♠Andy’s POV♠
The week went by really quickly and I took every opportunity I had to seem normal around Cameron. In all honesty, the guilt was chewing me up on the inside. The way he smiles at me, the way he touches me, brings me back into a regretful state of mind. No matter how hard I try to get this disgusting feeling off my chest, the harder it is.
Today, being Monday was the first day of work for me. God, was I excited or what? Note the sarcasm. There was nothing that I wanted better than to stay another week at my house. Going to work meant talking to persons and giving them advice. How was I supposed to do so and I can’t advise myself.
Letting out a yawn, I rolled off my side of the bed. Cameron was still asleep because he claims to be working an afternoon shift today. Though it has bothered me many times before, I never really had the guts to ask him where he worked. I didn’t want to seem like the nosey girlfriend, if you know what I mean.
One, I knew that he was no longer involved with anymore gang business because he promised me that he would leave the gang. I took his work for it and I still trust him for that matter. He did say that he was studying medicine before he left for college. So I guess that he worked in the hospital or somewhere of that sort.
Stretching my hands out, I yawn again because I feel extremely tired all of a sudden. I made my way to the attached bathroom and took a look at myself in the mirror. Shaking my head, I combed my fingers through my hair in disappointment.
Oh come on! At least once, can I wake up looking like a normal person and not some wild animal? It’s a good thing I don’t go camping, then, I’d be at risk of being caught by the government.
Putting the matter of my hair aside, I took a quick bath, brushed my teeth and broke three combs trying to fix my hair. All my years on earth, I admired persons with long hair but now I regret ever obtaining long hair myself.
I got dressed in my classy black and white suit. It consisted of a white under-top, a black button down jacket and a pair of work pants. Arguing with myself, I then decided to wear four inch heels instead of my regular flats. Satisfied with my outfit, I flat ironed my hair so than it hang down my back.
Walking around our king size bed, I planted a soft kiss on Cameron’s cheeks and then made my way downstairs. As I approached the stairs, the smell of blueberry pancakes and coffee filled the house. A smile mad its way to my face.
Entering the kitchen, I find Anna placing the last set of pancakes on the counter. She looked so beautiful and at piece when she was in the kitchen. In a way I felt jealous. Her job seemed way much easier than mine. The sad thing was, I couldn’t cook or clean so there was no way I would choose being a ‘helper’ as an occupation.
“Morning Anna,” I greet, taking a seat at the small table in the corner of the large kitchen.
“Morning Andy, how was your night’s rest?” She asks, trying to make conversation as she brought me my breakfast. I answered her question with a quick, “Great and tranquil,” and then I dug into those blueberry goodness!
I don’t know, but from since I was younger, blueberry pancakes have always been an addiction. There was no way of me getting over them and I knew it. They made my insides feel like rainbows humping unicorns. In other terms, it made my stomach feel the impossible and I liked that.
Anna and I chatted over our meal for a few minutes until I realized that I needed to get out of the house and fast. As I drove to the building where my office was assigned I couldn’t help but smirk at my new ride. Cameron was a little too generous on birthday presents so he bought me an Aston too. Just to say mine was in pink.
I arrived at the modern looking building in no time. The place was covered in glass but it was tinted so you couldn’t see the inside obviously. Walking up to the building, I held my work bag and suitcase in my hand.
The funny thing was; the suitcase was empty… I just took it for style. Hey! Don’t blame me for wanting to look professional. Ha-ha, anyone who took a look at me would think that I was so experienced and would never guess that today was my first day actually working.
Walking through the automatic front doors, the air conditioning enveloped my body at once. The place even smelled new. Persons were also just walking in and approached the huge desk parallel to the front doors. Many persons greeted me as they passed me by. Still taking the place into account I stood still.
There were high ceilings, a waiting room with chairs which were tempting me at the moment. An elevator and a staircase could be seen and two long hallways on each side of the waiting room. The place had so much light coming in.
Nodding in satisfaction I decide to walk up to the front desk. As I stood in front of the attendant, she eyes me from her seat. Looking me up and down from behind the frames of those huge glasses, I could tell she already didn’t like me too well.
She didn’t appear to be too tall. Her hair was cut short and landed perfectly on her shoulders in waves. This lady had hazel eyes which blended well with her dark brown hair. Her skin wasn’t as tanned as mine but a little pale. A chubby little frame formed this woman. If my calculations are correct, I could tell that she was in her last twenties, lived at her own place all alone and needs sex more than a dog in heat.
