Chapter thirteen
Time flew by, it didn't even matter to everyone, not even the teachers. It was different then usual days, where everything dragged by at snails pace. No, today, Casey sat and zoned out an all of his classes, only becoming aware of the time when it was three minutes before the lunch. He had been dreading lunch so much, he wasn't prepared to sing in front Kellin. Kellin was always on his mind, as of lately, but what would he think of his singing? Singing in front of the choir not only terrified him, but it gave him a boost of confidence that was short lived. The irregular beat his heart was racing out was unhealthy, and it did nothing but add to the sweat forming on his palms. It's not like his classes did anything, so he couldn't care about what his teachers droned on and on about. The lunch room was filled with people, and he had no clue where Kellin would be, besides, what about Andrew? He wanted to start hanging out with him too.
Casey's thoughts were interrupted by the bell ringing, that resonated through the classroom like a shrill shriek from a banshee. If leaving the classroom was a competitive race, everyone would be participants. They cleared out so fast, even the teacher was left shocked, but it was nothing new. Everyone left that fast because they had their cars that screamed 'rich kid' and 'daddy's pay check' waiting for them. Plans for the next party was nothing new, but as Casey was getting out of seat, he heard a sharp tap on his desk. He looked up and meet the gaze of the queen B, Mackenzie Lumeriaz. Her eyes were grey like melting ice on a white table, so cold and calculating, but drawn over like a teenagers art class painting. Her brunette hair was pulled back in tight pony tail, pulling all her facial features up, so up that they were three steps away from straining skin. Her face was caked over with makeup, nothing seemed real about her, her makeup reminded him of clown face paint from a horror movie. Casey couldn't understand what everyone saw in her, she was just too much to take in at once without blinding yourself with the amount of fake radiating off of her. She had fur riding her shoulders, from an animal she didn't care about. Her pink and white Versace dress hid nothing to the imagination, showing off her cleavage and hugging her curves. Casey had to keep himself from gagging at the sight; he was a firm believer in the saying, 'too much is too much'. She wasn't extremely tall, but she towered over Casey due to her platforming shoes she was wearing. To Casey, she was far from a turn on, but to everyone else, she was the sex goddess that preached she was a virgin at heart, though everyone knew the truth.
Casey let out a sigh, and tried to appear not surprised by her very presence, even though he was rather surprised she even acknowledged him in the first place, since all of her friends had no clue who he was, so he was even more astonished. Her drawn on eyebrow raised in confusion, before she plastered a fake smile on her face.
"You're Casey right?" she said, her voice flowing like honey, but was nothing more then a disguise for the nails on the chalk board emotions behind it.
"Yes...what do you want?" he hadn't meant to come off rude, but he was genuinely curious as to why she was talking to him to begin with.
She wasn't even fazed by what he said previously, brushing it off at face value, but her eye twitched in agitation.
"A few of my little birdies in choir said a certain angel by the name of Casey sang in the choir this morning. Following me so far?"
"...um, yeah, that's me, but what does that have to do with anything?" Casey replied, trying to not flush at the mention of people in choir calling him angel. He was more confused then flustered at the moment. He just wanted to conversation to be over with.
"Well, I have this birthday bash coming up, and I have an offer to propose for you, angel" she said, a sinister smile on her cherry kissed lips.
Casey looked at the window of the classroom that faced the hallway, seeing Kellin looking in, a confused look in his face, matching Casey's. Kellin was gesturing to Mackenzie, clearly just as bewildered. Casey diverted his attention back to Mackenzie, gesturing for her to continue.
"I would like for you to go up and sing for the entirety of my birthday bash, so basically you're invited to the biggest birthday bash of the year" she said, the smile on her pulled back face widening.
Casey's eyes widened in shock, that was the least thing he expected her to say. His quickly shook his head. As if he was going to go and sing for a girl he couldn't give a damn about for her birthday. He didn't want to sing to the entire school body, that just wasn't going to happen.
Has soon as he shook his head, her appearance changed in instantly. She went to a fake barbie, to a killer snake in an instant. She leaned forward, invading his personal space with more of her perfume and expensive taste.
"No? You don't get to say no to me Casey" she said, her tongue laced with venom and anger.
Casey was sweating profusely, glancing over at Kellin for help, his eyes pleading, but she had locked the door, so Kellin could do nothing but writhe in anger outside of the window. He tried to not let himself get shaken up, snapping his gaze back over to Mackenzie.
"Yes I can, Mackenzie. Your offer means nothing to me, since I don't even know you, and besides, I would be getting nothing out of the bullshit birthday bash. So why do you think I said no?" Casey replied, letting some of fear leave his eyes, to be replaced with a ever growing anger towards the plastic teenage girl in front of him.
She leaned back, a smile on her face, as if she was enjoying their talk a little too much, like she had already won.
She probably has..
"Wow, feisty, I like that about you angel. But you didn't let me finish, and it's rude to interrupt people while they are talking" she said, scolding him as if he was a child, yet they were only a year apart, since she was a junior.
Casey had to force the eye roll on the edge of his eyes at the very instant. He waited for her to continue, trying to contain the annoyance towards her at bay.
"Me and my family will pay you big time cash, to go up on the stage and sing for a few hours. You don't even have to socialize with anyone, since that is clearly not your strong suite angel" she said, insulting Casey with words that barely hurt, since it was nothing more then the truth. But she wasn't done yet.
"Besides...you wouldn't want to let your little secret be told to the entire school body, know would you?"
Those words froze Casey in his place, his heart freezing and dropping to the furthest depths of hell. She knew, and he couldn't do anything about that fact. He knew what would happen if anyone knew about it. His eyes flooded with fear and anger, with hatred at the highest level for the blackmailing bitch in front of him,
"I bet Kellin would love to know all about you, and your little crush on him."
Her words resonated in the depths of soul, his whole body felt like it was being crushed under her cold gaze.
He had no choice... he had to agree...
And he couldn't back out of it.
She smiled, because she knew her words had stuck. She backed away from him, her eyes filled with glee, because she knew she had already won the battle.
"So what do you say angel, shall I see you two weeks from now at my birthday bash?"
...
...."okay".
