I went into the house ,I saw Katie  sitting on the couch watching a reality show.  I became very egotistic but I  greeted her

" Good afternoon"

  There was no response.

I headed to go to the kitchen to prepare food for myself, I cooked a little portion of rice, only for me because I knew she would have  prepared something for  herself and my dad.

I came out with a plate of rice going to my room.

"That smells delicious." She smiled.

"Thanks"

"Where is the rest of it" She blabbed.

"What do you mean the rest of it" I nagged

"Hmmmmmmm the one me and your father will eat"

"Am I  his wife?"

"No "

"So figure it out ,you have time, he is still at work" I jeered

"You spoilt brat" she said raising a hand at me.

"Ohhhhhh thanks" I said as I left the room.

I was very concentrated on my food, when my phone vibrated ,it was Amanda.

Amanda:"Hey"

Me: "Hey , so how was school "

Amanda: "It was fine, how are you coping ."

Me: "I made friends with the popular kids and I have a party on Friday"

Amanda: " Wow you made progress so fast without me "

Me: "Yeah  but it's not as interesting with them as  it is with you."

Amanda: "Yeah no one can take my place I know."

Me: "Lol (laugh out loud)"

Amanda: "Gota go, need to study"

Me: "Kk"

It was around 3:00 pm , I had nothing to do so I decided to take a quick snooze

I woke up around 5:00pm, I went downstairs to watch TV, luckily  Katie wasn't there. Has I sat on the couch my dad walked in with a canton, he placed it on the table. "Hey guys  look at what I bought home" he opened the canton it was a chocolate cake.

"Wow what are we celebrating" Katie asked.

" I am celebrating you" he said has he hugged her.

" Why "She wondered.

" This is to celebrate the second day of our union,   I just felt like doing something special" he explained .

"Wow you are so wonderful and this is amazing" she kissed him then eyed me.

I couldn't bear the sight of both of them anymore ,I stood up , went to the kitchen. I sat on a stool pressing my phone. Dad came in  and  sat beside me.

"Kiddo" He started a conversation.

"  Yes sir "

"Why didn't you come to me for school money this morning . "

" Nothing I just thought you were busy "I reply with a sad tone.

"Well  I was; but that doesn't mean you have to starve"He clarified .

"You don't have to worry I can take care of myself"

"I know that you are a big girl but I still love you" He explained.

"I have heard you" I interjected

"We are going out for dinner today it was Katie's Idea" He resumed.

That was the only conversation I had with my dad since when Katie came into our life that didn't end with a fight or me walking out .
I was happy when he announced we where going out for  dinner, because it has been a long time since we had dinner at a restaurant. The last time we had dinner out was two days before my mother died.

I went to my room to get dressed.

I wanted to wear jeans but I decided to go with a  more formal wear, so I picked a short  purple lace dress with a blue belt. I packed my long virgin hair into two bonds . I  went downstairs, Katie was ready . She wore a plain jeans with a blue jacket , she usually dressed more glamorous so  I was surprised .

I looked at myself "I overdressed" I said as I turn back to change.

" Where are you going? we are leaving now" my dad shouted.

He wore a  jeans with a blue jacket which matched Katie's.

I was the odd one among them.

We all enter the car, I sat at the back seats while Katie and my dad sat at the front. I didn't know the restaurants we where going to until we entered palatable and parked . I was sure that night was going to be horrible because Katie was there.

We all took our seats.

I ordered jollof rice and chicken, Kate ordered fried rice with salad and my dad ordered red soup.  He was never known for eating rice.
