After the Hokage were revived and it was settled that they would help with the war, they headed towards the battlefield. "I'm amused." Hashirama said. "What do you mean?" Orochimaru asked. "The Houjuu girl in Jugo's arms. I'm amazed how she's able to sleep at a time like this." Hashirama explained.

"She looks dead if you ask me." Tobirama mentioned. "How could Nue sleep at a time like this?" Hiruzen asked. "Nue's under some kind of drug that's preventing her from waking up. We tried waking her up ourselves, none of our methods worked." Suigetsu explained.  

"We found her in a water tank with some sort of liquid going into her veins. Who ever did this to her wanted her to stay asleep, but for what reason?" Karin informed. "Do you know Nue, Lord Fourth? I've noticed you've been staring at her for quite some time now." Orochimaru mentioned.

"No... Not entirely. Nue's parents introduced her to Kushina and I when she was an infant." Minato explained. "Let's go before it's too late." Tobirama said.

"Right." Minato replied. Everyone headed towards the battlefield. 

They got there just in time as Minato stopped an attack by sending it to the lake.

"It's about damn time! I've been waiting, Hashirama!" Madara called with a smirk on his face. "I'll deal with you later!" Hashirama replied as he pointed at him. Madara seemed pretty disappointed and when he said that since he wasn't expecting that kind of response from him.

"First, I have to stop the Ten-Tails!" Hashirama explained. Madara sighed at his answer. "He hasn't changed a bit. We were never on the same page." He mumbled.

Moments after all four Hokages sealed in the Ten-Tails, Sasuke appeared with Nue over his shoulder. "You should took your time getting here, Sasuke." Naruto said with a smirk. His eyes immediately went from him to Jugo as he held her in a bridal style position.

"Nue-chan!"

"Nue-sama?" Maira ran over to Naruto and spotted Nue in Jugo's arms. "Nue-sama!" She shouted. Sasuke glanced over at Maria, remembering how she interfered with his and Nue's fight when they were in the academy.

"Maria Asanaki... I remember you. You were Nue's maid..." Sasuke said. "And I still am." Maria confirmed with a frown.

"You're still annoying as ever." Sasuke mentioned. "What have you done to my Mistress?" Maria commanded. "Don't worry, she's not hurt or anything. She's just... sleeping." Jugo explained.

"We don't know what's wrong with her. We found her unconscious in a tank filled with water and these tubes were attached to her body." Sasuke explained before telling everyone that he decided to protect the Leaf Village by deciding to become Hokage.

"Ha! Don't make me laugh, Uchiha! After everything you've done, you don't deserve to become Hokage!" Maria said, coldly. "Yeah, do you really think you can get away with what you've done?!" Kiba yelled.

While they were talking amongst themselves, Madara noticed the unconscious Nue was with them. "Damn, how did they find her? Well, at least they saved me the trouble of having to wait for her to get here. Well, seeing how the odds are, now is a better time than any." Madara mumbled to himself.

He performed a single hand sign while focusing on Nue. "Awaken!"

Nue's eyes instantly opened and glanced up at Jugo. He caught her looking at him and stared at her. "Nue? Whoa!"

Nue aimed to punch Jugo's face, but he was able dodge her attack. She jumped out of his hold and swept her leg under his feet, sending him to the ground. Nue dashed forward and punched Kiba in the stomach before spinning around, her foot kicking him in the jaw. 

"Nue-sama, stop!" Maria said. Nue glanced over at her and created a black gun in her hand and shooting her in the shoulder. "Maria!" Naruto quickly ran over to her and caught her as she stumbled back.

"Nue-chan, what's the matter with you? Why'd you shoot her?" Naruto asked. Nue didn't answer as she aimed the gun at him. "Are you out of your mind?! We're not the bad guys here, Nue! What's gotten into you?!" Kiba yelled.

Nue created a black Bubble-Utilising Pipe and blew explosive bubbles at Squad 8 and 10. "Watch out!" Shikamaru called. The two squads dodged Nue's bubbles and they exploded. "Hey, cut it out! We're on your side!" Choji yelled at her.

