Chapter 44

Third person's pov

Hyunjae woke up in the hospital room, his eyes blinking against the harsh overhead lights. He felt a cold sensation in his hand and glanced down to see an IV needle taped to his skin.

Blinking a few more times to clear his vision, he turned his head and saw Soohyun talking to someone else. Squinting, he recognized the person as Jaekhyung.

"Mr. Min?" Hyunjae croaked, his voice hoarse.

Both Soohyun and Jaekhyung turned their attention to him. Soohyun approached the bed, a look of concern on her face. "How do you feel?" she asked, her hand resting lightly on his shoulder.

"Better," Hyunjae replied, his voice steadier this time. He turned to Jaekhyung. "Mr. Min, what are you doing here?"

Jaekhyung stepped closer, with a small smile. "Sir, my elder brother is admitted to this hospital. I was walking by when I saw the small crowd and realized it was you... You bumped into me and then passed out."

Hyunjae thought back to the hazy moments before he lost consciousness. "So it was you," he murmured. "Thank you, Mr. Min."

His heart pounded, knowing that it was Jaekhyung who had held him so softly.

Jaekhyung bowed slightly. "Sir, take care of yourself." With that, he turned and left the room, leaving Hyunjae and Soohyun alone.

Soohyun kept her hand on Hyunjae's shoulder, squeezing gently. "Are you still feeling anxious?"

Hyunjae shook his head. "I'm fine," he said, though his hands were still trembling slightly. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath, and then opened them again. "What about the kid? Is he okay?"

"Don't worry," Soohyun reassured him. "Someone called the police in time. It turned out that the man was the kid's uncle. The kid is safe now."

Hyunjae nodded, though his expression was still troubled. "When will this end?" he asked, gesturing to the IV.

"Soon," Soohyun replied softly.

A heavy silence settled between them. Then Soohyun spoke up again, her voice hesitant. "If...if you are still anxious, you can tell me."

Hyunjae said nothing, his gaze fixed on his trembling hands. Soohyun noticed his unease and, swallowing her pride, moved closer and wrapped her arms around him in a hug.

Hyunjae stiffened at first, wanting to push her away, but then he melted into the embrace, his body shaking with silent sobs. He hugged her back slightly, his face buried in her shoulder.

Soohyun didn't know why, but her hands moved on their own, gently patting Hyunjae's back. "It's okay," she whispered.

Hyunjae sniffed, trying to regain his composure, but the comfort of Soohyun's embrace made it hard to hold back. He clung to her, feeling a strange feeling of relief.

After a few moments, he pulled back slightly, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand. "Thank you," he muttered, looking away.

Soohyun gave him a small smile. "It's no big deal," she said, her voice soft. "Everyone needs a hug sometimes."

"Even me, apparently."

Soohyun gently rested her hands on Hyunjae’s shoulders. “Sometimes when you’re feeling anxious, you can come to me,” she said softly.

“When my mom and dad passed away, I had nightmares and panic attacks for about a year. I understand this feeling.”

She patted Hyunjae’s back soothingly. Hyunjae managed a small smile. “Thank you, noona.”

Both of them were a bit shocked by this. Hyunjae hated to called her "noona" and mostly did when she threatened to tell Taehyung and Jungkook about it.

“By the way,” Hyunjae asked, his brow furrowing slightly, “you didn’t tell the others about this, right?”

Soohyun shook her head. “Of course not. It would have been chaotic.”

After Hyunjae's IV finished, Soohyun helped him get up and they headed back home.

The next day, Jungkook and Taehyung were on their way back in the private jet. Jungkook was in a happy mood, as he hadn’t experienced morning sickness that day. He looked cute and fluffy, first because of his oversized clothes and secondly because of his slight weight gain.

He was blabbering a lot about everything they would do when the baby comes and how excited he was to see everyone. “How cute will the baby’s clothes be?” he mused, eyes sparkling.

Taehyung was watching him with love, nodding and agreeing with everything. Jungkook’s energy was infectious.

Jungkook leaned his head on Taehyung’s shoulder, a content sigh escaping his lips. “By the way, why did you name your shop ‘Elegance Avenue’?”

Taehyung chuckled, pressing a kiss to Jungkook’s forehead. “I just thought it would be cool.”

Jungkook smiled, his cheeks rosy. “Will you name the shop the same again if you had to?”

Taehyung bopped Jungkook’s nose playfully. “Hmm, should I name it ‘Kookie’s Collection’?”

Jungkook blushed, nudging Taehyung’s side lightly. “Weird name.”

Taehyung laughed, pulling Jungkook closer. “You think so? I thought it was quite good.”

“Maybe it’s not that weird,” Jungkook admitted, snuggling into Taehyung’s side.

