Chapter 2 - Another Day of Waiting

Aura's P.O.V.

I was taking a look around the Well of Allsparks, the well spring of future generations of Cybertronians, and soon one day, my future people. I stepped on one of the platforms and looked down through the giant tunnel that lead to the core of our planet. Primus himself. Optimus's new home. Why did you have to go Optimus. I know it was the right thing to do to keep the Allspark away from Unicron, but did you have to leave so soon? I watched as blue and green dots of light shot out one by one for a few seconds out of the well. New Cybertronians are being born now. Cybertron is repopulating again, as it should be. But why do I feel so alone? I still have Ultra Magnus, and all of my good friends. But Optimus is gone. I miss him so much! As I left the well I spotted a light blue and silver Suzuki V-Storm DL650 Motorcycle driving towards me. "Hey Aura!" called out the motorcycle as it transformed into tis robot mode. The Cybertronian that came towards me was female with a similar light blue colour scheme but with silver highlights.

"Hi Lunar." I replied with a smile. Her full name was Lunarspeed but we like to call her Lunar for short. While not on duty Lunar is a fun and joyful Cybertronian to be around. "I had a feeling I'd find you here." said Lunar. "A feeling? I've been coming here almost every day for the past month." I reminded. "I knew that." replied Lunar with a laugh. We both walked back to Iacon together and walked and talked through the plaza. "You've been kind of quite about this whole King thing for a while now. Did you choose the lucky guy yet?" she asked. "No, not yet. But I'll find him some day Lunar. You'll see." I answered. "So this, lets call him 'Fantasy Man', do you happen to know if he's going to be royalty?" asked Lunar.

Royalty? "Why? Does it matter?" I asked in curiosity. "Well, as you know someone of your royal status, if you don't choose someone soon then you'll have to marry and or rule along side someone from a court of royal blood." explained Lunar. I felt like I just got splashed in the face with cold energon. I completely forgot about that law! Now wonder I felt like my father was giving me a hard time about it! "Ugh! What a royal pain!" I complained. "Your highness, if I may say, your going to have to pick someone sooner or later. I mean tick tock huh?" said Lunar. "But Lunar I can't just pick someone I'm not in a relationship with, let alone even not no the guy!" I stated. "You want love?" ask Lunar. She walked over to a pet store and picked up a small robotic puppy. "By a sparkplug." she finished as she put the pet back down. I gave her a amusing smirk as we continued back to the palace. "And besides,  you can't expect the right guy to be crowned to just walk through the door! And even if he does how are going to know that he's the one?" asked Lunar.

"I don't know. And please, don't make it into one of those romantic stuff we make fun of on Holo-TV!" I begged. "Too late! Already am!" she declared. We both entered the palace and Lunar was just spinning around like a love struck teen. "Come on, just imagine it! He'd strive into the room. A lightful glow on him!" said Lunar. "Come on, I haven't thought of something like that sense I was a protoform!" I said with a laugh. "It's fun! You'll hear music, he'd bring you flowers, and sweep you off your feet. And to finish it off, you'll know he's the one when he makes you laugh!" said Lunar. "Lunar, forgive me when I say this but, it does sound lovely and all. But it just isn't me." I replied. "Well of course not! I was talking about the things I want to see in a guy!" she corrected.

I couldn't help but laugh at that last statement. Lunar could be a real joker sometimes. "Trust me Lunar, I'll find him soon enough." I assured. "I know before that the likeliest of choices would have been Optimus Prime, but now that he's one with the Allspark you've kid of hit a speed bump." said Lunar. "Yeah I know. I miss the big guy a lot. I have to learn to live on without him, or I could ruin Cybertrons future! Not just for me but for everyone on this planet." I explained.

************

Ultra Magnus's P.O.V.

I was driving through the streets of Iacon. Busy merchants passed by running their businesses. I transformed into my robot mode and walked towards the former Cybertron Command building. This was now Iacon's new Elite Guard Police station. "Morning sir!" called out a voice. I looked to my left to see Knockout running his upgrades shop next door. "Good morning to you Knockout." I replied. "Has Aura made her decision yet?" asked Knockout. "Not yet. Kids these days." I replied with a small laugh. "Ah, I'm sure she'll make her decision soon," Knockout responded. I sighed and shook my helm. "I hope so," I said, though my voice lacked conviction. At this rate, I doubted Aura was ever going to be able to decide! I turned back to Knockout. "I must head on my way," I said, and Knockout nodded. "Good day, sir!" Knockout called as I walked through the entrance to the Elite Guard Police station.

