Chapter 39

Third person's pov

In the room, Hyunjae sat at the edge of his seat, his arms crossed tightly over his chest. "Do you really think we can all live in that house? It's not enough for all of us. Think practically."

Soohyun leaned back, tapping her fingers on the table thoughtfully. "Mrs. Park and appa in their room. Me and Heejin. You, Taewon, and Sujae can sleep in one room, and the baby gets the last room. Isn't it perfect?"

Hyunjae shook his head vehemently. "Absolutely not! There are seven of us and only two bathrooms! And do you think three grown-ups can share a single room?"

Sujae, sitting cross-legged on the bed, looked up. "Why don’t we try living in both houses to see which works better?"

Heejin perked up, nodding. "That's actually a good idea."

Hyunjae sighed, running a hand through his hair. "We don’t have time to waste on this."

Sujae stood up, placing a hand on Hyunjae's shoulder. "Hyung, don’t be moody right now and listen to me."

Hyunjae took a deep breath, relenting. "Fine."

Soohyun clapped her hands together to get everyone’s atttention. "So, after Mrs. Park and papa’s marriage, we will first stay at our house and then here."

Hyunjae leaned forward, his eyes narrowing. "No, we will stay here first."

Soohyun crossed her arms defiantly. "No, we stay there first."

The others exchanged done looks. Sujae spoke up, "Aren't you both too old to be fighting over a small reason?"

Soohyun huffed. "It's a big reason."

Taewon sighed, looking between them. "Noona, it's really not."

After ten minutes of heated back-and-forth, Hyunjae threw his hands up in exasperation. "Fine, let’s stay at your house first!" He rolled his eyes dramatically and stormed out of the room.

Soohyun called after him, "Keep rolling them, and one day they’ll get stuck at the back."

Hyunjae’s voice came from the hallway, "At least I don’t have a stuck brain."

Soohyun stood up, placing her hands on her hips. "Do you realize that I am older than you!"

Hyunjae’s voice faded as he walked away. "Blah blah blah," followed by the sound of a door closing.

Soohyun turned to Heejin, her hands dropping to her sides. "Whatever! Let's go shopping right now. We don't have much time."

Heejin nodded, smoothing out her dress. "Let's tell appa and Mrs. Park what we have decided first, then we can go."

They all went downstairs to find Jungkook and Taehyung seated in the living room. Upon seeing them, Jungkook looked up expectantly. "Have you all decided?"

Soohyun nodded and explained the situation to Jungkook and Taehyung.

Taehyung raised an eyebrow, a smile tugging at his lips. "Sounds fair enough."

Soohyun then turned to Taehyung. "Appa, we have to go shopping."

Taehyung chuckled, glancing at Jungkook. "Go ahead."

Heejin shook her head, a smile on her lips. "Bro, you’re the groom. You have to come with us."

Taehyung sighed and stood up, then he leaned down to kiss Jungkook on the forehead. "See you soon, love."

Suddenly, Jungkook said, "Why don't we all go together?"

Taehyung's face immediately lit up with a wider smile. "Of course, that sounds great."

Sujae, already dialing Hyunjae's number on his phone, said, "I'll call Hyung." A moment later, Hyunjae attended the call, "Hyung, come down. We're all going shopping together."

Soon, Hyunjae came down the stairs, looking grumpy with his hands shoved deep into his pockets. Jungkook noticed his expression and asked, "Hyunie, what's up with that face?"

Hyunjae sighed, avoiding eye contact. "Nothing, eomma. Let's go."

Jungkook found it weird but nodded, deciding to let it slide for now. They all piled into the cars. As they drove to the shopping district, the car's atmosphere was filled with laughing sounds.

When they arrived, the group dispersed among the racks and shelves. Taehyung was the first to try something on. He emerged from the fitting room in a sleek black tuxedo, examining himself in the mirror. "What do you think?" he asked, turning to show off the fit.

