Chapter 23 - Back Home
Aura's P.O.V.
We arrived back on Cybertron later that afternoon. Everyone was excited to take it easy now that all this craziness was over. I smiled and moved closer to Smokescreen, holding his hand.
"Happy to be back home?" He asked me. "Definatly." I replied. Avis landed the ship at the spaceport near Iacon and everyone proceeded out. Eve had officially fallen asleep during the ride and she was carried out by Knockout. I looked at Cybertron and smiled. It had been far too long since I'd last been here. I had missed it terribly, and it was such a relief to finally be back.
"Home sweet home!" cheered Wheeljack. He and the boys piled out while the girls followed. I was the last one to step out of the plane and on to the steps when I spotted all the mechs in two rows facing each other. Smokescreen, Mirage, and Bumblebee were on my left while Wheeljack, Bulkhead and Ultra Magnus were on my right.
"Aura, let us be the first to say, welcome back to Cybertron." said Ultra Magnus. The mechs placed their fists over their sparks as they kneeled, and bowed their heads before me.
I smiled. "Rise. And thank you. For saving me."
"Nothing to it your highness." replied Wheeljack. "It was our pleasure." said Smokescreen as the six of them rose.
I walked forward to Smokescreen and hugged him tightly. "Thank you, 'Smoke, for everything," I whispered.
"Your welcome Aura." he replied, returning the hug. "Aren't you happy to see someone else as well?" joked a mech. I looked to see Ultra Magnus looking up at me. I parted from Smokescreen's hug and he directed me to the commander with a smile. I ran over and hugged him. "I missed you father."
"As did I, Aura," he said quietly. "We all did. It's good to have you back." "It's good to be back." I replied.
He finally released me and I stepped back, smiling at all of my gathered friends. "Alright, everyone get some rest. Cause later tonight I'm throwing a party at my place to celebrate!" said Wheeljack. Everyone had smiles on their faces as they cheered. "Alright you heard the Wreacker, lets head on home." I Commanded.
We all headed home, bright smiles on our face plates. Excitement crackled like electricity in the air at the proposal of a party; one thrown by Wheeljack, no less. Once everyone was home, I had a stasis nap for a bit. Then I woke up and looked out on the balcony, checking out the view of Iacon. Just like I remembered, it was beautiful.
I really had missed this place. It was such a relief to be home.
"Aura!"
I looked down over the balcony to see Smokescreen. A smile came up on my face. "Smokescreen!" I greeted brightly. "What's up? Jackie's party isn't for another hour." "I wanted to show you something! Can you come down?" he asked.
"Of course." I ran through the palace and didn't stop until I was before him. "So, what did you want to show me?"
"It's a surprise." Smokescreen replied. "Follow me." he transformed into his vehicle mode and revved his engine. I did the same, and followed him through the city and just outside it. "Where are we going?"
"You'll see soon enough. I think you'll like it."
We drove a bit further until finally Smokescreen stopped and transformed into his robot mode. I did the same, following him through a path. "Check it out."
He waved his hand forward and I took a look forward and my optics widened. It was an energon grotto. An energon look sailed through the ground with a raft anchored near by, with a waterfall. Energon crystals of all shapes and colours illuminated the area.
"Wow," I breathed. "Smokescreen… this is beautiful. It's amazing."
"You like it?" he asked. "Like it? I love it!" I cheered. "Lets check it out." I raced forward, anxious to get a good look around. Smokescreen followed me with a chuckle. As the two of us walked, I noticed the energon crystals glowing. But not all at once, each of them went off at a certain rythem. Each coloured crystal made a different sound. Almost like, it was playing a song.
"That song... It sounds so familiar." I whispered. "You've heard it before?" asked Smokescreen with curiosity. "Yes I have, but it's been so long." I answered. "Maybe I could help shed some light on that?" suggested Smokescreen. "Oh yeah? How?" I asked. I heard a male voice whisper all around us. Each word it spoke echoed all around the grotto, lighting up the energon crystals.
"Percussion,
Strings,
Winds,
Words."
A realization hit me. I did know this song! It was a song that I haven't heard since I was little. But it couldn't be, could it? And I reconized that voice too. I looked up to see a small Cybertronian mech sitting at the edge of a cliff, watching me and Smokescreen. He had a white armour plating with black highlights and a blue visor. But with that voice, it couldn't be him. I squinted my optics and saw a human face behind the visor. "Take it away Smoke'." said Cole.
