Chapter 25: The Search for Zabuza's Blade
It's been a couple of months since I left Akatsuki. I had just woken up from my nap and now I'm walking into a nearby town. "Small town." I mumbled before walking ahead. This place hasn't changed a bit the last time I was here.
This surely brings back memories. "Oof!" Someone bumped their shoulder into me as they walked past me. "Hey, watch where you're going!" He snapped. "You bumped into me, stupid." I said. "Huh?! What did you just say?!" He said with a frown, facing me.
My eyes widened slightly when I recognized his face. It was one of Gato's bodyguards. "Tch. Just watch where you're going." He said, turning around to walk away. I grabbed his shoulder before he could go anywhere.
"You're not going anywhere." I said, coldly. "Huh?"
"Let's go for a walk, shall we?"
I picked him up from under his arms and took off into the sky. "Aaaah! Hey, put me down!" He yelled. "Now if I were to do that, you'd plummet to your death." I said, soaring through the sky. He looked down and immediately got scared.
"Help! This chick is crazy!" He yelled in fear. "Nobody's going to hear you all the way up here. If you keep struggling, I just might drop you." I warned.
"What do you want?!"
"I want to know where Zabuza's blade is."
"I don't know where it is!"
"You're lying."
I flew to a roof and dropped him. "Get away from me, you freak! What do you want from me?!" He yelled as he crawled away from me. "I want answers. Tell me where Zabuza's blade is. Now." I ordered as I walked towards him. "I don't know where it is!" He said.
I sighed. "Very well. We can do this the hard way," I grabbed his ankle and dragged him towards the edge. Still having hold of his ankle, I held him over the roof, threatening to drop him. He screamed as I stared at him with a blank face.
I made my eyes glow purple for a second before making them go back to their red color. "Now, Zori. Tell me where Zabuza's blade is." I commanded. "H-How do you know my name?" He stuttered. "Tell me where Zabuza's blade is." I repeated, ignoring his question.
"Screw you, bitch!" He yelled. I closed my eyes with a shrug. "Have it your way." I said. I let go of his ankle, letting him fall. I listened to him scream all the way down. "If you kill him, you won't find your answers to where Zabuza's blade might be." Eun mentioned.
I sighed and swooped down to Zori, saving him before he could hit the ground. I took him back to the roof and dropped him on the pavement. "Next time, I won't be there to catch you. Last chance, Zori. Where's Zabuza's blade?" I demanded.
"Okay, okay! I'll talk! A man named Tenzen Daikoku took it!" He said. "Why?" I demanded with a frown. "He wanted to fight the ninja who wielded that blade. But once he found out Zabuza was already dead, he just took the sword and left." Zori explained.
I turned my head to the side with a frown. "Tch. Greedy humans. All they look for is power so they can bring out the fear in other," I looked back at Zori. "Where does he live?" I demanded.
"His place is to the South, deep inside the forest. Rumor has it that several thousand mercenaries guard it. It supposed to be impenetrable." Zori said. "I see. Well, it won't impenetrable for long," I walked over to Zori and reached over to him.
He flinched, guarding himself, and I petted his head. He opened his eyes and looked at me. "See? Now was that so hard?" I asked with a creepy smile on my face. I took Zori back to the ground once I had the information I need.
"Oh, and one more thing, Zori. If you tell anyone about our little arrangement, I'll just have to kill you. Okay?" I said, smiling again. "Yeah, yeah! Okay! I won't tell anyone!" Zori said.
"Promise?"
"Yeah, I promise!"
"Good. Bye-bye, Zori. But if I ever run into you again, I will kill you." I glanced at him with a glare before walking to the South. "Wow, this place is bigger than I thought." I said, looking up at the building as I hid behind a tree.
I kneeled down and got out my gun. Due to my abilities, I have an infinite amount of bullets in the guns. "When I get home, I want yogurt... Yeah, yogurt." I said before standing up. I walked towards the building until I noticed a lot of soldiers around me.
"Who are you?" I heard someone yell. I didn't answer as the soft breeze blew through my hair. "Well? Answer me!" He ordered. "You have the Demon Zabuza's blade. I'd like to have it." I said. The men laughed at me.
"You have guts for a little girl!"
"Do you really think those things on your back are supposed to scare us?!"
"Kill her!"
I sighed as they charged at me. "The hard way it is." I said before pulling out two of my guns. "Should I kill them?" I wondered as the men got closer to me. "Nah. I say you just knock 'em out and get the blade. Easy in, easy out." Eun said.
"Okay." I replied. I jumped in the air and shot at the men, hitting a few in the head. Of course I didn't kill them. I charged the bullets so the men would be in a temporary death state. I landed on the ground in a kneeling position and ran raised my arms to the side, shooting at the men left and right, not missing a single one.
I lifted my head as I saw a man running at me with a spear. "Die!" He shouted as he went to stab me. "You first." I said, shooting him in the chest. After shooting and dodging attacks for about ten minutes, everyone was down and out.