Sasuke took out his sword and went to strike at Nue, but she was able to stop his attack by biting down on the blade. She glanced at Sasuke with a deadly look in her eyes as Sasuke was shocked at how Nue was able to stop his attack.

Still having ahold of the blade, Nue yanked the sword out of Sasuke's hand, tossed it to the ground, and dashed forward as she drove her knee into Sasuke stomach. Due to the amount of power she had in that kick, Sasuke coughed up some spit as he stood there, his body shaking from the force.

Nue stepped aside and let Sasuke fall to the ground as clutched his stomach in agony. She made her pipe disappear and picked up Sasuke's sword as she walked over to him. Once she was near his side, she flipped the blade so it was pointing downward and prepared to kill Sasuke.

"Nue-chan, don't!" Naruto called. But it was useless as she went to thrust the blade into Sasuke's chest, but her attack didn't follow through as she planned. 

"Ninja Art: Shadow Possession Jutsu!"

Nue quickly spotted the shadow stretching towards her and leaped back while dropping Sasuke's sword. Nue did three backflips before skidding to stop. "Nue, it's us! You don't need to attack!" Ino tried reasoning.

Instead of listening, Nue created eight fireballs from above and had them dash towards her teammates. "Earth Style: Mud Wall!" Maria quickly mad a mud wall emerge from the ground and protected her comrades from the fireballs.

"Nue." Madara called to her. Nue glanced towards the Uchiha and vanished over to him, appearing in front of him as she bowed down while taking a knee. "I'm sorry to keep you waiting for so long... Master." Nue said in an emotionless tone. "Master?" Naruto repeated.

"Why did she call him 'Master'? What the heck is going on?" Choji asked. "Nue-chan!" Naruto called to her, but he was ignored. "Raise your head." Madara commanded Nue. She obediently did what he said and lifted her head so she was looking at him.

"Looks like Obito was right. Under my control, she's like a loyal pet." Madara mumbled to himself. He placed his hand on her cheek and smirked. "This should be fun. On your feet, Nue." Madara ordered, and she obeyed. "Yes, Master."

"Who is your master?" Madara asked. "You are, Master." Nue answered.

"And what is your purpose?"

"My purpose is to serve and protect you, Master. I am your weapon and guardian as you are allowed to use me in whatever way that you please. From now until I am no longer needed, I am forever yours." Nue said, devotedly.

"Good girl. You remember your place." Madara smirked. 'Now, to put her worthiness to the test' He thought.

Alternate Ending

"Well, seeing how the odds are, I guess now's a better time than any." Madara mumbled to himself. He performed a hand sign, closing his eyes. "Awaken!" He said, opening his eyes. Back where Kabuto was stuck in Izanagi, safely hidden behind the wall was none other than Nue Houjuu.

When Madara awoken Nue, the tubes that were attached to her body detached themselves and the water began to drain. Once it was all gone, the glass disappeared and Nue fell forward, hitting the ground with a soft thud.

One minutes passed. Two minutes, then Nue began to wake up, coughing and sputtering. "What's... going on?" The girl whispered. She lifted her head and looked around. "Hello? Is anybody there?" She called as she stood up.

"What is this place? And what am I doing here?" Nue slowly stood to her feet and walked down a hall until she came a cross a small bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror and blinked in surprise. "This is... me." She realized, touching the mirror.

Small droplets of water dripped from her body and onto the floor as she stared into her reflection. "But these scars... Where did they come from?" Nue whispered.

"My memories..." She lowered her head a bit as her fingers lightly touched her head, then looked back at her reflection. "That's right... I got them from protecting him... My name is Nue Houjuu... and I serve my master... Madara Uchiha. I am needed. I must go assist him." Nue said to herself.

During Nue's time in the water tank, her memories have been altered to the point where she believes that Madara is her master and that he's always been there for her. She had no memory of her friends.

The only memory she had was Madara finding her as a child and taking her in while training her and taking care of her. In return for his hospitality, Nue decided to serve Madara. At certain point in time, Madara told Nue that he had to leave, but promised that he would return.

Until then, she would awaken and they would be reunited.

To make sure no one would find her, he sealed her away in a water tank.  

After Nue got dressed, she headed off to the battlefield to assist Madara.
