Chapter 8 - Cafe Kousaka

Kuroko waits for his former classmate who is now a successful architect. He notices that the stairs are no longer in it's original state and some of them are beginning to break free. Using his phone, Kuroko goes online and browses through the internet. He starts looking up at all the possible online auctions that might be selling his sisters costumes. Sure enough there's a collector who is selling all the original costumes that Honoka wore when she was still with Muse. Including the one that she wore when Muse made their final performance at the Akiba Dome.

Using his celebrity status, he's able to convince the seller to let him be the one to buy them. He then looks for Yukiho's costumes online. He sees another seller that is putting up all of his youngest sister's costumes for sale. Just like with the first one. He buys them from the collector and have it sent to his mansion. He pays both persons online. Minutes later his old high school classmate arrives at the front of the house.

????: Glad to see you again Kuroko.

Kuroko: Likewise Kotaru.

Kotaru: So what is it that you want me to do?

Kuroko: You're good at renovations and refurbishing buildings right?

Kotaru: Yeah I am. What building do you want me to bring back to life? You didn't want to discuss about it on the phone. So I'm beginning to get curious.

Kuroko: It's this building that we are standing in front of. (Points to his old house.) Think you can get it back to it's original state?

Kotaru: This is your old house right? I thought that this place was sold already.

Kuroko: Yes it is. But I have plans to buy it back from the new owner who didn't want to use it. And then I will have a lawyer to go with me to city hall and discuss all the legal issues. After that I will call you again once everything is properly settled.

Kotaru: Alright. But first I need to assess the building to see if there are any areas or parts of the house that need to be repaired or replaced.

Kuroko: Let's go inside and see for yourself.

Kotaru: Why do you want to buy back your old house anyway? What are you going to do with it?

Kuroko: I made a promise to my parents that I will give them their own cafe in Akihabara before I left for the US to be a rockstar. I'm going to fulfill that promise even though they are not around anymore.

Kotaru: I heard about what happened to them five months ago. I even attended the wake and the funeral.

Kuroko: Then you must have known what happened to my sisters after that.

Kotaru: No I didn't. I was too busy at work back then.

Kuroko: I see...... Well we better get inside so that you can see what needs to be done with the house.

Kotaru: Good idea. This is definitely going to be a challenge for me.

As the two former classmates go inside the old Kousaka residence. A ginger haired girl is now in front of the manga and doujinshi shop. Noticing a "Help Wanted" sign she goes in and looks at the different manga and doujinshi on display. The store clerk who's manning the counter looks at her while she's checking out the items. The woman who is probably in her late 30's carefully observes Honoka as she gets amazed at the number of mangas and doujinshis that are for sale. Minutes later Honoka approaches her.

Honoka: Excuse me.

????: Yes? How can I help you?

Honoka: I saw a "Help Wanted" sign outside. Are you short on staff in this business?

????: Yes we are. We could use another hand to help us run the store. Do you have any experience working in a manga and doujinshi shop?

Honoka: Yes I do. Back in...... Nevermind what city where I used to work in a manga and doujinshi shop. But I eventually got fired in the end as a branch manager. The shop that I managed started to do poorly in terms of sales. So the owner decided to shut it down.

????: I see...... Unfortunately the manager is currently busy at the moment. So she might not be able to attend to your inquiry.

Honoka: What time is she going to be able? Is it ok if I leave my number to you so that you can call me if she's ready to see me?

????: Of course. Just leave your name, address, and contact number so that she get in touch with you personally.

Honoka: Thank you. (Writes her name, address, and contact number on a piece of paper.)

????: You're welcome. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

Honoka: I'm just curious about the number of mangas and doujinshis sold here. It looks like most of the shelves are half empty.

????: Honestly, most of the people here prefer to read a manga or a doujinshi. They are not into those idol thingy in the other cities.

Honoka: What do they think of idols? If you don't mind me asking?

????: They think of idols as nothing more but a waste of time. Especially those so called school idols. In fact a lot of teenagers here aren't fascinated with the school idol phenomenon.

Honoka: Really?

????: Yeah. A lot of them are more keen on concentrating their studies. They prefer books over those cutesy costumes that the school idols wear.

Honoka: I see...... Well that's good to hear about the girls here. At least they don't won't experience the hardships of being a school idol. As well as the betrayal that comes with it.

????: Betrayal?

Honoka: Yeah. I know somebody who was betrayed by her former fellow school idol group mates.

????: Ooh....... That sounds interesting. What happened between them?

Honoka: This person I know back in the city that I came from. Her parents died in a car accident. Her former school idol group was asked to perform in a concert with other former school idol groups.

????: And????

Honoka: Because she was still in mourning. She didn't want to perform with them. Instead she asked them to just go on performing without her. She also said to them not to mention what she's going through.

????: And then what happened?

Honoka: Her blonde half Russian half Japanese friend and group mate took it the wrong way. They performed uninspired and to make matters worst for the girl. The blonde haired girl mentioned the unwanted tragedy that her friend is going through.

????: So what did the girl do after that?

Honoka: She fell in love with her sister and the ex-girlfriend of her sibling. Then they moved out of the city and went to a place where no one recognizes them.

????: Oh wow! Sounds like an interesting story that can be turned into a manga or doujinshi.

Honoka: Hihi! I know. But honestly I think that who ever wants to turn her experience into a story. He or she will have to get her permission first.

????: Yeah. Kinda like a girl I know who loves writing mangas and doujinshis. But her grandmother is against it. I will tell you about it some other time.

Honoka: Yeah. I will look forward to it. Hopefully you can tell me when I am working here.

????: Oh don't worry. I'm sure that the branch manager will love to hire you.

As the two girls continue to discuss about Honoka landing a job at the manga and doujinshi shop. Kuroko is now discussing with his former classmate about the possible cost of renovating his old house and converting the first floor into a cafe. He wouldn't mind selling his mansion and letting go of his household help. For him, what is more important is that he gets reunited with his sisters. Nevermind if they are in an unholy relationship with another girl. After that his old classmate leaves. He then calls again the detective that he wants to hire. As for the lawyer that he needs to help him get his old house back. One person is on his mind. And he wants to hire her and at the same time get her life back on track.

(Author's Note: Honoka, Alisa, and Yukiho have bought new phones. But not the ones that are high end. Meaning they bought cheap basic cellphones as a replacement for their touch screen phones. And at the same time they changed their numbers. As for Eli Ayase, I will be writing a future chapter on how she got to be an alcoholic. So please bare with the slow updates.)