"Don't worry, you're not dead. You'll just wake up with a massive headache." I said to the unconscious men. I made my guns vanish into a black fog before going inside the massive house. I noticed a soldier running at me with a sword and I casually shot him in the head.
"Not even close." I said as he wasn't coming close to hurting me. I made it to the top floor and spotted a man sitting in a chair. "I take it you must be Tenzen. Nice to meet you." I said, calmly. "What?! That's impossible! There's no way a little girl like you took out all those men!" Tenzen denied.
I stared at him with a calm expression. "I won't let you get in my way! Die!" Tenzen threw a shuriken at me, hitting me in the chest. I grunted slightly while taking a step back. "Such cruelty. My kind of style. It appears we have a lot more in common,"
I took out a gun, aiming it at him. "Don't you think?" I asked, putting my finger on the trigger. "But I'll get straight to the point. The reason why I'm here today is because you stole something that wasn't yours. The Executioner's Blade. I'll be taking it back." I said, calmly.
I glanced to the side when I saw a man crash through the wall with Zabuza's Blade. He went to hit me with the blade, but I stopped the attack with the palm of my hand. "Someone like you isn't worthy of wielding this blade." I mentioned.
The man's expression was covered in fear. "Don't worry, I won't kill you," I shot him in the stomach and he fell to his knees before falling on his side. "But you will wake up with a headache." I mentioned.
I faced Tenzen as he stood there in fear. "Tell me something, Tenzen. What made you think you had the right to take Zabuza's blade?" I asked, walking over to him. "H-How did you do that? Just w-what the hell are you?" Tenzen stuttered.
"I'm just someone who's curious... and impatient when she doesn't get her answer right away." I said as I aimed the gun in the middle of his head. "P-Please! Please don't kill me! I'll do anything! Just please spare me!" Tenzen begged.
"Begging at a time like this? Well, I suppose it's only natural when a human get scared." I said, placing my finger on the trigger. "P-Please...! Spare me!" Tenzen repeated. I sighed. "Good grief," I pulled the gun away from his head and walked away, walking over to Zabuza's blade.
"All you humans do is whine and beg until the hunter can't take it anymore," I picked up the blade and held it over my shoulder. "How annoying." I said as I walked towards the exit with my eyes closed, annoyed.
"Are you saying you were just toying with me?! You bitch! I'll make you pay for that!" Tenzen yelled. I glanced back as he threw two kunai knives at me. I grabbed them and flung back to him, stabbing his shoulder.
"You see? That's the kind of personality that'll get you killed." I said, turning around and aiming the gun at Tenzen. His expression changed from anger to fear as I aimed the gun at him. "Sleep tight, Tenzen." I said before shooting him in the head.
But of course, he wasn't dead. He was only in a temporary death state, just like the rest of his men. "So, what are you gonna do now? You gonna put the sword back?" Eun asked from inside my head. "No." I answered.
"No? What do you mean, no?"
"I don't want anyone else getting their hands on this blade, so I'll be keeping it."
Eun sighed. "Talk about being dense." She mumbled. "Not really." I replied. I stopped walking and gazed at the sky. "When I get home, I want yogurt... Yeah, yogurt." I said, then walked forward, returning to the woods.
Sasuke's POV
After killing Orochimaru and freeing Suigetsu from his prison, we headed out to find Zabuza's blade. Suigetsu said, he won't join me unless he has the blade. "It's not here. Sasuke, are you sure this is the right place?" Suigetsu asked me. "I am." I confirmed
We were at Zabuza's grave, but his sword wasn't there. "Well, it's not here, so what's the deal?" he asked. "I don't know. Look, I'm not the groundskeeper. Don't ask me. If it's gone, then someone must've taken it." I said.
"Well, yeah, of course. It's obvious. It's not gonna walk off on its own." He said as he looked back at the grave. "Sasuke. Sorry, but since Master Zabuza's blade is gone, so is any chance of me joining your team." Suigetsu said as he walked past me.
I looked at Zabuza's blade, noticing there was a flower there. Looks like someone was here earlier. We left the graves and started walking across the bridge. "What are you gonna do?" I asked Suigetsu.
"What else can I do? I'm gonna look for the sword. The blade of the Seven Ninja Swordsman of the Mist was passed down from generation to generation. That's the tradition. I was all set to become one of those swordsman. That's what I was training for. So, it only makes if Master Zabuza's gone, I'm the only one who should've inherited his Executioner's Blade." He explained as we walked until someone bumped into him.
"Why don't you watch where you're walking, idiot." The guy said. Suigetsu was about to say something but I quickly stopped him. "What, you got a problem, buddy? You wanna make something of it?" He said, as if he was trying to start a fight.
I glanced back at him. He immediately shut up and turned back around, talking gibberish. "Just watch it. I tell ya, this place is crawling with idiots. First it was that girl, and now it's this." He mumbled as he walked away.
A girl? Wonder what kind of girl he was talking about?
