"You're pregnant !" Jack asked .

"Yes " Katherine sigh and sat down .

"How long have you know ?"

"I found out this morning.... I was throwing up and I figured I should take a test ... It's positive .... Last one I took was a false negative ... I'm three weeks ... I found out and I don't care what you say I'm happy .... I've wanted this baby for a while .... So yell all you want but I will not get rid of it ... It's my baby and my body so if you want me to abort this then fuck off because I won't ! " Katherine said placing a hand on her belly .

"There's an actual baby in there ?" Jack asked marveled at this new information.

"Yes .... And I haven't told anyone ... Not Clara not your mother no one ... "

"When we're you planning on telling me ?" Jack asked her .

"When I thought the time was right .... I need to go lay down " Katherine said trying to get away in case Jack was going to be full of rage .

"Wait, " Jack said . He picked her up bridal style and laid her down in their bed , and then laid next to her .

Jack looked at her as she fell asleep . There was a baby in there and Jack was so conflicted.

He didn't want a baby ! Or did he ?

With the new information he had to just accept it .... What would the people think ? Sure they're would be tons of negative back lash.

Let's face it ! He's 25, she's 15. People are gonna think he raped her .... Which he didn't if she's three weeks pregnant.... Because threes weeks ago is when Medda left and they got back from New Hampshire.

Jack got up and walked to the balcony.... He just needed to clear his head .

He sat out there , a cigar burning , a glass of whiskey near him and his sketch book with some charcoals .

He drew the sunset and all ... It seemed to calm him down .

"Jack ? I hate to be a bother but could you put that cigar out ? The smoke is bad for the baby "Katherine said walking to him .

"Yeah " Jack then threw the cigar off the balcony .

"Are you ready to talk about this ? Calmly ?" Katherine asked him sitting next to him.

"Yes ..." Jack said he turned to her .

"I want to tell Medda .... Actually everyone in a big fashion .... I think a nice family party ; cousins and close friends ... No cameras no television sets .... At least until we announce it.... Well say it and have the cameras going as we do ... Then the will pan to the guests and show us smiling .... They'll cut it and we'll enjoy the party .... That's what I wanna do " Katherine said calmly .

"Sounds .... -"

"I swear so help me -"

"Great " Jack then hugged her . "I think it would be smart if we tell my mother first " Jack said .

"Can she keep a secret ?"Katherine asked

"Yes .... I can call her home for dinner tonight .... We could tell her then " Jack suggested .

"I like that , this way she can help me plan this dinner ....  How about on Friday ?" Katherine asked him . Jack nodded and they both took a deep breath .

"Katherine? What did you mean by you've wanted a baby for some time "

"After we got back from New Hampshire... I felt lonely ... I wanted someone .... Someone to take care of " Katherine said placing a hand on her stomach .

"You could have told me "

"Jack ... I wanted a baby .... Someone to love .... I need to tell you something " Katherine said .

"What ?"

"That day when Medda left I lied ... You don't have sex to relive stress ... And when we did it before you let I grabbed a pencil and stabbed the rubbers .... So I would get pregnant " Katherine sighed .

"You wanted a baby that bad ?" Jack asked her . Katherine nodded .

"You could have told me ... And I would have done it" Jack said holding her hand.

"No you wouldn't ... Don't even say you would ... You said yourself that you didn't want a baby or a relationship and I wanted a baby " Katherine said to him.

"We should probably call Medda " Jack said to her . Katherine nodded and went inside to call Medda .

"What's the occasion?" Medda asked as she took a bite of the food .

"No occasion, can't we invite our favorite mother to dinner ?" Jack asked .

"Okay .... So ... How was Iowa ?" Medda asked Jack .

"Good , we opened the new Museum.... Maybe we can go sometime " Jack said .

"Oh Medda , I'm pregnant... Could you pass the salt ?" Katherine asked .

"Sure .... WAIT ! Your pregnant?" Medda said reaching for the salt .

"Yes I found out this morning " Katherine said .

Jack stood up and walked around the table to Katherine. He put a hand on her shoulder . "A baby ?! Oh my ! Can I ?" She asked .

Katherine nodded and Medda put her hand on Katherine's stomach . "Oh lord ! There's a baby in there !" Medda's face had a few years of happiness and she also hugged Jack .

"When will you tell the country ?" Medda asked .

"We're going to throw w huge dinner family and close friends ... Then have cameras on when we say the news ... Cameras off then we go back to the dinner " Jack said .
