Katie left without saying another word to my dad.

"Because of all this family drama I forgot that human being has to eat."

I run to the kitchen and prepared indomie. I was about to put my food into a plate when I heard footsteps. I didn't even bother to check who it was because I was extremely hungry and that would have wasted my time. I dished the food, has I was about to eat, someone grabbed my hand from behind. It was Katie she pushed me to the wall and started to strangle me. I was in so much pain it was like, you knew the world was about to end.

"You; you are happy right, you miss your mum right, don't worry I will send you to her." She threatened with so much annoyance and anger in her eyes.
I couldn't shout for help, I didn't  even have energy to move my body talk less of shouting

She kept on strangling, I thought I was going to die.

"This is what brats like you deserve, Idiot, fool you think you can expose me to that you money brained father." She insulted

My dad interrupted the attempted murder by pushing her to the floor.

"My stomach, my stomach do you want to kill your child before it's born" she yelled.
I took some seconds too catch my breath.

"What did you say!" My dad asked surprised and happy.

At that moment it seemed like he has forgiven Katie, and cared less about how I was feeling. He rushed her to the hospital and left me lying down on the ground helpless. He had completed forgotten that she tried to kill me few seconds ago. It seems like I was back at level one.

I managed to get up. I was in so much pain but I couldn't neglect the fact that I was also hungry. I sat on a stool and ate my food.

I started to think of what Katie said
"She is pregnant and she still have strength to kill me. It's a lie." I rolled my eyes.

"She is one big drama queen" I resumed.

"Abeg who get time for that bitch"

I forgot about that topic and took some pain reliever.

My dad and Katie came back for the hospital.

"Kiddo good news you are going to have a sibling." My dad announced.

"Wow siblings great." My voice  deepened in sarcasm.

For the first time ever he actually noticed the tune in my voice and realized I was being sarcastic.

"I know she made a mistake but don't we all? Now that a baby is coming we have to forgive and forget." He explained.

It was only God that knows what she told him at the hospital.

"OK"

Why didn't he think,maybe the child was not his? Why did he accept her so easily? Why is it now that the pregnancy had to come? Those where the questions revolving around my head.

I knew in my heart I could never trust her, especially after the murder attempt.

I went to my room and slept. It was another  morning, I was so hungry. I got up, went to the kitchen to make my breakfast.  I discovered Kate was not in the kitchen so I went to report a missing person case to my dad, not like I cared.

" Dad where is Katie?"

" I don't  really know, is she not in the kitchen?" He asked

"No"

"If you find her tell me. Did you give anybody my account number?" He asked stressed about something.

"No! okay see you later" I went upstairs take my bath and got dressed for school.

I trekked to school because surprisingly my dad didn't give me money for school bus. On the way I saw Samantha she was a dark skin girl with beautiful black eyes, both of us headed to school with a big smile on our faces. "So how is , you know the popular girls squad?" samantha started a conversation.

" ohhhhh that; it's okay"

"Sure! it's just, okay you know  you are very popular now!"

"Yes I know but wasn't I  before"

"Yeah of course; you're daddy's rich girl but now you're with the squad, the big girls so  definitely you will become more popular like; you know what I mean ." she chattered.

"Believe me you're better off where you are, all they do is talk and talk and talk about boys and shit, it really annoys me but don't tell them." I chattered as well.

"Trust me I wouldn't tell them anything. scout's honour." She smiled

"But you are not a scout ." I squeaked.

"yeah I know it's just something people usually say  " she laughed

"No they don't , it's only scouts that say that," I squeaked again.

"okay, okay, okay, Samantha's  honor. Is that better or should I change it again" we both giggled.

"No no no this one is good, no it's great"

"So how is Dan?" She became serious.

"Dan Dan Dan ohhhh who is Dan again I can't remember." I ribbed.

"You know dey alright"

"His fine lover girl" I commented.
