Chapter 32
Third person's pov
As Sujae revealed that it was Choi Jun, Hyunjae’s eyes darkened with rage. He handed the car keys to Sujae with a firm command, "Go and wait in the car. I’ll be back soon!"
Without waiting for a response, Hyunjae strode purposefully in the direction Jun had gone. His fists clenched at his sides. When he spotted Jun, he didn't hesitate. With a swift, powerful kick to the back, Jun stumbled and fell to the ground.
Jun twisted around, his face contorted with pain and shock. "WHAT THE HELL!" he shouted, making a few people look into their direction.
Hyunjae grabbed Jun by the collar and hauled him to his feet, his grip tight. "Your parents will be childless now," he growled, his voice low and scary.
"What the heck, leave me!"
Jun struggled, trying to break free. He couldn't escape Hyunjae's strong grip. With a fierce punch, Hyunjae's knuckles connected with Jun's face, sending a spray of blood from his nose.
Suddenly, Sujae came there, and as he saw what was happening, he tried to make Hyunjae leave Jun.
"Hyung, let's go, the ice cream will melt." He glanced at Jun before saying, "He's not worth wasting ice cream."
Hyunjae glanced over his shoulder at Sujae, then back at Jun. With a final, contemptuous slap, he snarled, "Mind your language next time you speak to my brother, and mind your thoughts the next time you think about my mother."
He shoved Jun away and turned to leave, his arm around Sujae's shoulders as they walked back to the car. Sujae looked up at Hyunjae,
"That bastard isn't even worth a minute," Sujae muttered as they got into the car.
Hyunjae started the engine, his face still set in hard lines. "Sometimes you have to show people their worth. You can't always ignore them."
At Park mansion...............
Later that night, Jungkook sat on his bed, his phone in hand. He dialed Taehyung’s number, his heart lightening at the thought of hearing his voice. After a few rings, Taehyung picked up.
"Hi, Boba," Taehyung's voice came through, warm and soft. "Have you eaten your dinner?"
Jungkook smiled, leaning back against the headboard. "Yes, I have. Have you?"
"Mmhm," Taehyung hummed in response, the sound comforting.
Jungkook sighed, a wistful note in his voice. "Ahh, I want to ride a bike."
Taehyung chuckled. "Right now?"
Jungkook nodded, then realized Taehyung couldn’t see him.
"Were you nodding?" Taehyung asked.
"Yes," Jungkook replied with a laugh.
"So, you want to ride a bike," Taehyung said, his voice softening even more. "Remember how we used to ride back in our college days? It was so fun."
Jungkook's smile grew, memories flooding back.
"So you want to go back in time, huh?" Taehyung asked, and this question made Jungkook's smile slightly fade.
Jungkook shook his head, his voice becoming serious. "No, I never want to go back....I don't think I can handle the past again."
A silence settled between them for a few seconds after Jungkook’s response.
"Are you free right now?" Taehyung asked, breaking the silence.
Jungkook hesitated. "I have to check a few things, but it's not important."
"Then wait for me," Taehyung said. This time, his voice was excited.
Jungkook was confused but agreed. "Okay."
Jungkook hung up the phone, still puzzled by Taehyung's sudden plan. He moved around the house, tidying up a bit and checking on Sujae and Hyunjae, who were playing a video game in the living room. The sound of their laughter brought a smile to his face.
With Taehyung..........
As Taehyung ended his call with Jungkook, he quickly changed into a black T-shirt and pants. His heart raced with excitement as he glanced at himself in the mirror, adjusting his pants.
He then grabbed his phone and keys, making his way toward the main door when Taewon called out from the living room.
"Appa, where are you going, dressed up this hot?" Taewon teased.
Taehyung smirked, pausing to turn and face his son. "Jungkook," he replied simply.
Taewon laughed. "Have fun then, but don't do anything weird. He might rethink his decisions."
Taehyung rolled his eyes, slipping on his shoes. "I’ll be back late. Don’t wait for me at dinner," he said, giving Taewon a reassuring smile before heading out.
He walked over to his neighbor Mr. Wang's house and rang the bell. The door opened, revealing Mr. Wang.
"Can I borrow your bike for some time?" Taehyung asked, as soon as the door opened.
