The song doesn't go with the chapter, but here we go. I love this song, and I think it is a kind of sneak peek to another chapter in the future! (:3) Any way enjoy!

------------------------------------------------<>--------------------------------------

My face paled. I could hardly believe it. Jim.
I could not protect him no matter how much I tried.   He got wrapped up in something bigger then I could have ever imagined. The Trollhunter. So the legend is true. Everything Drall had said was true. "A four-armed one." I breathed.

"What?" Toby turned to me.

"A four-armed one." I said again, "Our greatest enemies. And if they are traveling with one..."

Toby's face fell. "What will happen?"

"They will kill them on sight. All of the trolls." I whispered. "I need to get back."

"You're not going alone." said a voice I recognized.

I turned hoping, beyond hope, it was not who I thought was. But sure enough, it was Trixy and Rex. "Oooh heyyy, guys." I laughed nervously. "How long have you been standing there?"

Trixy had her hands on her hips and a determined look. 'Oh great' I thought.

"Long enough for us to know you are going to do something stupid. This isn't your war, why do you have to fight it?" Trixy asked sharply.

I sighed and looked into the eyes of everyone present. Trixy, Rex, Toby, and ARRRGH. "I will explain everything later. Please, I just need to get to New Jersey."

"Not without me," Rex said stepping forward.

"Or me." Trixy took a step to so her and Rex were level. "You can't seriously have all the fun. Plus, I'm always up for an adventure."

"I'm coming too." Toby piped up. "Jim is my friend. Plus, I'm the only one with experience with Trolls."

"Except for the fact I have lived with them for nine years." I rolled my eyes. "You know I have no experience."

"Hey, sorry. I'm just saying, yeah except for that." He said raising his hands in defeat.

"Is the troll coming to?" I asked glancing at the troll.

"Of course ARRRGH is coming! I can't leave him behind. He's my wingman!" Toby said like it was apparent.

"Wingman," I muttered. "Of course."

Toby started to look at me funny. "Wait... I told you Jim's and my story so what about you."

"Yeah, Carya. How did you decide to get involved with this?" Rex asked just before Trixy opened her mouth.

Trixy glared at him. "I was going to say that," she complained.

Rex shrugged "Sorry I just got there first."

Trixy rolled her eyes, but let it go. "Yeah okay, anyway. Answer the question." Trixy looked at me, and everyone turned to look at me expectantly.

I shifted on my feet and looked at the ground. There was silence as everyone stared at me. Looking up I sighed. "I know I have a lot of explaining to do but I really just need to save my brother. I ran away because I was too dangerous. Now that I can control the flame inside me I want to help him in any way I can. He is my brother, and I have turned my back on him for too long."

Trixy and Toby just looked at me. But Rex nodded his head as if he understood. "Okay, fine. What is the fastest way to New Jersey?" He asked Toby.

Toby scratched his head. "I really don't know."

"Yes but I do," I said everyone turned to me yet again. God, I don't like how they were all looking at me.

"Well, how?" Trixy asked impatiently.

"We could take the train to the next town. Then we should be able to run the rest of the way. I can fly and take one person. The others should sit on this big guy." I pointed to ARRRGH. "If that is alright with you."

"Fine." Toby. "Okay with you ARRRGH?"

The troll shrugged his massive shoulders and grunted.

"Okay. Who is going to ride with me?" I asked the group.

Trixy raised her hand so fast she almost smacked Rex. "Me," she said quickly.

The slightest smile traced my lips as Trixy slightly glanced at Rex. All the same, I nodded. "Okay, We better start right away."

Looking into the eye of everyone they all nodded. After Reciting the words, the wings sprang to life again on my back. Once again everyone stared at me. "What?" I asked shrugging my shoulders.

"Well, it's just that that's not something you see every day." Rex gulped

"Yeah!" Trixy ran as I knelt down and she clambered on. "Wait am I too heavy?"

"Nope. I'm fine!" I said and for prof launched myself into the air.

"Waho!" Shouted Trixy. "Oh yeah!"

"Shh," I whispered but still chuckling under my breath.

"Right," she whispered back and yelled under her breath. "Yahoo!"

I looked down to see Rex and Toby climb on top of ARRRGH and Toby look up at me. I motioned for them to follow me and headed straight for the train station. Before we arrived, I stooped and landed in the woods. "Why are we stopping?" Trixy asked and got off as my feet touch down on the ground. "The train station is still a mile away."

"I know I just had to take care of something first," I said brushing my clothes off.

A thumping of heavy feet announced the arrival of the others. "Why are we stopping?" Toby asked with a confused look on his face.

"I need to do something about our friend here." I waved my hand to indicate ARRRGH.

I knelt down and pulled out a long cloak that I then draped over ARRRGH like a blanket. Then reciting a few well-chosen troll terms, ARRRGH shrank to the size of a regular man. Another few words and he vanished from sight. Toby's, Trixy's and Rex's eyes widen in surprise.

"Awesome sauce," Toby said awed.

"That's useful." Trixy agreed.

"Are you okay ARRGH?" Toby called to his friend.

"Yep." came the grunt that was evidently ARRGH.

We walked the rest of the way. As the train station came into view, I sent Rex over to get four tickets in a private compartment. At first, he raised an eyebrow but then I gave him some cash, and he headed off to buy the tickets. A few minutes later we were in the compartment. Rex was sleeping soundlessly. Trixy, on the other hand, was snoring like a chainsaw. Toby was up, and I was pretending to be asleep in the bunk on top of him. I listened to him talk to ARRGH quietly. Finally, after what seemed like hours, I couldn't take it anymore. "Hey, Toby," I said barely above a whisper.

