Chapter 61: Nue vs. Madara and Kabuto
THIS IS AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE. PLEASE READ.
Hey, guys. I've thought long and hard about this, and I'm not sure if I should continue this story. Like, I know the series is long because of all the flashbacks that happen between battles, and I'm not sure if I have the patience to write all of that.
But what bothers me most is that I have a really cool ending for Nue and I really want to continue it, but like I mentioned, I'm not sure if I have the patience to write everything out while following the anime. Ugh, I'm driving myself crazy, more than I already am. What should I do?
Continue the story and skip a few parts, or just discontinue it altogether?
I know all of you have seen the story, the battle, and how it ends, so I'm thinking it's just a hassle to write it all out in this book. Please tell me what I should do. Also, I've decided to dedicate chapter to the people who tag me and to also the people who deserve the dedication.
It's just my way of saying thank you for tagging me :)
Now without further adieu, enjoy the story!
"Found you, you son of a bitch." I said as I found out where Madara was hiding. I flew to the ground, and landed in a kneeling position as my hood went over my head. I stood up with a frown and entered the new hideout Madara was hiding in.
The war has already begun, so I can only tell Madara had reinforcements. No doubt, Kabuto wasn't his only backup. I wonder who else has joined the party? "Welcome, Nue Houjuu. We've been expecting you." I stopped walking as I spotted a figure in the shadows.
"Kabuto Yakushi..." I said with a frown. I looked at him from head to toe. "You look like hell." I mentioned. "And you look like you've suffered a loss. Oh, wait. You did. But that stupid mother of yours deserved to die. She was a nuisance to the end." He said.
I gritted my teeth as he insulted my mother. "Don't you dare talk about my mother. She went through hell to protect me." I said. "Ha! Protect you? Don't make me laugh! The only reason why she hid you away and "protected" you, is because you're an embarrassment to the Houjuu Clan." Kabuto said.
"Take that back, asshole."
"What are you gonna do if I don't?"
"I'll fucking murder your ass."
"Try me, Nue. Let's see how much you've learned."
"Do you really think you can beat me?"
"I know I can beat you."
"Alright. Let's dance."
I closed my eyes before opening they as my eyes changed purple. "Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu!" I breathed fire out of my mouth as it advanced towards Kabuto. He smirked before leaping into the air, dodging my attack.
"You'll have to try hard than that, Nue!" Kabuto called. I jumped in the air, following after him. "Trust me! I can do more than that!" I said before punching him in the face. Kabuto fell to the ground and poofed into a log.
"Come out of hiding, coward! I thought you were a ninja!" I shouted. I spotted Kabuto near a ledge and I lunged at him. I grabbed the front of his cloak and flung him over to the ground. While he was falling, I stomped my feet into his stomach multiple times before spinning around, swinging my fist at his face.
He hit the ground hard with a thud as clouds of dirt surrounded him. I floated to the ground, then walked over to him, grabbing the front of his cloak. "Tell me where Madara is! Now!" I ordered as I lifted him in the air.
"Heh... You're too late... He's not here..." He said as blood ran down his chin. "Bullshit! Tell me where he is! Now, or I'll rip that snake right out of you!" I threatened. All three of my red wings twitched, telling me there was someone behind me.
I turned around, flinging Kabuto into that person. Both of them fell to the ground with Kabuto lying across Madara's body. "There you are, you motherfucking bastard!" I said. I summoned six fireballs around me and made them dash towards the two of them.
Not to any surprise, they were able to dodge those. I created a machine gun in my hand and aimed it at them. "Dodge this!" I shot at them and they ran away from each other, trying to get away from my bullets.
I kept shooting at Madara because he was the one I wanted to kill. "You're gonna pay for killing my mother!" I yelled, angrily as I continued to shoot at him.
I totally forgot about Kabuto until he kicked me in the back, sending me flying towards a wall. I crashed into it as my gun fell out of my hands. "Fuck..." I mumbled as pain coursed up and down my body. I opened my eyes, glaring at the two ninjas as they stood in the distance.
