She could have easily mislead him into thinking that she didn't received it. But the pain of being left behind by an older sibling really hurts her. That is why she was too excited to manage Kuroko's career from the beginning.
They were both new in the recording industry. Kuroko has written and composed all of his songs almost singlehandedly. They are nearing the tenth year of their partnership. And they have become closer with each other. Luckily for both of them. Their relationship as manager and talent wasn't misconstrued as a showbiz affair.
The following morning the sisters in love has checked out of the hotel where they temporarily staying at. After packing everything, they move to the apartment that Honoka saw and inspected. The women then talked to the owner and gave their initial payment. They were lucky that the room Honoka found is on the ground floor. This makes it easier for them to leave and go back once all three of them land a job in the city.
Honoka: Ok now that we have finally found a permanent place to stay. It's time for us to look for a job here. We need to not only maintain our funds. But we also have to sustain and increase it. I will go try out the manga shop.
Alisa: I'm going to see if the local library here needs new employees.
Yukiho: I will try the city hall. Maybe they need an accountant there.
While the three women go on separate ways and look for a job. Kuroko starts to browse through the recipe book and notices four letters inserted in between two pages. All of them are written by his parents and his two sisters. And they were written during his stay in the United States.
Mr. Kousaka's letter:
"Dear Kuroko,
If you are reading this it means that me and your mom are no longer in this world. First I want to know how are you doing in your career. I hope you didn't get influenced by the people around you into taking illegal drugs. Another thing I'm happy that you are getting successful in being a rockstar. At the start I really disapproved of what you want. I was hoping that you would be the one to takeover our business. To be honest I was wishing you graduate in college here. Your sisters have made it big here. Both of them are winners of the biennial Love Live competition. Although at first I was reluctant to show you my support for your career. I want you to know that I followed it and make sure that I get updated with what is going on with you. I hope that someday you'll return to Japan. May Kamisama keep his watchful eye on you always.
Love,
Dad
End of Mr. Kousaka's letter.
Kuroko felt so happy after reading the first letter. The acceptance that he has long been waiting for from his father. It finally came even though it wasn't the right time anymore. He takes a breather and wipes a few tears on his eyes. Something tells him that the letters were written while he was in America. He decides to read the other three letters some other time.
He opens his laptop and searches for a credible detective agency that can help him find his sisters. Meanwhile the three lovers start looking for jobs in their respective destinations. Alisa heads off to the public library and looks for a vacant post. Yukiho goes to the city hall to apply as an accountant. While Honoka goes to the manga shop to see if there's a vacant position there. Meanwhile back in Tokyo, Maki tries to retrace everything on her own. She goes back to Honoka's old house to see if Kotori and Umi might have missed a clue that could lead them to where they are exactly.
Maki: *Ok...... First of all...... What the fuck am I doing here? I'm not a detective. Ugh! Pull yourself together Maki Nishikino! You're supposed to find some clues that Umi and Kotori might have missed when they went here a few days ago.*
Just as she is standing in front of Honoka's old house. An elderly woman passes by and stops beside Maki. The red head gets scared at first thinking that she's going to faint. The woman then suddenly speaks about the former Kousaka residence.
Granny: I remember buying sweets from this place. It's a shame that none of the siblings are able to continue what their parents started.
Maki: Uh...... Excuse me ma'am. Do you know who used to live here?
Granny: Of course I do. This used to be the Kousaka residence. I remember seeing how happy the three siblings are every time they would play out here on the street.
Maki: What happened to them after their parents died?
Granny: The elder brother left here before their parents died to be a rockstar. The younger ones became school idols. But when their parents met a tragic demise. Those two changed completely.
Maki: Changed completely? What do you mean they changed ma'am?
Granny: I remember Honoka Kousaka being a happy go lucky energetic teen. While Yukiho Kousaka was a responsible teen. But after their parents death. Honoka suddenly became less energetic. She would often sit by the counter and wait for the time to pass by.
Maki: What about Yukiho Kousaka? What happened to her?
Granny: She became just like her sister. Both of them didn't bother to try and takeover their parents business. Those two would help their parents during weekends. But they seemed have lost interest in maintaining the business. They made a few sweets to sell. But it wasn't as good as their parents.
Maki: Granny can we talk about this again tomorrow? If you are coming here again. I promise to take care of you in exchange for any information about Honoka and her sister.
Granny: Are you a doctor?
Maki: Yes I am. I can give you the medicine that you need.
Granny: Alright...... I will tell you everything that happened five months ago tomorrow.
Maki: Thank you granny. You don't know how much it means to me.
Granny: Say...... You look familiar. Aren't you one of Honoka's friends? And I think you're also a member of Mu's. Am I correct?
Maki: Yes I am one of her friends. And I am a member of Mu's.
Granny: If you ever see Honoka Kousaka again. Please tell her that this neighborhood is no longer the same without her.
Maki: I will granny, I will. And thank you for giving me some vital information.
Granny: You're welcome sweetie. And please tell me your name if we meet again.
Maki: Alright. Goodbye granny.
Granny: Goodbye too.
Even though it was not much of information that Maki could get from the elderly woman. It was still enough to know what happened to Homura after the death of the Kousaka siblings parents. And she will use this information to know the whereabouts of the Kousaka sisters and Alisa Ayase. She quickly goes to her parked car next to a tree outside of the street where Honoka's house is located. She starts the engine and goes to a coffee shop in Akihabara. This is where she plans to tell the others about what she has learned from the elderly woman. A small lead but it is a perfect enough to at least know where they truly are.