Mr. Wang raised an eyebrow but nodded. "Sure, but when will you be returning it?"
Taehyung grinned. "In a few hours. Don’t worry about it!"
Mr. Wang nodded and went inside, returning with the keys and a helmet. "Ride carefully," he started to say, but before he could finish, Taehyung gave him a quick hug and took the bike.
"Thanks bro!"
Mr. Wang chuckled to himself as Taehyung sped off. "This man still acts like as if he is in his twenties," he muttered, shaking his head with a smile as he went back inside.
As Taehyung reached the Park mansion, he parked the bike and removed the helmet, brushing his hair back with his fingers. The tousled look gave him an effortlessly handsome appearance.
He rang the bell and waited, shifting from foot to foot with excitement.
After a few seconds, Sujae opened the door, his eyes widening in surprise. "Hello, Mr. Kim," he said, bowing respectfully.
Taehyung smiled warmly, ruffling Sujae's hair. "How are you?"
"I'm good. How are you?" Sujae asked, looking at Taehyung with a soft smile.
Taehyung's smile broadened. "As you can see, in love. Where’s your eomma?"
Sujae grinned,"He's in his room. I'll call him." He hurried inside, leaving Taehyung waiting at the door.
A few minutes later, Jungkook and Hyunjae appeared, with Sujae trailing behind them. Hyunjae gave Taehyung a light nod, acknowledging his presence.
"Taehyung you here- oh wait!"
Jungkook’s eyes widened in surprise when he saw the bike. "A bike? Where did you get it?"
Taehyung chuckled. "I stole it for you."
Jungkook raised an eyebrow. "Stealing is bad, Mr. Kim."
Taehyung leaned in closer, "But Mrs. Park, you have also stolen my heart. What about that?"
Jungkook blushed, playfully hitting Taehyung on the arm.
Taehyung grinned, extending his hand toward Jungkook. "So, Your Highness, would you like to come with me for a ride?"
Jungkook smiled, his eyes sparkling as he placed his hand in Taehyung's. Hyunjae cleared his throat, drawing their attention.
"I will drop him off before 10, okay?" Taehyung assured Hyunjae.
Hyunjae nodded, a protective glint in his eyes. "Don't drive above 100 and be careful."
Taehyung gave a salute. "I will be. You don't have to worry about it."
Jungkook turned to Hyunjae with a reassuring smile. "Wait, I need to change my shoes, and then we’ll go."
Taehyung nodded, waiting patiently as Jungkook dashed inside to change. Hyunjae watched Jungkook with a smile. He had never seen Jungkook so happy.
Jungkook hurried back inside to change into more comfortable shoes. As he returned, he gave Hyunjae and Sujae a quick hug, before saying, " Bye babies."
"Bye eomma, have fun." Hyunjae said with a smile.
Jungkook walked over to the bike where Taehyung was waiting, the night air cool and crisp around them. Jungkook climbed onto the bike, settling behind Taehyung. He wrapped his arms around Taehyung's waist, feeling the warmth and steady heartbeat of his lover.
"Are you settled?" Taehyung asked, tightening Jungkook's grip around his waist.
"Yes!" Jungkook replied.
Taehyung smiled at Jungkook's happiness. "Let's go!" he said, starting the bike and easing it forward slowly at first, mindful of Hyunjae’s watchful eyes.
As they moved further away from the mansion, Taehyung gradually increased the speed. The wind rushed past them, cool and refreshing.
Jungkook yelped with delight, tightening his hold around Taehyung's waist and pressing his head against Taehyung's back. "Having fun?" Taehyung called over his shoulder.
Jungkook nodded, making happy noises that filled Taehyung with joy.
The world seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them and the open road. Taehyung glanced back occasionally, smiling to see Jungkook so happy, so excited.
Suddenly, raindrops began to fall, splattering against their faces and the bike. Taehyung pulled over under a nearby shed, stopping the bike and removing his helmet.
"We were having such a great time, why did this have to happen?" he lamented, looking up at the sky.
Jungkook grinned. "We can still have fun." He stepped out into the rain, tilting his face up to the sky and letting the water wash over him.
Taehyung frowned. "You’re going to get sick."
"Don't be a boring ass, come on!" Jungkook beckoned, waving his arms invitingly.
