Prologue
Arrival
A FEW MONTHS AGO . . .
BLONDE Hair stringed around the light colored face as the light shone throughout the spacious room, as there was a figure still lying in bed peacefully. As you could see the light blonde hair had a more dirty blonde center at top, and the light skin the further you go down being more darker by natural tan.
“McKenna.” A voice sounded down the hall yelling into the peaceful room, “It’s seven-fifteen in the morning.” The voice continued as the human's blue eyes opened fastly. My body then moves quickly due to my superspeed as I arrive at my chair before my mirror. I glance at my phone to see a text,
“Remember to be here at Seven-Thirty McKenna or I will leave you. Are you even up yet?” The message said as I knew it was from Yolanda's mom texting for Yolanda since she can't have her phone. Who also always seemed to know more about me than myself, including me getting up later.
I looked in the mirror and saw my hair that was scattered all around my face as I used my brush fastly to get all my hair in a decent manner. Before I even knew it I heard footsteps sounding closer and closer to my door. Knowing it was my mother as I quickly went and closed the window, and curtains before she walked in the room.
“Good Morning Mom.” I said as she opened the door and looked at my room knowing I just closed my window, “Aren’t you supposed to be with Yolanda in twelve minutes?” She asked me as I looked at my phone. “I’ll see you in five mom.” I told her as she laughed and walked out of my room.
I ran to my closet and grabbed my white turtleneck tank top, dark blue jeans, and my blue and red checkerboard flannel and then quickly changed putting my flannel over my tank top. Before I left my closet I quickly grabbed my black boots and slid them on just walking out of my closet especially after the last time.
Burning my boots was not ideal going as fast as I could from my closet to the kitchen downstairs. As it smelt like burning rubber for four hours. Which could have been better if Wallance wasn’t here and running in rubber sandals at more faster than an average man running around a track ten times and then multiplying that by one hundred or even a thousand. My mother did ban both of us from wearing rubber while using our superspeed including near the kitchen.
I quickly then put a light hint of makeup on my face, as I returned to my mirror, and then grabbed my phone and then all my homework and essentials and put them in my backpack as I walked down the stairs to the kitchen.
Ever since I was five it was just me and my mom, after the whole Justice Society killed my father. We did meet some of his friends who are the Allen’s. And how Barry Allen and Wally West have superspeed like my father and they both are also Flash’s for Central City. Along with Ruby Allen who was too young to join the Justice Society so she stayed in touch with a few members who were like her mentors.
I see the Allen’s a few times a year, and Wally or Wallance is to come here in the next month or so after blowing up a factory on accident, and so Barry could let Wally see more in the world, being his cousin in marriage and all. And at least then I will have someone else in this house to talk to after Yolanda goes home every night.
Before I knew it my phone said it was seven-twenty five as I walked in the kitchen to grab a banana and grab my lunch. “Tell Yolanda hi for me, and I’ll see you later. Mckenna have a good day.” My mother yelled as I ran out my door quickly heading down the stairs heading down to the end of the block.
Once I arrived I watched as Yolanda came off from her porch, as she walked down as I knew she just wanted to leave before anything else could happen. After what happened with Henry, I want to kill him some days along with his new girlfriend and the school’s biggest bully and snotty popular Cindy.
As we walked around the town we were being stared at as some people said hi to me, then they saw Yolanda and scoffed. Since most people know what Yolanda did she just frowned and continued walking faster as we both knew what would happen when we arrived at school. The story of how it became like this, that’s for another time and day.
Before I could think again we arrived in the parking lot of Blue Valley Highschool, where popular people do whatever. While fewer people just try to survive like every highschool stereotypically. As we walked to our lockers that were right next to another there was red spray paint on Yolanda saying words that are all too familiar from what happened only a few months ago.
SLUT. It said again as everyone started looking and laughing and talking behind our backs as Yolanda walked away after grabbing what she needed from her locker faster. I quickly grab my books before looking at the words knowing that it was probably Cindy or one of her friends.
As I closed my locker heading to the Physics classroom early knowing Yolanda would be near there, she just wished she never did what she did, because she would be so much more then. She would have something more than she does right now. Her family doesn’t even talk to her that much.
She used to be close to her brother especially before this happened, and she used to smile more and wear more dresses, and nice clothing than the more sweaters and sweatpants now.
I walked to see Yolanda at the end of the hallway as she was waiting for the teacher to get in as I went up to her as she looked up at me.
After we knew it the bell had rung today.
Later on that day… I was heading home after dropping Yolanda off and I was heading into my house knowing that after today of another day of Henry Jr. terrorizing Yolanda and then treating me and her like losers, that I will need to do something to get my mind off of that. And how bad some of the classes got.
When I started to open the door I saw the house had more stains from someone running over it. I dropped my bag as I did a quick run around the whole house until I stopped in the living room to see Wallace West on my mother's new couch which she would be mad at Wally if he stained it.
"When did you get here?" I asked Wally as my mother told me he wouldn't be here for another week or so. As my voice sounded more shocked than happy as he looked at me with a grin.
"About three hours ago since I do not have to attend this school you go to yet." He said as he smirked still and was eating a bag of chips now as I saw him quickly move to grab them.
"Yeah so you decide to come in the house without anyone knowing. Not stopping by or even calling me after school. And then eating chips on my mom's new white sofa. I wonder why Uncle Barry wanted you here." I told him snotty and a bit sassy towards him. As he looked at me.
"I came here because Barry wanted me to be more of a kid and to learn how to be a kid before wanting to do anything more." He said as I interrupted his sentence.
"Superhero business or Justice League or whatever they like to call the small group of heroes. Unlike you I have all the kid side and all the knowledge without all the training. No doubt that I don't know how to do what you do but I still have my flaws." I told him flopping next to him as my blonde hair fell in my eyes.
"So we both have one side but not the other. Unlike Uncle Barry and your father." He said as I smiled as he looked at me as I laughed.
"I realized the one difference is that I can use my speed here more than you. And that I gained my speed from my father unlike you who did an experiment like Uncle Barry." I told him as he glared at me and I laughed. And before I knew it he hit me with a pillow.
I glared at him before Superspeeding to my room and looking out my window as I went to change into more comfortable clothing.
I know one thing for sure I might kill Wallance West before the end of the night.
But this year is going to be a long year…
