices called out catcalls and rude remarks. Blinky opened his mouth in fury, just to close it again as the same rust color troll that took him away, entered the area and started towards him, Blinky eyes widen in fear. He scrambled up and back away, so he was against the far wall. The rust troll looked grim but determined as he stalked forward. At once, the troll was on top of Blinky and with one quick slash made a deep cut in one of his arms. Blinky yelled in pain and fell clutching his arm. Roaring, Jim reached out in a desperate attempt to grab Blinky's hand which was many feet below. Blinky got up again, shakily looking at the troll with widen eyes. In a desperate attempt to stop him from hurting him more, Blinky raised his fists and punched weakly at the muscular troll's body. The troll smiled coldly and raised his sword one last time. Jim roared and yelled shaking the bars and cage. But he knew there was nothing he could do but watch. Blinky was going to die. And he couldn't protect him.