“You must be Andy Jacob, am I right?” She asks, her voice coming out stiff but yet still professional at the same time.
“Yes I am… Minerva,” I respond, squinting at her name tag to make sure that I said her name correctly. She shifts in her chair and then types a few things into her huge computer.
“Tall, blonde, curvy, grey eyes and seems to space out a little. The boss was right on track with his description of you but I’ll still need to see your ID,” She says, only smiling to herself when she gave the description of me. But if I be damned, when have I spaced out for the morning?
You sure are forgetful too Andy. Remember when you entered, you spaced out for a good five minutes before you approached the front desk. My sub conscience reminds me and I couldn’t help but let out an internal groan.
Doing as told, I dug into my bag in search of my ID card. Finding it in less than a minute, I hand it to Minerva and watch as she observes it. Nodding, she hands me the piece of plastic along with another ID card. This card was a work one so that I don’t need to come to the front desk on a daily basis.
“Thanks,” I say.
“Walk down the hall to your right, the boss, Mr. Parnell is already waiting for you in your office. Don’t worry, your name is already placed over your office’s door so it won’t be hard to find,” She informs me and I simply nod to indicate that I understand.
Walking down the hallway, I entered a place packed with doors on the opposite walls. Luckily for me, my name began with the first letter of the alphabet so my office was one of the first ones. I liked the way that this place operated because I truly appreciated seeing my name on my office door like this.
Andy Jacob
Room #10
Psychologist
Pushing the door open, I frown at the site of how plain the room looked. My desk was placed in the middle of the room with my chair and a chair for the client. To the left of the room were a comfortable looking lounge chair and a not so appealing plastic chair. To the right of the room were shelves and files for folders and books.
I let out a sigh, walked into the room and closed the door after myself. There was a wall of glass along my office and a door I didn’t notice earlier. The word ‘washroom’ was placed at the top of the door. Oh well at least it was convenient.
Walking up to my desk, I take a seat on the cushiony chair. A soft moan escaped my lips at how soft it felt. My suitcase was placed on the floor next to my desk because I didn’t really have a purpose and my bag was laid on it. Getting relaxed with the space, I twirl my chair around because I always enjoyed the feel of it.
“Oh, I see that someone’s already getting used to the space provided. Welcome to my building Andy, I hope that you’ll enjoy working here.”
The voice of a man in his early forties snapped me out of my little childish session. Turning the chair around to face this man I could instinctively tell that he was the boss. Well apart from him saying that this was his building…
He was tall, dressed in the sheik way all rich men dressed and he didn’t look like his age at all. I knew that he was forty three because it said so on his website but he didn’t look a day over thirty-five to be quite honest. He wasn’t even greying yet.
“Nice meeting you in person Mr. Parnell and hope to enjoy working here as well,” I say, getting up and extending him a hand. He gladly takes hold of it, his light blue eyes never leaving my grey ones. He smiles at me and I return the gesture as we let go of each other’s hands.
“Well it was good seeing that you are quite early this morning Ms. Jacob. Being just on time, your first client is here,” He announces, taking a quick glance at the clock which was on the wall. “You’re not the only one who’s early this morning, so is your client.”
“On your way out could you please let the person in?” I question, seeing that Mr. Parnell was already dismissing himself and heading towards the door.
“Will do. He’s in the waiting room so he might take a while to come.”
I nod in understanding. Rummaging the draws of my desk, I search for a notepad and a pen because I knew that there would be a lot of things to take note of. Luckily for me, the first draw I pulled open had everything I needed in it.
As soon as I lifted my head to take a quick glance at the door which I head opening, all air was kicked out of my lungs. Now standing in my office was a tall, greenish-brownish colored eyed, perfectly tanned and well sculpted person who was currently smirking at me. I gulp, knowing this person a little too well for my liking.
My heart beat accelerated out of fear, guilt, sadness and regret. How the hell. No, why the f*ck was this person here now of all times. Why!? What game was fate trying to play on me? ‘What have I done to deserve what is happening to me now?’ I question myself, swallowing the lump in my throat.
You know full well what you did Andy. You slept with that guy and now fate is trying to tell you to face your fears.
“L-Luke,” I stammered, trying my best to hold eye contact with the guy.
“Andy,” He smirks even deeper than before. By the look on his face, I realized that this would be an extremely long hour of my time.
A/N: Oooo so finally one of the guys Andy slept with has been revealed! Keeping my promise, I updates :D I hope you enjoyed this chapter even though it didn't have any excitement :p