Taewon shook his head. "It's nice, but it doesn't really stand out."

Heejin nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we need something more special."

Taehyung went back and tried on a second tuxedo, this one a deep navy blue with silver accents. Soohyun immediately said. "I love it!"

But the rest of the group wasn't convinced. "It's nice but not giving the vibe," Sujae said, tilting his head thoughtfully.

The third tuxedo was a burgundy colour with intricate gold embroidery. Everyone except Jungkook seemed to like it. "I don't like it," Jungkook said, frowning slightly.

After several more tries, Taehyung finally stepped out in a white tuxedo that made him look regal. It had subtle gold trimmings and fit him perfectly. The room fell silent for a moment before everyone started talking at once.

"This is it!" Heejin exclaimed, clapping her hands.

"Definitely gives off royal vibes," Sujae added.

Jungkook's eyes sparkled with approval. "This is what I was talking about!."

They all agreed on the white tuxedo for Taehyung and moved on to find an outfit for Jungkook. Jungkook tried on a light pink tuxedo first. He turned this way and that in front of the mirror, frowning. "I feel like it makes me look fat," he said, despite everyone else disagreeing.

"No no, love you look really beautiful," Taehyung said placing his hand on Jungkook's shoulder.

"I don't want this!" Jungkook exclaimed, already moving fo choose a new one.

Next, he tried a navy blue tuxedo, but he felt it made his neck look short. "I don't think this one's right either," he said, shaking his head.

Sujae didn't like the next tuxedo, which was a pastel blue color. "It's giving nothing eomma," he said bluntly.

Finally, Jungkook tried on a white tuxedo with a light pink bow in front. As soon as he stepped out of the fitting room, everyone gasped.

The tuxedo fit him perfectly, accentuating his figure perfectly. The light pink bow added a touch of softness that complemented his complexion.

Taehyung's eyes were glued to him. "You look stunning," he said softly, unable to take his eyes off Jungkook.

Jungkook blushed, looking at himself in the mirror. "I love it."

They also decided to buy a white veil for Jungkook. When they reached the counter to pay for the two outfits, Taehyung glanced at the total bill and felt his stomach drop. The cost was much higher than he had expected, his tuxedo alone costing more than he earned in a month.

He leaned over to Taewon and whispered, "Why did you suggest this place? My tuxedo is really expensive."

Taewon whispered back, "Hyunjae suggested it."

Taehyung said, "Call him hyung."

Taewon took a deep breath and corrected himself, "Hyunjae hyung suggested it."

Hyunjae, who had been overhearing the conversation, stepped forward before anyone could say anything. He handed his card to the cashier. The cashier asked, "Both outfits, sir?"

Hyunjae nodded. "Yes."

Taehyung was a bit shocked and opened his mouth to say something, but Jungkook squeezed his hand and smiled at him. "It's okay," Jungkook said softly.

Taehyung squeezed Jungkook’s hand tightly and nodded with his eyes.

After everyone finished shopping for their dresses and outfits, it was time to go home. The sky had turned dark, and the stars were twinkling as they walked back to the car, the city lights reflecting off the pavement.

Soon both the cars, went to their own ways.

With Park family, soon, they arrived at their home. Now they were sitting in Jungkook's bedroom, all together on the large, comfortable bed. Sujae’s head rested in Jungkook's lap, his fingers idly playing with the hem of Jungkook's shirt. Hyunjae was leaning against Jungkook, his head on Jungkook’s shoulder, eyes half-closed in exhaustion.

Sujae asked, "Hyung, have you booked the venue?"

Hyunjae, eyes still closed, replied, "I will do it today. You know Mr. Wang? His brother owns a wedding venue business, so I'll ask him to arrange one."

Sujae's brow furrowed. "In one day?"

Hyunjae opened his eyes and gave a small smile. "Of course."

The room fell silent again, the only sounds being the soft hum of the air conditioner and their steady breathing.

