Chapter 38

Third person's pov

The boy was about to get up when he saw a hand extended in front of him. A voice, gentle and kind, asked, "Hey, are you okay?"

Looking up, the boy's eyes widened as he took in the sight of the most handsome man he had ever seen. It was Taewon. He shyly placed his hand in Taewon's, who helped him up with a firm yet gentle grip.

Taewon knelt down and swiftly gathered the scattered papers, handing them back to the boy. "It's okay," Taewon said, a warm smile on his face. "He is mean to everyone."

The boy nodded, his cheeks flushing slightly. "Thank you," he mumbled.

Taewon tilted his head slightly, studying the boy. "Are you new here? I haven't seen you before."

"Yes," the boy replied, straightening the papers in his hands. "My name is Jaekhyung. Today is my first day—"

Before he could finish, Hyunjae reappeared, he was clearly much irritated, "I asked you to give me the papers," he snapped, "but it seems like you're too busy chatting with Mr. Kim."

Jaekhyung bowed deeply, "I'm sorry," he stammered, handing over the papers with shaking hands.

Hyunjae grabbed the papers, "You two," he said, his voice icy, "since you have so much time to talk, I'm assigning you extra work. Mr. Kim, you will assist Mr. Min with filing all the documents in the storage room. And Mr. Kim, make sure everything is in perfect order. I want it done by the end of the day."

Jaekhyung bowed again, his face pale. "Yes, Mr. Park."

Hyunjae turned on his heel and walked back into the meeting room,

Jaekhyung looked at Taewon, who gave him a reassuring smile. "Don't worry about him," Taewon said, his tone light. "He's just in one of his moods. Happens more often than you'd think."

Jaekhyung sighed, the tension easing from his shoulders. "Do you ever want to kick his ass sometimes?"

Taewon chuckled, shaking his head. "Not just sometimes," he said, "I want to do it all the time."

Jaekhyung couldn't help but smile back. "Thank you for helping me."

"No problem," Taewon replied, extending his hand. "By the way, I'm Taewon."

Jaekhyung shook his hand, feeling a bit more at ease. "Nice to meet you, Taewon."

"Let's get to work," Taewon said, leading the way. "We don't want to give him any more reasons to be grumpy."

As they walked towards the storage room, they chatted about their backgrounds, their interests, and the office environment. Taewon made sure to crack a few jokes, easing Jaekhyung's nerves and making the work seem less daunting.

At the Park mansion, Jungkook had gone to sleep after taking his medications.

The house was quiet, with only the soft sound of maid moving here and there. The bell rang, echoing through the spacious halls. The maid, Mrs. Lee, hurried to the door and opened it to find Taehyung standing there, a large bag of snacks in his hand, bursting with candies, cakes, and chips.

"Good morning, Mr. Kim," Mrs. Lee greeted politely, stepping aside to let him in.

"Good morning," Taehyung replied with a warm smile. "Where is Jungkook?"

"Sir is sleeping in his room," the maid answered, leading Taehyung through the elegantly decorated halls toward the bedroom.

Taehyung nodded and followed her, the bag of goodies rustling with every step. Mrs. Lee opened the door to Jungkook's room quietly, and Taehyung stepped inside, placing the bag gently on the table.

He walked up to Jungkook’s bed, his footsteps soft on the plush carpet. Jungkook was sleeping peacefully, his chest rising and falling in a slow, steady rhythm.

Taehyung smiled, slipped off his shoes, and carefully laid down beside him. He slid one arm underneath Jungkook's head, and draped the other arm protectively over his stomach.

He leaned in, his lips brushing Jungkook's neck as he whispered, "Baby, did you miss Dada?" He snuggled into Jungkook's neck, inhaling his familiar scent.

They stayed like that for about thirty minutes, Taehyung content to simply hold Jungkook and listen to his breathing. Eventually, Jungkook began to stir, his eyelids fluttering open. Taehyung immediately sat up, gently patting Jungkook’s head until he was fully awake.

Jungkook blinked a few times, his vision clearing. He was a bit shocked to see Taehyung there. "Tae?" he murmured,

Taehyung kissed his hand tenderly. "Yes, love?"

Jungkook smiled and hugged him tightly. "I didn’t expect to see you here."

Taehyung rubbed his back soothingly. "I needed to be here for my Rosie. Hyunjae told me what happened."

Jungkook snuggled deeper into Taehyung's chest, feeling the warmth of his chest, "Love, you shouldn’t worry yourself because of people who don’t even care about you," Taehyung murmured.

