The sound of heavy leather boots stepping on rustling leaves echoed within the vast forest. Karowa Ardeno wandered mindlessly along the beaten track of the infamous Serqua forest, taking in the peaceful scenery of the place. She usually liked to let herself wander through the woods, and it gave her an unwanted chance to escape from her responsibilities.

Karowa was a hunter and caretaker for the small city she lived in, and she took her jobs seriously. But occasionally she was advised, or forced, to take all-day breaks, even if she wanted to refuse a short holiday.

"Karowa," a young voice called out from behind, "Hey! Behind you!"

Karowa looked around to see Sena, her friend, or more like sister-from-another-mister. She often roamed the forest in her free time, between babysitting the city's young children (there aren't many, don't worry, the city is quite small) and helping her grandfather with his crafts. But she also loved to wander the forest with Karowa, talking with her to pass the time.

"Oh, hey Sena." Karowa spoke in her usual, blunt manner, as Sena ran up to her.

"Karowa, you'll never believe what's happening right now!" Sena replied, grabbing Karowa's wrist gently and dragging her in the direction Sena had come from. They ran heavily and quickly to Sena's 'Astronomy House', but stopped right outside the front door to breathe.

"What's going on, Sena? It can't be too serious... can it?" Karowa sighed, resting against the house. Sena took a while to answer, but spoke eventually, her breath heavy and slow.

"It's the First Order. They're here."

Karowa looked at Sena in pure confusion.

"The what?-"

"Just come with me!"

Yet again, Sena grabbed Karowa's wrist, and led her up the astronomy house's large staircase, up to the large glass dome perched on the roof. The two of them looked out of the dome, and Sena watched as Karowa's expression changed from confusion to surprise.

"What the hell are those?!" Karowa exclaimed, looking at a series of menacing, grey starships gliding slowly above the planet.

"That's the First Order, and their fleet of starships. I don't know why they're here, or what they want, but it can't be good, can it?"

"No, it can't be..."

The duo watched as more smaller ships flew down towards the city, their contents being stormtroopers holding the most bulky of guns.

"Oh god... we need to get to the city. Now." Sena spoke, rushing down the stairs. Karowa quickly followed behind.

It took no time at all to reach the city, and the sight that greeted them was awful. Buildings were starting to burn, bodies were falling to the ground, and at every corner there were at least a few members of the First Order fighting against the residents of the city.

Sena had rushed off to find her grandfather, and had left Karowa to look at the devastating site before her. She tried to run off in the opposite direction but was almost caught by stormtroopers, leaving her no option but to hide behind a large pile of debris, until the chaos stopped.

'Why did I even bother to come?' Karowa thought, 'I just knew something bad would happen...'

She sat down quietly on the floor, and tried to hide in the shadows.

She just hoped that she'd make it out alive in the end...