Then, there were soft sniffles. Jungkook and Hyunjae looked down to see Sujae, who was crying quietly in Jungkook's lap, his small body shaking with each sob.

Jungkook's heart clenched with worry. He gently lifted Sujae to sit up and cupped his face. "Love, what's wrong, my baby? Why are you crying?"

Sujae shook his head, tears streaming down his cheeks. Hyunjae rubbed Sujae’s back soothingly. "Come on, baby, if you don't tell us, how will we help you?"

Sujae sniffled and mumbled, "It's just that E-Eomma will get married. I’m getting emotional."

Jungkook's eyes softened. He wiped Sujae's tears with his thumb. "Baby, it's not like we will be living in different houses."

Sujae's voice was small and wobbly. "But you will leave us when you go for the honeymoon." He cried harder, his hands clutching at Jungkook's shirt.

Jungkook pulled him into a tight hug, rocking him gently. "Aww, my baby is crying because of this." Hyunjae leaned in, patting Sujae's back. "You had me worried for a second. And you know, no matter where we are, we will always be with each other."

Sujae sniffled, then reached for his heart piece necklace. It had three parts, one with Hyunjae, one with Sujae, and one with Jungkook. Jungkook smiled and pulled out his piece, while Hyunjae did the same. They connected the heart necklace, the pieces fitting perfectly together.

"We will be together, always. "

Meanwhile, at the Kim household, everyone was sitting in the living room.

Soohyun shifted in her seat, looking at her father with tear-filled eyes. "Appa, will we really have to leave this house?"

Taehyung looked at her tenderly, reaching out to hold her hand. "Sweetheart, you said that we will see which one is more comfortable."

Soohyun's voice cracked as she said, "I don't want to leave it." Tears spilled over, tracing wet lines down her cheeks.

Taehyung pulled her into a hug, his hand stroking her hair soothingly. "Baby, if you don’t want to leave it, then we won’t leave it."

Soohyun clung to him, her tears soaking into his shirt. "It has memories of Mom and Dad and so many memories of us together. How can we just leave it?"

Taehyung's heart ached for his daughter. He tightened his embrace, whispering softly, "We'll keep all our memories here. We can make new ones too, wherever we go, but this house will always be our home."

Soohyun's mind wandered back to a cherished memory from when her biological parents and grandparents were still alive.

It was a sunny afternoon, and the family was gathered in the living room. Taewon, still a baby, was cradled in Yeri’s arms, his tiny fingers grasping at her shirt.

Yeri ws Taehyung's sister in law.

Soohyun and Heejin were playing a game of tag with Taehyung, who was around twenty at the time.

Soohyun darted around the room, her laughter mingling with Heejin’s giggles. Taehyung, pretending to be a monster, chased them with exaggerated growls.

He scooped Heejin up, twirling her around as she squealed in delight, then gently set her down,

Yeri, watching them with a loving smile, called out, “Babies, we have to get going now.”

Soohyun, breathless from running, pouted and clung to Taehyung’s leg. “Eomma, I don’t want to! I’m having fun with Uncle. You can go alone with Appa.”

Yeri chuckled and replied teasingly, “Then why don’t you stay with your uncle while Appa and I go somewhere alone?”

In an instant, Soohyun and Heejin ran to Yeri, hugging her legs tightly. “No, Eomma! Don’t leave us!” they chorused.

Yeri laughed and bent down, pressing a kiss to each of their heads. “I’m just kidding, my loves. We’ll all go together.”

Soohyun’s flashback ended as she felt the comforting presence of Taewon and Heejin hugging her from both sides.

She was brought back to the present, the warmth of her siblings' embrace grounding her. Taehyung, sensing the shift in her mood, snuggled his children closer, his arms wrapping around them protectively.

"Appa loves you so much," he whispered softly.

Soohyun, her eyes glistening with unshed tears, leaned up and kissed his cheek. "We love you too, Appa."