Jungkook pulled back slightly, looking up at Taehyung with worried eyes. "But... but what if they actually die because of me?"

Taehyung immediately shushed him, pressing a finger gently to his lips. "Love, it’s not because of you. You did nothing wrong."

Jungkook’s eyes filled with tears. "I don’t know, Tae. It feels like it’s my fault."

Taehyung was quick to pull him back into his arms, cradling his head against his chest. "No, love. Don’t think like that. You’ve done nothing wrong. Please, don’t cry."

Jungkook’s shoulders shook as he cried, and Taehyung rocked him gently, trying to soothe him. "Do you want to eat something?" Taehyung asked softly. "I bought some snacks for you."

Jungkook looked up at the bag of goodies with wide, tear-filled eyes. "Really?"

Taehyung nodded and smiled, wiping Jungkook's tears with his thumb. "Really. I got all your favorites."

Jungkook sniffled and nodded. "Okay."

Taehyung got up and retrieved the bag, taking out the various treats. Jungkook’s eyes lit up as he saw the assortment of candies, cakes, and chips. He picked up a strawberry candy and popped it into his mouth, his eyes closing in bliss. "This one is so good! Are there more of these?"

Taehyung chuckled and handed him the rest of the strawberry candies. "Of course, love. Eat as much as you want."

Jungkook happily ate the candies, momentarily forgetting about the Jeons. Taehyung watched him with a fond smile, glad to see him distracted and content.

After eating a few more treats, Jungkook turned to Taehyung, his expression serious.

"Tae," he said quietly.

"Yes, baby?" Taehyung responded, his voice gentle.

"Can we get married sooner?" Jungkook asked, his eyes pleading. "I can’t stay without you."

Taehyung cupped Jungkook’s face in his hands, his thumbs gently stroking his cheeks. "I’m ready to do it today if you want to."

Jungkook shook his head. "Not today, but can we do it two days later?"

Taehyung blinked in surprise, then chuckled softly, thinking Jungkook was joking at first. But when he saw the tears welling up in Jungkook’s eyes, he immediately regretted laughing. "Love, as I said, I would marry you today if you want to."

Jungkook’s voice wavered as he spoke. "Not today, but the day after tomorrow."

Taehyung’s expression softened, and he nodded. "Whatever my baby likes. We should have a conversation with everyone today."

Taehyung soon messaged Taewon, Heejin, and Soohyun, asking them to come to the Park mansion after their jobs.

At the office, the workday had just ended, and Taewon stood outside the building, trying to hail a taxi.

He saw Hyunjae getting into his sleek car, the door closing with a quiet click. Taewon couldn’t help but feel a pang of longing, wishing that one day he might have the same opportunities. Lost in thought, he didn’t notice a small child running toward him until it was too late.

The little girl, no more than 3 or 4 years old, collided with him and fell to the ground, immediately bursting into tears. Taewon crouched down, and tried to comfort her.

“Hey, are you okay?”

Before he could do more, the girl’s mother came rushing over, scooping her daughter up and glaring at Taewon. “You boy, are you blind or something? Didn’t you see my daughter coming this way? Because of you, she’s hurt!”

Taewon straightened up, trying to explain. “Ma’am, I was just standing here. She’s the one who bumped into me while running and fell down.”

The woman made a dismissive noise. “Oh, really? You just don’t want to accept your mistake, do you! There are kids on this road, why don’t you open your eyes while standing!”

Before Taewon could reply, Hyunjae appeared beside him, his expression stern. “Miss, what’s going on here?”

The woman, recognizing Hyunjae’s professional attire, softened her tone but maintained her attitude.

“Mr., I know you are well-educated like me, so you’ll understand. This boy was standing with his eyes closed, and my little girl got hurt because of him.”

Hyunjae’s eyes narrowed. “Firstly, what do you mean by ‘well-educated like me’? Are you implying that this boy isn’t well-educated?”

Taewon looked at Hyunjae with wide eyes, surprised by his defence. The woman opened her mouth to speak, but Hyunjae cut her off. “He is one of my most hardworking employees. If you can’t control your child, then try using better protection. Apologize to him right now.”

The woman scoffed, clearly offended. “Seems like everyone in this area is crazy. Sorry!” She spat the word out sarcastically before walking away, her heels clicking against the pavement.

Hyunjae turned to Taewon, who was still processing what had just happened. “Are you okay?” Hyunjae asked, his tone a bit concerned now.

Taewon blinked. “Shouldn’t I be asking you that? You just defended me. I don’t think you’re in your right mind.”