Taehyung rested his chin on Jungkook’s head.

It was almost night and in the Kim house, everyone was gathered in the living room. Hyunjae was trying to work on his laptop, but for some reason, he couldn't focus. Frustrated, he looked over at Taewon, who was lounging on the couch.

"Taewon, complete the rest of the profit file for me," Hyunjae demanded, his tone clipped.

Taewon didn’t even look up from his phone. "I refuse."

Hyunjae’s eyebrow twitched. "Mr. Kim, this isn’t a request."

Taewon finally glanced up, a smirk on his lips. "Mr. Park, we aren’t in the office, so stop this. I’m not going to do it."

"You will," Hyunjae insisted, his grip tightening on his laptop.

"No," Taewon replied, turning back to his phone.

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

Frustrated, Hyunjae grabbed a pillow and threw it at Taewon, but it missed and hit Heejin instead. She looked up from her book, eyes narrowing.

"Yah! Hyunjae, I’m also two days older than you, you should remember that and respect me," she said, before launching the pillow back at him.

"It was a mistake!" Hyunjae protested, but before he could explain, Taewon threw a pillow at him. Hyunjae quickly pulled Sujae in front of him, and the pillow hit Sujae instead. This started a pillow fight, with Soohyun being forcefully included.

Pillows flew through the air and shouts filling the room.

They were so engrossed in their game that they didn’t notice the front door opening. Taehyung and Jungkook walked in, suitcases in hand, and froze at the sight before them. The living room was a mess, feathers from burst pillows floating through the air.

A pillow was about to hit Jungkook when Taehyung intercepted it. "What on earth is going on here?"

Everyone turned to see Taehyung and Jungkook standing there, looking both shocked and amused. Sujae was the first to react, dropping his pillow and running to hug Jungkook, followed quickly by the others.

Soohyun, hugging Taehyung, asked, "Appa, it's only been a week. Weren’t you going to stay for 15 days?"

Taehyung sighed, "Jungkook was getting morning sickness and body aches every day. We weren’t able to fully enjoy, so I decided coming back might help."

Soohyun immediately turned her attention to Jungkook. "Mr. Park, are you feeling nauseous right now?"

Jungkook shook his head. "I’m fine."

"You should be careful, sweetheart." Hyunjae said, holding Jungkook's waist.

Jungkook smiled. "I know."

"How was your honeymoon ?" Taewon asked, wrapping an arm around Taehyung's shoulders.

"Great until the morning sickness decided to ruin it."

As they all settled down on the couches, Jungkook adjusted his oversized clothes. "If we look closely, you can see the baby bump," he said, pressing his hands on his belly to shape the fabric.

Everyone leaned in, fascinated. Sujae especially looked in awe. "Wow, you can really see it," he whispered, reaching out but stopping himself short, unsure if it was okay to touch.

Jungkook laughed softly, taking Sujae’s hand and placing it on his shirt. "It’s okay, you can feel it."

The next morning, the sun was barely up when Jungkook felt the urgent need to use the bathroom. He rubbed his eyes, his body feeling heavy and cumbersome due to his growing belly.

Groaning, he got out of bed and shuffled towards the nearest bathroom, clutching his abdomen protectively. Reaching the door, tried to open it, but it was lock.

"Is anyone in there?" he called out, gently knocking.

Heejin's voice came from inside. "I'll be out in 10 minutes, I am taking a shower!"

Jungkook bit his lip, his frustration mounting. He turned towards the other bathroom and knocked, this time more insistently.

Soohyun's voice came from behind the door. "I am inside."

Jungkook's emotions got the best of him, and tears welled up in his eyes. He leaned against the wall, feeling utterly helpless. The mood swings had been hard to control, and this was just too much.

Taehyung, had woken up from the bed, not finding Jungkook there. Thinking he must have gone to the bathroom, Taehyung went to the room only to find Jungkook crying.

He got really worried and cupped Jungkook’s face, "Baby, what's wrong?"

Jungkook sniffled, trying to wipe away the tears. "I... I need to use the bathroom, but both are occupied."

Taehyung gently rubbed his back in slow, soothing circles. "It's okay, love. Just breathe."

He knocked on the bathroom door where Soohyun was. "Please hurry."

As Soohyun came out, Jungkook rushed inside, closing the door behind him. When Jungkook finally came out, Taehyung pulled him into a comforting hug, "Do you want to go back to Park mansion love?"

Taehyung knew that Soohyun would definitely not like it but with 7 grown ups and only 2 bathrooms, it was really hard to manage.

Jungkook nodded, wiping away the last of his tears.

When Taehyung told others about it, Taewon and heejin had no problem but Soohyun did protested for a bit but then reluctantly agreed to it.