Cole?! How did he get here?! Before I could react to his voice, Smokescreen spoke up. Or rather, he sang. To me.
"There I see her,
Sitting there across the way
She don't got a lot to say,
But there's something about her.
If I don't why but I'm dying to try I wanna
Kiss the girl."
I wide smile came across my face as I covered my mouth in shock. He set this whole thing up. Just for me. He walked over to me, taking my servos on his.
"Yes, I want her
Look at her I know I do.
Possible she wants me to,
There is one way to ask her.
It don't take a word, not a single word,
Go on and kiss the girl."
I set out a small laugh as the both of us spun around, hand in hand, then we both ran through the grotto. We ran past the crystals lighting up, it was incredible. The crystals iluminated with the sound of Smokescreen and Cole's voice. Cole stood up, going for the chorus.
"Sha-la-la-la-la-la my oh my,
Look at that boy too shy, ain't gonna kiss the girl.
Sha-la-la-la-la-la ain't that sad,
Ain't that shame, too bad,
Your gonna miss the girl."
"Hey! How says I'm going to lose her?" asked Smokescreen with a smirk as he looked up at my human brother. "Hey don't blame me, I'm just following along with the song! It's in the lyrics!" replied Cole. "Yeah, yeah, yeah." said Smokescreen with a laugh as he waved at Cole. The both of us walked over the raft that was anchored at the lake and hooped on. Smokescreen got us a float and we sailed down the river, Smokescreen piloting it.
"Now's my moment,
floating in a blue lagoon.
Boy I better do it soon, no time will be better."
I looked up at Smokescreen with a smile, listening to his voice. As I listened to the song, I remembered the next verse that was coming. So, I decided to have a little fun with him.
"I won't say a word, not a single word,
Until you kiss the girl."
He smiled down at me as he pulled the paddle out of the energon, setting it down on the raft and taking a seat next to me, resting his arm around my shoulders pulling me into a hug.
"Sha-la-la-la-la-la, don't be scared,
I got the mood prepared,
Go on and kiss the girl.
Sha-la-la-la-la-la, don't stop now.
Don't try to hide it now,
I wanna kiss the girl."
I looked up at him, my optics slightly tearing up with joy. I couldn't believe he was doing this, all for me.
"Sha-la-la-la-la-la float along,
and listen to the song,
The song say kiss the girl.
Sha-la-la-la-la-la music play,
Do what the music say,
I wanna kiss the girl."
As the crystals played the song in the background, me and Smokescreen faced each other, optics locked on. I blushed slightly, looking away. Smokescreen cupped my chin with his servo and gently made me face him. He smiled at me. The music got a bit more intense and loud as our faces moved closer, and closer to each other, optics closing and preparing to make the move....
"HEY GUYS!"
The both of us flinched from the outburst as I fell backwards. Smokescreen caught my arm but he ended up falling with me and we both ended up falling right into the lake. Our heads sprang out as we couched and spitted the energon out of our mouths. "What the slag?!" said Smokescreen.
"Miko! Look what you did! Can't you see I was trying to help a bro out?!" asked Cole in frustration. Me and Smokescreen looked up at the cliff to see another Cybertronian armour set with Cole. This one was white with purple highlights and of course other than Cole's outburst, I could tell that it was Miko. "Helping out a bro, what are you talking about?" asked Miko as she turned her head and spotted me and Smokescreen in the lake.
"Opps! I'm so sorry you guys!" apoligzed Miko. "It's okay Miko. Ironically enough, this was how that scene in the movie ended anyway." I replied. "What are you doing here?" asked Smokescreen. "I am looking for you guys. Wheeljack's party is starting he wants us all there before the rest of the party guests show up." explained Miko.
"Okay, we'll be right there." said Smokescreen. Miko nodded in reply as she took off running, Cole tagging a long with her. Me and Smokescreen swam and climbbed back on the raft. "Sorry our moment was so rudely interupted." said Smokescreen. "It's okay Smoke'. I'm sure it will happen again some other time." I replied. "Now don't we have a party to get to?" "Yes your majesty." said Smokescreen with a bow.