Taehyung sighed, placing the helmet on the bench before stepping out into the rain.
Jungkook twirled in front of him, his clothes clinging to his frame, making him look ethereal under the soft moonlight filtered through the clouds.
"So beautiful," Jungkook sighed, looking up at the sky with arms spread wide.
Taehyung couldn’t take his eyes off him. "Right, Tae?" Jungkook called, breaking him out of his reverie.
Taehyung blinked, realizing he had been staring. He stepped closer, his movements deliberate and slow, "You are so beautiful," he said.
Jungkook smirked, "Tell me something I don't know."
Taehyung chuckled, shaking his head. "Sassy, huh?"
Jungkook gave a sassy twirl, his laughter ringing through the air. "Let's dance," he suggested, practically pouting like a kid.
Taehyung grinned and quickly went back to the shed, retrieving his phone. He selected a song, placing the phone on the bench so the music could fill the air around them.
A soft, romantic melody began to play, blending perfectly with the rain.
Taehyung knelt down on one knee, the rain dripping from his hair, and held out his hand. "Would you like to have a dance with me, your highness?"
Jungkook pretended to consider the offer, tapping his chin. "I think I would like that, Prince Taehyung." He extended his hand, letting Taehyung pull him close.
Taehyung stood, pulling Jungkook gently into his arms. He placed one hand on the small of Jungkook’s back, feeling the warmth beneath his wet clothes, and the other hand held Jungkook’s delicately.
Jungkook rested his free hand on Taehyung’s shoulder, their bodies moving together.
As they continued dancing, Taehyung’s hand moved gently, caressing the small of Jungkook’s back, drawing him even closer.
Jungkook gazed up at Taehyung gently, "Do you remember our college days?" he asked softly.
Taehyung smiled, his eyes never leaving Jungkook’s. "How could I forget?"
Jungkook’s lips curved into a tender smile. "Although I miss them, I never want to go back. I love where we are now."
"Me too," Taehyung whispered, his voice barely understandable over the rain. He leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to Jungkook’s soft lips.
After their dance in the rain, they exchanged a smile before Taehyung took Jungkook's hand, leading him back to the bike.
They mounted it once again, Jungkook wrapping his arms around Taehyung's waist tightly. The ride back was slower, more relaxed, the rain having washed away any remaining tension.
The next day...........
Hyunjae was at his desk in his office, absorbed in his work, when he heard a knock. He glanced up and said, “Come in.” The door opened to reveal Taewon standing there with a bright smile.
"Good to see you rejoining, Mr. Kim," Hyunjae greeted, a forced smile tugging at his lips.
Taewon stepped inside, closing the door behind him. "Of course. Mrs. Park asked, so I had to join. I only joined because of Mrs. Park and not any guy who gets scared by a cockroach."
Hyunjae’s smile grew even more forced. "Welcome back."
Taewon’s eyes hardened slightly. "If you try to mistreat me again, I will tell Mrs. Park."
Hyunjae’s smile vanished, replaced by a hard glare. "So, you are threatening me in my own office?"
Taewon shrugged, a cool confidence in his stance. "I am only giving you a warning." With that, he turned and left the office.
Hyunjae, fuming, slammed his fist on the desk. He quickly pressed the intercom button. "Secretary choi, get in here!"
Moments later, his secretary rushed in, looking flustered. "Yes, sir? What can I do?"
"I am angry!" Hyunjae barked.
The secretary, with a quick thinking, started fanning Hyunjae with his hands. "Calm down, sir, calm down!" he chanted, hoping to calm Hyunjae down.
"You're not angry! Not angry at all!" He continued fanning Hyunjae until he calmed down.
After 2 days.........
Two days passed without further incident. Everything seemed to be going well. Today was the day of Sujae's show. He had left early for practice, and now it was nearly 10 a.m.
Jungkook, dressed beautifully, was ready to head to Sujae's college. As he stepped out of the house, he was greeted by Taehyung, who stood there with a broad smile.
"Tae, are you doing here?"
"Let’s go, or else we’ll be late," Taehyung said with a soft smile.
Jungkook raised an eyebrow. "Late to where?"
Taehyung’s smile widened. "Of course to Sujae's play. You said only parents are invited so we are going there."
