She ran to the phone and called Daveys number .

Jack handed Davey back the phone and sighed .... He should have invited her , dammit ! He was a fool !

He should have , but he didn't . True he needed to get to Iowa on time but he could have her come still . The plane didn't leave for an hour and she would be here in like 40!

Jack went to Iowa , did the photos and all . Signed papers , laughed with people , had a drink , smoked a cigar and after two days they were on their way back home .

Katherine was sitting in the gazebo in the garden reading a book .

Jack walked over to her with a small box in his hands .

The swing chair she was in was nice against the April breeze . Her dressed flowed around her .

"Hey " Jack said Katherine looked up and rolled her eyes .

"What , what's that for ?" Jack asked sitting on the chair across from her .

She took the box and opened it . She saw a diamond bracelet. She shut the box and handed it to him .

"You can't make me happy with jewels " she said and began to walk off .

"My mom did !" He added running to her . Katherine walked through the gardens .

"That was different! I wasn't mad at her !" Katherine yelled at him .

"Why are you mad at me ?!" Jack said .

"You should know " Katherine snapped and began to walk to their room .

She climbed the palace stairs and Jack trailed behind her . "Come on ? Is it that I said no ? Cause if it is I'm sorry " Jack said grabbing her hand to hold .

"No ! It's because you let me hang up !" She said shaking his hand off of hers .
She opened the door to their room .

"What ? What do you mean ?"

"You didn't call me back ! You let me hang up ! Like you let me go ! Dammit Jack !" She said .

"Katherine I was under the impression that you wanted to be left alone !"

"What ? Girls never want to be left alone ! They want you to fight for them !" Katherine yelled at him .

He was beyond confused and annoyed and angry .... God dam was he angry ! Why did Katherine want all these things !