A few days later, they shifted to the park mansion. Taewon, Heejin, and Soohyun were more than surprised upon seeing the grandeur of the place. The mansion was much bigger than they had imagined, with sprawling gardens and an elegant facade.

"Wow," Heejin said, her eyes wide with amazement as she explored the mansion,"This place is incredible."

Soohyun nodded, equally impressed.

Jungkook chuckled, guiding them towards their bedrooms, "Welcome to our home. Make yourselves comfortable."

The days turned into weeks, and soon seven months had passed. Hyunjae and Taewon found themselves growing more attached to Jaekhyung. Their interactions became more frequent and personal, and Jaekhyung's crush on Taewon had blossomed into full-blown love.

He also started to see Hyunjae in a new light, and growing fond of him.

One day, Jaekhyung was in the office kitchen, preparing a cup of coffee. Taewon walked in, a smirk on his face. "Need any help?" Taewon asked, leaning casually against the counter, his fingers drumming lightly.

Jaekhyung looked up, a smile tugging at his lips as he stirred his coffee. "Sure, you can pass me the sugar," he said, pointing to the canister on the shelf.

Taewon moved closer, their shoulders brushing as he handed Jaekhyung the sugar. "Why need sugar when you, yourself are so sweet."

Jaekhyung blushed, his heart skipping a beat. "Stop with these cheesy lines."

"But you like them," Taewon said with a wink.

Another day, they were working late in the office. Taewon looked over at Jaekhyung, who was deeply engrossed in his work. He stood up and walked over, leaning on the edge of Jaekhyung's desk.

"You know, you should take a break. You've been staring at that screen for hours."

Jaekhyung looked up, his eyes tired but softening at the sight of Taewon. "I can't. I have so much to finish."

Taewon smiled, reaching out to gently take Jaekhyung's hand, "Come on, just a few minutes. I promise it will help."

Jaekhyung hesitated but then nodded, allowing Taewon to pull him up from his chair. They walked to the window, the city lights twinkling below them. "It's beautiful," Jaekhyung said softly, his fingers still intertwined with Taewon's.

"Not as beautiful as you," Taewon replied smoothly, his eyes locked with Jaekhyung's.

Jaekhyung laughed, "You're such a flirt."

"Only for you," Taewon replied, his voice teasing. Jaekhyung couldn't deny it. He was head over heels for Taewon, and every little interaction only made his feelings grow stronger.

Hyunjae, on the other hand, was struggling with his feelings. He found himself drawn to Jaekhyung, but it seemed like Jaekhyung's attention was always on Taewon.

"They are just friends, of course," Hyunjae muttered to himself while constantly looking at them through the window.

One day, Hyunjae saw Jaekhyung and Taewon laughing together in the office. He felt a pang of jealousy but tried to push it aside.

Hyunjae approached Jaekhyung later, finding him alone in the break room. "Hey," he said, trying to sound casual as he leaned against the doorframe.

Jaekhyung looked up, smiling. "Hello, sir."

"I just wanted to see how you were doing with the files I gave you," Hyunjae said, sitting down next to him, his posture tense.

Jaekhyung's smile softened. "They will be done by tomorrow. "

"Good, good," Hyunjae replied, his heart racing. He wanted to tell Jaekhyung how he felt, but he couldn't find the words. Instead, he just sat there, enjoying Jaekhyung's company.

With jungkook, his baby bump was now very prominent, and his mood swings had become even more intense. He was sensitive and moody, but everyone in the house was incredibly caring and sweet towards him.

The family's overall bonding had improved, and they were all excited about the upcoming addition to the family.

One weekend, they decided to go fishing. It was a beautiful day, and they drove out to a lake.

They set up their fishing gear, and Jungkook, feeling particularly energetic that day, was eager to catch a fish.

"I haven't been fishing in ages," he said, as he adjusted his hat to shield his face from the sun.

Taehyung set up a comfortable chair for Jungkook, making sure he was settled with a soft blanket over his lap. "Just relax and enjoy the day, love," he said, placing a gentle kiss on Jungkook's forehead.

Hyunjae, handed Jungkook a fishing rod. "Here you go. I'll help you with the bait," he said, carefully hooking the worm onto the line.

Jungkook smiled, "Thank you, baby," he said, adjusting his grip on the rod.

Meanwhile, Hyunjae noticed that Taewon was talking with someone on the phone, judging from how happy he was, hyunjae guessed that it would be Jaekhyung.

Hyunjae watched him with lonely eyes, his fingers absentmindedly playing with the hem of his shirt. He wished he could be as carefree around Jaekhyung, like Taewon.

Sujae, noticing Hyunjae's mood, nudged him gently. "Why is your handsome face looking sad, hyung?"