Hyunjae rolled his eyes. “I’m going to be your elder brother soon, and I can’t stand that my brother can’t even defend himself against a crazy woman.”

Taewon’s eyes widened further. “Wait, did you just call me brother?”

Hyunjae sighed. “I said soon! Now come on, get in the car. I’ll drop you off.”

Taewon chuckled. “You must really be out of your mind. I think we should go to the hospital instead.”

Ignoring him, Hyunjae gently took Taewon’s arm and guided him toward the car. “Just get in.”

Reluctantly, Taewon climbed into the passenger seat, followed by Hyunjae. As the driver started the engine, Taewon turned to Hyunjae. “Actually, I have to go to your house today. Appa messaged me that he and Mrs. Park want to discuss something with us.”

Hyunjae looked puzzled but then nodded. “Alright, let’s head there then.”

When they reached the Park mansion and stepped inside, Sujae, Heejin, and Soohyun were already present in the living room. Everyone noticed Taewon and Hyunjae entering together and got a bit shocked. However, no one commented on it.

Jungkook, sitting on the couch, looked up with a smile. "It's great that you both are here together. Come, sit down. Tae and I have something important to talk about."

Taewon and Hyunjae exchanged a glance before sitting down on the couch. Taehyung took Jungkook’s hand and began, "So, me and Jungkook are planning to get married this Wednesday."

Soohyun’s eyes widened, "This Wednesday? Wait, that means the day after tomorrow!"

Heejin looked equally shocked. "What? Why so early?"

Sujae added, "Until this morning, it was at the end of this month!"

Taehyung held up his hand to calm them. "I know, I know, but we decided to have it early."

Jungkook looked at their worried faces. "You all don’t have an issue with it, right?"

Soohyun pouted slightly. "Appa, I haven’t even decided my dress yet!"

Taehyung chuckled softly. "Sweetie, you have today and tomorrow to do that."

Taewon raised a practical question. "What about invitations?"

Jungkook shook his head. "It will just be our family. No extra guests."

Hyunjae looked a bit frantic. "Oh god, even the venue isn’t booked yet! There’s so much to do!"

Taehyung placed a reassuring hand on Jungkook's shoulder. "We still have more than 24 hours."

Hyunjae shook his head. "We have to get to work right now!"

Jungkook cleared his throat to get everyone’s attention again. "First, we have to talk about something else as well." All eyes were on him. "Since we’re getting married, we’ll have to move in together. Which house do you guys want to stay in? It’s a serious matter, so you all can decide together."

Hyunjae spoke up quickly. "Of course, here!"

Soohyun frowned. "Why? We can stay there as well. What’s wrong with it?"

Hyunjae sighed. "I mean, this house has more rooms for everyone, and we won’t need to share."

Soohyun crossed her arms. "But what if I don’t want to live here?"

Hyunjae started to argue but Jungkook interrupted firmly, "Hyunjae!"

Hyunjae took a deep breath. "Right, sorry Soohyun- noona. But still, last time, me, Mr. Kim, and Sujae had to share the bed."

Taehyung intervened. "Hyunjae, you should call Taewon by his name. Work shouldn’t interfere with personal matters."

Hyunjae nodded reluctantly. "As I was saying, last time, me, Taewon, and Sujae had to share one bed!"

Sujae shrugged. "It was fine for me."

Soohyun retorted, "You can sleep on the floor then."

Taehyung raised his voice slightly. "Stop fighting! Well, I agree with Hyunjae that this house surely has enough rooms for everyone, but you all should discuss it more seriously."

Hyunjae sighed. "Fine, let's go into the room."

Taewon nodded. "Fine!"

The kids walked into a separate room, continuing their discussion. Taehyung turned to Jungkook and gently took his hand. "What do you want rosie?"

Jungkook leaned into Taehyung, resting his head on his shoulder. "I’ll be fine wherever you are."

So that was all for today's chapter, I hope you enjoyed reading it.

What are your thoughts on it ?

Whose house do you think the family should stay in ?

Did you liked Hyunjae’s and Taewon's interactions ?

You know today, someone really pissed me off so that's why I am updating a bit late.

As you know, I use words like 'Eomma' for the bottom males and someone and fighting with me because of this and telling me that I don't do enough research and I am offending korean culture etc.

( I submitted my book to an award show, and the judge pointed it out, I am more than fine with the judge because she isn't into BxB so she doesn't know about it and she is extremely nice but someone in the comment section kept fighting with me and saying rude stuff etc)

And she has the audacity to say in the end, "I am not trying to be harsh with you."

I seriously don't like these people at all.........

Borahae,
Byee.
