Chapter eleven
Casey and Kellin had raced out the building, down towards Kellin car. Casey had gotten their last, much to his dismay. He hadn't smiled and laughed so hard since they had left, this being the most he has ever. He got into Kellin car, a wide smile on his and Kellin's face. His face was red from laughing while running through the hallway, no doubt waking up some of his the other residents. His parents hadn't even came home the night before, no doubt meeting up with other people and ignoring each other's existence. But he didn't mind, the silence of his apartment was like company, and he stayed up almost all night texting Kellin. The nicknames, the flirtatious texts, it was just so new to him. He glanced over to see Kellin starting up his car, so they could get to school. He was slightly panting, as he started the car, smiling all the while. He snapped his gaze up towards Casey, showing off a beaming smile. Casey felt his insides melt, his face quickly growing cherry red. He averted his gaze, looking out the window, a smile growing on his face, has heart raced like he had just ran a mile. Kellin pulled out of the parking lane, onto the road. They were riding, not talking, and it was anything but awkward; it was a comfortable silence as Trey Songz washed over them. The smiles never left their faces, as they were getting closer to the school. When they got in front of the school, and parked in student parking, they looked over at each other and smiled, then getting out of the car. They started walking over to the school entrance, Kellin finally breaking the silence.
"Hey Casey?" Kellin said, looking over at Casey.
"Yeah?" he replied, as he got closer to the school entrance.
"...You still haven't licked the bottom of your shoe yet" Kellin said, with a sinister grin on his face.
Casey groaned, rolling his eyes. He had thought that Kellin had forgotten about it, and that he was in the clear. He was laughing internally, but he would rather not lick his shoe in front of his classmates. He would become the next laughing stalk or the next meme.
"Do I really have to lick my shoe? Can't we work something out?" Casey said, whining a little bit, while a smile grew on his face.
"Did you really just whine at me?" Kellin said, laughing a little bit.
"And yes, you really have to, right now" Kellin said, looking over with a mischievous smile.
Casey sighed, leaning down, grimacing at his dirty blue converse. He let out a sigh, looking around, then pulling his shoe up and giving it a kitten lick. Bile quickly came up his throat, that he had to push down, in an effort to not throw up. His shoes were just as bad, if not worse, on the bottom as they were visually appealing. Kellin was losing his mind, as Casey was trying not to vomit on the floor he had both of feet planted on. Casey stood back up slowly, trying not to die from disgust. Over exaggerating? Sure, but it was some nasty stuff on the bottom of shoe, from god knows where. Students turned towards them, hearing the howling laughter coming from Kellin, as he couldn't contain himself. Tears were streaming down his face, as he laughed at Casey. Casey couldn't help but snicker at all of Kellin's laughter, eventually joining him as he laughed. He began to pull Kellin down the hall, so that they were not in the center laughing loudly, disturbing others as they tried to get to their first period. He directed Kellin to the back of the school, in a less crowded area, so that their laughter could die down a bit. He looked over at Kellin's flushed face, feeling his heart flutter a little bit, just by looking at him. They were both leaning against the lockers, chilling a little bit, but his heart was going a mile a minute.
Why can't he stop his rapid beating heart?
Why does he only feel this when he is with Kellin?
Kellin wiped his eyes, still giggling a little bit, as he tried to calm himself a little bit.
"Whew! Goddamn cookie, you almost had me dying of laughter! Your face, oh my god" Kellin said, chuckling a little bit, wiping the tears from his eyes.
"It was not that funny" Casey replied, laughing a little.
"Say's you" Kellin said, laughing and smiling.
Casey smiled back, looking over at Kellin, while Kellin looked over at him. They both didn't say anything, just looking at each, sitting in another comfortable silence. They both had a goofy grin on their faces, as they looked at each other. Just drinking in each other's presence, comfortable.
Then the bell rang.
They snapped out of their trance, Casey's face heating up, burning like a candle. Kellin coughed, and looked away, his ears turning a light pink. Casey averted his gaze, towards the floor. They had been looking into each others eyes for a long time. It was beyond him as to why he didn't or couldn't look away. His heart was going a mile a minute, looking at Kellin's face. He covered a hand over his face, only to hear a cough, and a sigh. He looked up to see Kellin looking at him with a smile, which was infectious. He couldn't help but smile back, even though he was a blushing mess.
"What's your first period Casey?" Kellin asked, still smiling, as students rushed pass them to get their first period. They only had five minutes to talk, and get to class, so everyone was in a rush.
"It's choir" Casey replied, smiling still.
"Damn! One: I have math, two: didn't expect that, you have to sing for me sometime cookie" he said with a wink, causing Casey to look away as his ears and face grew a darker pink.
"No thank you, I'm not that good" Casey said, feeling suddenly shy and insecure. He had never sang for anyone before, not since he left Sacramento. He didn't even know if he sounded really good.
"That's a bunch of bull. I bet you have a voice like a angel" he said, beaming as he looked over at Casey.
Casey shook his head, but couldn't help but smile anyways.
"Maybe..." he said, smiling shyly at the ground.
Kellin smiled even wider, as he couldn't wait to hear Casey's voice. He was surprised that he had even given him a maybe, but it didn't stop him from smiling and doing a tiny victory dance, which caused Casey to laugh a little bit.
"Okay okay, enough. What lunch do you have?" Casey said, smiling.
"I have lunch after fourth period" Kellin replied.
"Okay, I have the same lunch as you. Meet me on the roof during lunch" Casey said with a wink, leaving Kellin hanging as he began to walk down the hallway to choir.
"Wait, What?!" Kellin shouted, clearly shocked a little bit by Casey's parting words.
"You heard what I said cinnamon roll!" Casey shouted back, giggling a little bit. He heard a long sigh, followed by laughter. He continued walking down the hall, when he felt someone grasp his shoulder leaning into his ear. It scared him, since he hadn't been expecting that to happen, but he knew who it was instantly.
"See you then cookie" Kellin whispered into his ear, before taking off in the other, laughing a little bit as he ran to not be late to first period. Casey blushed intensely, has his heart was racing, like he could still feel hear Kellin's deep voice rumbling in his ear, hot breath on his ear. He tried to shake the feelings he felt, as he too, started sprinting down the hall towards the choir room. He barely made it before the bell rang, his face still a blushing mess, but everyone assumed it was from him almost being late to class. He quickly walked over to the stands, to where he sat, in the back of the group. He plopped down, putting his head in his hands, his face turning a scarlet color as he couldn't stop thinking about Kellin.
Jeez...
Today is going to be an eventful one..