"I'm not done yet..." I peeled myself off the wall, floating in midair. I created a fireball in between my hands and raised it above my head, making it grow bigger. "Die!!!" I threw the fireball down on top of them as it created a semi-huge explosion.
When the explosion died down, I looked at my progress to find Kabuto and Madara not there. "Where did they go?" I mumbled while looking around. "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!"
I gasped as I saw a fireball heading my way. I flew out of the way, dodging the fireball. "Madara!" I yelled in anger as I darted towards him. I tackled him to the ground, his body dragging a crater beneath him.
Just as I was about to punch him, Kabuto's snake wrapped around my neck from behind. I gagged as I grabbed onto the snake's skin, feeling its hold tighten around my neck as it lifted me off Madara. "You're just as stupid as ever, Nue. I guess freaks never learn." Madara said.
I coughed and closed my eyes tightly, feeling my eyes change back to red. "Heh... I learn.. and I also adapt." I mentioned as I opened my right eye. I opened my mouth wide and bit down on the snake's skin.
Blood spurt out as I ripped the skin off the snake. I quickly chewed on the skin, then swallowed it. My eyes turned slit, snake eyes as my teeth turned into fangs and my skin began to form a snake pattern.
I kicked my legs up, kicking Madara under his chin and flipping myself behind Kabuto. I quickly summoned my trident and held the handle against his throat while my feet pressed against his back. "Bet you, you didn't see this one coming,"
I pushed my feet against Kabuto's back even more, making him grunt as he grabbed hold of the trident's handle. "I oughtta break your neck right here and now." I said. For some reason, that made him smirk.
"And you also ought to watch your back." He shot back. I turned my head and didn't see it coming in time as Madara hit me over the head with my own machine gun. I fell to the ground as I started to get a fucking headache.
"Goddamn you..." I muttered. I tried shaking the dizziness off, but I think I only made it worse as my head felt heavy. "You motherfucker... I'm gonna kill you." I stood to my feet, and when I did, Madara stabbed me in the stomach with a Kiragani Blade.
I gasped, looking down at the blade, then looked at him. "Bet you, you didn't see this one coming." Madara mocked before yanking the knife out of my stomach. I stumbled back while holding my wound as blood bled through my hands.
"You haven't learned a thing from that ridiculous mother of yours. You're still weak and vulnerable as ever." Madara said. I couldn't speak as I fell to my knees. "You're... wrong... My mother taught me a lot more than you think... A lot more..." I replied.
I took out my mother's scroll and said a few words from the scroll. A blue aura formed around my body, glowing for a few seconds until it faded. My stomach quickly healed itself and I stood to my feet. I punched Madara first, making him quickly crash into the wall.
"You didn't have this much power before. What did you do?" Kabuto asked, frowning. "We all have our secrets, Kabuto." I said. Just before I left, I took Mom's scroll, thinking it would come in handy. And thank Jashin, I brought it with me.
I attacked Kabuto, trying to kick him and punch him as he jumped back, dodging my attacks. "Now, you've got yourself into a shitload of trouble! You think this is bad?! Trust me, I've got a lot more in store for you!" I said. I spun around, kicking him in the side.
As he crashed into a wall, I spotted Madara getting himself out of the wall. I lunged towards him, crashing him deeper into the wall as we crashed into another wall. "I was wrong. Hotaru did teach you more than I expected." Madara said as he slowly stood to his feet.
"You were wrong about a lot of things." I said, glaring at him. I lunged toward him until a coffin suddenly shot up from the ground, getting in between us. "Getting scared already, Madara? Whose peaceful sleep are you disturbing this time?" I asked.
"I'm not the one who should be afraid right now." Madara said, as if he knew who was in the coffin. The lid fell forward, revealing the corpse behind it. My eyes widened.