A short pause then. "Yeah."

"I have a question." I continued. "What is my little brother like?"

Another pause that was longer and made the silence slightly more awkward. "Well," another pause. "Jim was brave and strong. Best cooking in the world. Both human and troll."

I turned to stare at the ceiling smiling to myself."Anything else."

"Well, he might look and act a little different."

My head shot up almost hitting the ceiling. "What do you mean?"

"Well do you know a guy named Merlin?"

I thought for a moment. "Yes, I do. Solis made me study with him when he wasn't in the forge. Wasn't he some very important wizard that stopped some war. Not a very powerful but good enough."

It sounded like he choked. "Not very powerful? How is powerful with your people?"

I thought about all that I had seen over the long nine years. "Oh, they can control oceans or mountains or volcanoes. Kinda depends on what Element you study."

"Oh wow." There was silence yet again for so long I had thought he had fallen asleep. "Is that what they are up against."

"Yep."

"Do you think you can save them?"

I bit my lip. To tell the truth, I didn't know if I could. If I failed. No, I had to succeed. "I will save them," I said confidently. Much more than I actually felt.

I heard him sigh contently. I thought he was going to ask more questions, but I then heard quiet snoring and realized he was asleep. I turned on my side and tried to the same.

<<<<>>>><<<<>>>><<><><>>>><<<><<>>>>>><<<>

I woke up to the smell of pancakes and syrup. Also, the only reason I woke up was that Trixy had been prodding e in the back for the past ten minutes. "Wake up Carya," she whispered yelled in my ear.

With a groan, I sat up and robbed my head. "There is breakfast," she said and then jumped down to get pancakes.

I tried to go back to sleep, but it was no use. Once I am awake, there is no way I can go back to sleep. Finally giving up I got up and climbed down the latter. "Well look who is up!" Trixy said her mouth full of pancakes.

"No thanks to you." I yawned and punched her lightly on the arm.

"Anyways eat up there isn't much more to go around," Rex said handing me a plate stacked with pancakes.

I took them gratefully and started eating staring out the window. "Looks like we should be arriving by midday."

"How do you know?" Toby asked looking at me with wide eyes.

"I know this area well," I said not looking back at him.

Though he continued to look at me, he asked no further questions, which I was grateful for. It had seemed that last night we had reached an understanding that didn't need to be put into words.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

As I stepped off the train, I stepped aside to let Rex, Trixy, Toby, and ARRRGH off as well. Being careful to grab ahold of the cloak covering ARRGH, I lead the way out of the station and into the woods yet again. When we're full cover by the trees. I took back the cloak, and ARRRGH shrank back to his original size. Toby gave him a big hug. "I was missing you wingman!" he exclaimed.

I laughed a little but also looked away a little sad. I cleared my throat "I think we should start as soon as possible. If it is alright with you, I think we should all ride on your back." I turned to ARRRGH. "Here." I handed him another blanket. This one was baby blue. "This will protect you from the sun."

I draped it across his shoulders. ARRRGH faintly glowed blue but besides that nothing else happens. ARRRGH turned around to look at himself.

"Blue," he said staring.

"Yeah, but it will protect you from the sunlight. But don't lose it. I only have so much." I said. "Is it alright if we all ride you until nightfall?"

ARRRGH nodded his head, and we all climbed. "Are we too heavy?" I asked

"No." He grunted, and we galloped our way through the woods.

Once it had turned dark, Trixy and I jumped off ARRRGH's back, and I took the cloak as well. I recited the words, and the wings sprouted to life once more on my back. Trixy jumped on my back. When she was secure, I took flight. I kept my eyes on the ground watching. Turning my head to the side, after what seemed like two more hours, I found what I was looking for. I made a suddenly divided towards the ground causing Trixy to yelp and grab onto me tighter. I stopped right in front of the tree. "Don't you ever do that without telling me first," Trixy swore.

I didn't answer. I traced my finger lightly across the bark of the unusually large tree. I found the circle and traced my finger on it. I was hesitating. But why? I know this is where my other family was. My long lost brother probably too. So why was I scared? Maybe it was because of how long I have been away. Perhaps I was scared of what Solis would think of me. Perhaps it was the thought of finally coming face to face with my brother when he probably doesn't even know I exist. "Hey, Carya are you okay," Trixy asked putting a hand on my shoulder waking me from my trance

"What? Oh yeah, I'm fine. Let's just wait for the others." I said jerking my hand away from the tree and sat down on the grass.

Trixy looked at me funny but just flopped down on the grass next to me. Heavy footsteps hitting the ground announced the arrival of the others. They came galloping the clearing and Toby, and Rex got off of ARRRGH. "Is this the place?" Rex asked me.

I nodded my head unable to speak. "How do we get in?" Toby asked walking forward to touch the tree.

"Stand back," I said, and they stood back as I stepped forward.

"Great tree guardian please grant entrance to the place that I call Crystal Cavern. I am Carya Lake guardian of the crystal of Alorahcon, Elemental of fire."

The tee started to glow bright green. I raised my hands and closed my eyes as the light encased me. As I opened my eyes a doorway appeared in the tree. Walking forward I looked back and motioned for the others to follow.
