Jace  charged Alec. Alec dived back and moved out of the way as Jace lunged. He missed but rolled back to his feet and ran for Alec Again.

While Jace kept trying to attack Alec, Magnus looked at Evan. " I thought you said he'd know Alec was his Parabatai? Parabatai's don't hurt or attack each other." Says Magnus.

Evan laughed. " You stupid Warlock, don't you think I know that?!" Says Evan.

" Then why is he attacking Alec?" Says Magnus.

" Because that's what I want him to do." Says Evan.

" But he's his Parabatai, he would never... "

Evan cut him off mid sentence by rushing forward, he caught Magnus by suprise and shot a blast of magic at Magnus, it hit Magnus in the chest  and sent him flying.

Magnus hit the ground hard on his back, he slowly sat up and looked at Evan. " I know their Parabatai, but this spell is so strong he has no choice but to do it." Says Evan.

Magnus slowly rose to his feet. " When I read that spell it said it only needed one Warlock to make it work." Says Magnus.

" So what?" Says Evan.

" Why did you need me if you could have done it yourself?"

" To make it stronger." 

" Why?"

Evan smiled. " Because some people might be strong enough to fight the spell, but if two of the most powerful Warlocks did the spell it would be to strong for them to fight, and soon I'll have Alec, and when I do, after you help me gain control over every Shadowhunter I'm going to kill you both, then I'll have control over them forever." Says Evan.

Magnus was angry. Nothing but pure energy flared and crackled in sparks in Magnus's hands. " No you won't.  You never will. This plan will fail and you'll never win. THIS ENDS NOW!!" Yelled Magnus. He dived forward and slammed his hands into the ground creating a blast of magic so powerful Evan was knocked clean off his feet and slammed into a wall. Magnus stood up straighter. 

Evan slowly rose to his feet. " If it's a fight you want Warlock, it's a fight you'll get." Says Evan. He screamed and rushed forward. His hands flaring with his magic, and Magnus did the same.

Jace was fighting Alec who was now trying to block every blow that came from Jace. Alec didn't understand why Jace would attack him, yes the spell would control him, but wouldn't their Parabatai bond be stronger then the spell? Apparently not? Thought Alec.

Jace landed a punch and hit Alec right in the face. Alec stumbled back but kept blocking. He wasn't fighting back yet. He couldn't hurt his Parabatai, but he might just have to if Jace left him no choice. Alec tried to reach the real non mind controlled Jace, his real Parabatai.

" Jace its me Alec. Your Parabatai." Yelled Alec. He just kept saying that till Jace tackled him and started punching and punching. Alec had his arms blocking Jace from hiting his face. " Jace please!!" Yelled Alec.

Jace's punches faltered on the next punch giving Alec the chance he needed. He fliped them to where he was now using all of his strength to hold Jace down. Jace however had a small dagger and managed to stab the tip into Alec's side causing him to jump back in suprise. Jace floped them again but they ended up rolling fighting for the dagger. Till finally Jace pinned Alec down and went to stab the dagger at Alec's face. Alec managed to free his arms and had to use both hands to prevent the point from sinking into his right eye. " JACE PLEASE!! THIS ISN'T YOU!! SNAP OUT OF IT PLEASE?!!" Yelled Alec.

Jace's grip lossened some and Alec knew what he had to do. He knocked the dagger from Jace's grip and rammed his head into Jace's, startling him, Alec fliped them over again, grabed the back of Jace's head and had no choice but to slam his head into the ground hard. Jace cried out but stayed down. He was awake just to weak to do anything.

Alec felt bad for doing that but he had no choice. If he hadn't he'd still be fighting for his life. " Sorry Jace." Says Alec. He reached over and grabed the dagger and looked to see Magnus still fighting Evan.

Alec could hear them. " You will never win against me Magnus Bane!!" Shouted Evan, as he finally landed a hit on Magnus.

Magnus flew back and hit the ground so hard it knocked the breath out of him. Evan was right above him with his hands raise, holding a huge fire ball. Alec had the dagger and saw he had a clear shot at Evan, he reeled back, ready to throw when a hand was placed on his shoulder. He looked and saw Jace there. " Let me do it." Says Jace. Alec nodded and gave him the dagger.

Then you  heard Evan laugh. " Don't worry Bane, this will be quick." 

Then it was as if everything went in slow motion. Magnus turned his head to the side and closed his eyes tight and screamed as he stuck his hand up and hit Evan with a small blast of magic that only sent him stumbling. Jace then threw the dagger as hard and fast as he could. Alec didn't look. He knew by the sound the dagger had found its target. Then they heard a clatter of the knife hiting the ground. Alec looked.

Evan stood there, nothing but shock on his face, his eyes wide and mouth partly open. Blood soaked the material around his chest where the dagger that was now on the floor had hit. He went to say something but fell to the ground before he could, never to get up again.

Magnus was breathing heavy breaths but had seen everything. He sighed in relief that it was finally over and laid on his back and closed his eyes, and smile plastered on his face. Jace looked at Alec and they just started laughing in relief.

" Thank you Jace. For taking that shot." Says Alec.

Jace grinned. " Hey what are Parabatai's for?!" 

Alec laughed again. " What about the spell!" Says Alec.

Magnus slowly got up and walked over to Jace and put glowing blue hands to his temples and concentrated. " Good news. When Alec hit you in the head he broke you free of the spell, your free Jace." Says Magnus.

Jace grinned again. " Come on guys, let's go home and celebrate. After what we've been through we deserve a break." Says Jace.

They used some healing runes and Magnus used his magic to heal themselves, stood up, and together they all walked out of the building towards the Institute leaving the lifeless body of Evan behind.