"Dad..." I whispered. "I thought you'd like a little family reunion." Kabuto said from the hole Madara and I crashed through. "You motherfucker..." I said, glancing back at Kabuto with a glare. He smirked and my father's eyes opened.
"Nue?" Dad stepped out of the coffin, then looked around. "What... am I doing here? What's going on?" He asked. "It's a Reanimation Jutsu, Dad. We're gonna have to fight each other." I explained.
"Why would I wanna fight my own daughter?"
"We don't have a choice," I wiped my eyes with my sleeve before the tears could fall. "I'm sorry I dragged you into this mess, Dad. It's all my fault." I said. "Don't say that, Nue. None of this is your fault. Don't ever blame yourself for this..." My dad smiled at me.
"Nue, I'm so sorry." He apologized. "For what? You didn't do anything." I stated. "No, I should've protected you. I should've been a better father." Dad said. "No... You were the perfect father. The perfect dad." I said, smiling softly, in which he smiled back.
"How touching. Hurry up and get on with it." Kabuto said, making a hand sign. Something in Dad's eyes changed and he summoned his own trident. "I'm sorry, Nue." Dad said. "Don't be." I replied, summoning my katana.
The two of us clashed, both of us fighting for dominance. Dad's wings and tails were a lot larger than mine, so he used his red wing to cut into my cheek while his tails wrapped around my waist. He left me into the air, then threw me over to a wall.
My back smashed against the wall, making me cough up blood. "Shit... Dad's a lot stronger than me... Even in this state..." I grunted. "Nue, fight!" Dad called as he leaped towards me. I kicked off the wall, flying out of my Dad's attack.
I dashed towards him as he did the same. Our weapons clanged against the each other every time we tried to hit one another. "Nue, use the scroll!" Dad called, spotting it as it was sticking out of my pocket.
"What?!"
"Hotaru's scroll! Use it!"
"Why would I-?"
"You have to seal me inside the scroll!"
I gasped at what he said as I knew what he had in mind. In order to undo the Reanimation Jutsu on him, I have to seal him inside Mom's scroll. But I have to get Dad to stand on top of the scroll, and that's gonna be hard when the two of us are fighting.
But I can't do that to my own father. I can't seal him away for good. "Move!" Dad said as he performed some hand signs. "Water Style: Raging Waves!"
I quickly performed some hand signs of my own. "Earth Style: Earth Wall!" The earth wall emerged from the ground and Dad's attacked crashed into the wall. I gasped as I saw him jump over the wall and turned his trident into a scythe.
I leaped back and Dad smashed his scythe into the ground. He ran at me and tried to cut me with his scythe as I kept jumping back to avoid his attacks. I backed up into a wall and quickly used my wings and tails to block Dad's attack.
"Nue, you have to use the scroll! It's the only way we can end this!" Dad said as he pressed the scythe against my wings and tails. "But I can't seal you away! It's wrong!" I said. "You have to! Do it for me, Nue!" Dad said.
I used the Body Flicker Jutsu to teleport away from him. I quickly took out the scroll out and laid it out on the floor. My wing cut into the palm of my hand, spilling a drop of my blood onto the scroll. "Seal!"
The scroll glowed for a second as a seal was formed on the scroll. The moment I looked up from the scroll, Dad got in front of me and swung his scythe down on my shoulder. I screamed out in pain as I fell on my back. Dad stepped on my chest and pulled the scythe out of my shoulder.
"Nue..." Dad stared down at me with guilt as he raised the scythe over his head. "I'm sorry..." He said. "Dark Style: Black Shadow Clone..." I whispered. My shadow stretched between Dad's feet and turned into my figure. "Awakening Eyes..." I mumbled.
Blood red eyes glowed in the black clone's eye sockets so it could see and turned its hand into a spike. I closed my eyes tightly as I didn't want to see this next part. "Do it." I ordered the clone.