As I walked through the halls, Cybertronian police officers or cadets in training stopped their conversations and saluted me as I walked by. I entered a room down the hall that was filed with maps that engraved different parts of Cybertron and databanks of cases. Bumblebee and Smokescreen, the two leaders of the Elite Guard were inside. "Ultra Magnus. Welcome back sir." said Bumblebee. "Good to be back, soldier," I responded. I inclined my helm in Smokescreen's direction. "Smokescreen," I greeted. "Sir!" Smokescreen said and saluted.

"How goes the search for our rogue Decepticon?" I inquired. Bumblebee shook his helm. "Not too well, sir." He indicated to the map. "Shockwave's keeping himself well hidden. The only trace of him we've found are his Insecticons." "Even the information on his research bases we collected from Darkmount isn't helping," Smokescreen input. He sounded rather frustrated by this fact. "But we'll find him soon. Shockwave can't remain hidden forever." "No he can not. We're near our goal of having one year of peace here on Cybertron. We need to make sure Shockwave doesn't ruin that to us or any of our inhabitants." I said. "We currently have some squadrons searching the Hydrax Platue. They'll work there way through the Sea of Rust, then take a look at the Six Lasers Amusment Park." explained Bumblebee. "Once we know its clear and safe, Bulkhead and his crew can start the reconstruction to open it up to the people." added Smokescreen. "And good thing too. The protoforms are starting to get antsy with almost little amusement to keep them occupied." pointed out Wildstrike as he entered the room with a data pad.

Wildstrike is Bumblebee's older brother, he was part of Cybertrons Police Force before the war on Cybertron. "Just got word from the squad. Hydrax is clear, moving on to the Sea of Rust." Bumblebee smiled and greets his brother before returning to the situation at hand. "That's another area clear with no sign of Shockwave." He checked the map and crossed off another area. "He's running out of places to hide." "Which is good," Smokescreen said triumphantly. "When that happens, we can corner that one-eyed 'Con and put an end to him." "How long do they think it will take to search the Sea of Rust?" Bumblebee asks Wildstrike. "They're hoping for five cycles, considering the size of the Sea of Rust," Wildstrike responds after checking his data pad.  Bumblebee nodded in acknowledgement and then sighed. "I'll feel a lot more at ease once Shockwave's caught and poses no more threat to those returning here."

"As we all do Bumblebee." I reminded. "I feel this situation is going easier than Aura's." "Has her highness made a decision yet?" asked Wildstrike. "Not yet. I fear if she doesn't pick someone soon, she'll be forced to follow the Royal Blood Code." I answered. "Code? What's that?" asked Smokescreen. "Bumblebee, enlighten us please." I ordered. Bumblebee brought out another datapad and brought the law codes of Cybertron still affective even after the war. "here it is. If a royal member of Cybertronian cout, in this case Aura, has not choosen a new king then that member of the court will be forced into an arranged marriage with another royal blood line." explained Bumblebee.

"Oh." Smokescreen frowned. "But… what if she doesn't like the mech she's forced to marry?" I shook my helm. "I'm afraid Aura will have no choice in the matter," I said, though I did feel a little guilty that had to be the case. He don't want that to happen to Aura. "Oh," Smokescreen said again. He looked concerned. Aura was a good friend of his, after all. "Does she have anyone in mind?" Wildstrike questioned. "If she does, she's not being very clear on it," I informed him, sounding the slightest exasperated. Bumblebee placed the data pad down. "I hope she decides on someone soon," he said. "I don't think any of us wish that upon Aura."

A guilty silence fell on the four Cybertronians. If the Princess didn't choose someone soon, the balance of power might not end up in her favour. "Speaking of which, what other blood lines are there?" asked Wildstrike. "At the moment we have Ransack of Velositron , the speed planet. Other of our planetary partners are still being rebuilt because of the war." I said. "Ransack? You mean that good for nothing creep who partnered with Megatron back in the war?" asked Bumblebee in shock. "I'm afraid so." I answered.

There was a quick silence as they all processed this information. Then Smokescreen slammed his servo on the table, surprising the other three mechs with the sudden noise. "That's not fair!" he exclaimed, fairly aggressively. "After all we've done to destroy those who sided with Megatron, Aura is forced to marry one of them?" He glared at the floor. "She deserves better than that creep," Wildstrike agreed, his optics narrowed. Bumblebee nodded. "I think we're all in agreement with that statement." Aura was one of the nicest 'Bots they all knew. She most definitely deserved someone other than a Decepticon-siding creep. I lifted my servo. "Hold on, we're getting ahead of ourselves here," I pointed out. The other three turned to listen to me. "Aura still has time to decide. Let us hope that she chooses before we have to resort to Ransack."

"Yes sir." the three mechs replied as they let their heads down. "Alright, lets try to focus back on locating Shockwave for now alright?" suggested Bumblebee. "Fine. But I'm not dropping this." replied Smokescreen as he left the room.
