the only way he could survive those following months after was to be sedated.

he took medicine after medicine

and he mixed it with alcohol.

but for her, he stopped smoking.

he wanted to stop drinking but he wanted to forget.

forget what happened
forget shes dead
forget that his chance was gone.
forget what he promised once more was never fullfilled.

she was gone.

he had turned into someone he no longer knew but he no longer cared.

and in a sense, he understood exactly how she felt that year he left her.

except she had a chance and he didn't.

he had lost his chance.

his last chance with her.

but he decided to promise her one last thing.

and this indeed he could keep.

he promised her he would never love again.