I heard my Dad grunt and I slowly opened my eyes as the black clone's spike was struck through his heart. Dad dropped his scythe as I took this opportunity to crawl out from under Dad's foot. I noticed his other foot was stepping on the scroll, on top of the seal.
I quickly made a hand sign and he froze in place. Now, he couldn't move at all.
"You... truly have grown up to be the perfect ninja... of the Houjuu Clan..." Dad said, smiling at me. "I'm sorry, Father..." I placed my hand over his cheek as tears escaped my eyes. "I'm truly sorry." I said. "Don't be... my child... Step forward,"
I did as he said and took a step forward. When I did, Dad gently kissed my forehead. "I love you." He whispered. "I love you, too." I said back. I made another hand sign and his soul got sucked into the scroll. "Goodbye... Father..." I said as the scroll closed itself.
"Wow, what a battle. Sealing your own father must've been hard for you." Kabuto said, smirking. I picked up Mom's scroll and glared at him. "Now I'm really gonna kill you." I said, coldly. Kabuto smirked again.
"You let your guard down at the worst time." He said, pointing at something behind me. Before I could figure out what he meant, I sword was driven through my chest from behind. And guess what... It was a Kiragani sword!
Just where the hell is Madara getting all these Kiragani weapons?! And why am I so vulnerable against this stuff?! I fell on the ground as felt nothing but intense pain. "It's time to end this, Nue. All your bravery and courage was a wasted effort. Time to go." Madara said, reaching for me.
"Noggin'!"
I glanced back as Megumi dashed at Madara out of nowhere and headbutted him in the head. "Megumi? How... are you here?" I asked, weakly. "Just hold tight, Nue-kun. I've gotcha." She said. "The sword... Take it out..." I pleaded.
"On it." She replied, and removed the sword from my body, making me grunt slightly. Once the sword was out of me, Megumi grabbed me and ran off into a hallway.
"Your body needs time to heal. That Kiragani sword did more damage to you than I thought." She informed as she sat me against the wall. "Megumi, how did you escape the force field?" I asked. "You made force field around us, Nue-kun. Not under us." She answered.
"Are you saying, you...?"
"Yup. I dug my way out of the force field. But don't worry. Karin and the others are still in there and they're safe and sound."
"Go back, Megumi."
"Huh?"
"I said, go back."
I grunted slightly as I used the wall to stand up. "This is my fight. I can have you getting hurt because of me." I said. I used the wall for a support as I slowly began to walk down the hall, heading back to the battle until Megumi ran out in front of me.
"Megumi, get out of my way. I have to finish this." I said. Megumi responded by slapping me. "No..." I looked at her as her hair covered her eyes.
"I'm not gonna let you throw your life away like this. I understand you wanna protect those who are important to you. But you can't do this alone." Megumi said. "Megumi..." My vision began blurry until I closed my eyes and collapsed to the floor.
"Nue-kun!"
I felt my body being picked up, then I felt myself being moved.
"Wake up... Come on, wake up, Nue-kun..." I heard Megumi said as she shook me slightly. But I didn't want to wake up. I was just so tired. "Nue-kun, please..."
I blacked out as I didn't know what was happening now. But I definitely woke up when I heard, "Oh no... Nue-kun..."
I opened my eyes as I found Megumi on top of me, cradling my head. I heard her sniffle, telling me she was crying. "You're right... Megumi..." I gently placed my hand on the back of her head and she gasped, sitting up as she looked down at me in shock.
"Nue-kun! I thought you were dead!"
"You're right. I can't beat him on my own. I just wanted... to keep you and Karin safe. But without even realizing it, I was hurting you guys by hurting myself," I slowly sat up and rested myself against the wall.
"I was never meant to fight on my own. I should've called out for help sooner. I'm so sorry, Megumi." I apologized.
"Oh, Nue-kun."
Megumi hugged me again and I hugged her back. "This time, let's finish them off together." Megumi said, looking at me. "You took the words right out of my mouth. Okay, now here's the plan..."
