First of all before starting this chapter, I want to say a BIG FAT SORRY to everyone who is still here with me patiently waiting for me.

I know I might have annoyed you guys by disappearing without any news but to tell you guys the truth, life has become so busy that I am wondering if it was even possible to be any more busier than this but guess what it was and to tell you the truth, I was thinking about discontinuing this ff or at the least, to go on hiatus but then I thought about all those stories which I used to read and somewhere down the road they were discontinued or the author went on a break and then never turned to look back to that story. I know how it feels to have something without an end and I never want my precious readers to go through that feeling.

It has been two days since sanyu and samar came to know more about their own past and it would be an understatement if anyone said that sanyu was scared, she was scared out of her wits, she was scared of samar getting hurt by them, she could bare anything that comes on her but not with samar.

Right now she was running from the bus stop to her apartment, that was her daily routine to run and may be that's why she was becoming even more lean

As soon as she opens the door she finds samar and Dev sprawled on the sofa and when they notice her arrival, Dev stands and walks to her but stands at a considerable distance since he knows about her problem

Dev-sanyu, you know that you don't have to run all the way from your work place, since I am here

For which samar adds

Samar-BABYSITTING ME

Dev-yeah, doing that

Sanyu-I just wanted you to leave early and I didn't run all the way from H&R, I just ran from bus stand

For which Dev gives her a are-you-trying-to-fool-me look

Sanyu-ok, I might have ran from H&R to th bus stop and then from our bus stop to here

Dev lightly chuckles and then carefully places his hand on her hair, looking for any change in her expression from this slight contact but she was just giving a slight smile and he smiles as well

Dev-sanyu, pls don't stress youself, you are making me worry, you are getting leaner

Sanyu-I am fine dev

Samar-and you don't have to worry bhai, vd uncle will be here any min to take us to his house

Dev-ahh, right, sanyu if you are not comfortable with it, I always have an apartment where you can live and if you feel ok, I can come with you two

Samar-no dev bhai, we are fine, right di?

Sanyu-its fine dev, and as I have said, I don't need your apartment

Dev-yeah yeah I know, you have self-respect and taking help from me will harm that(he says with a cute pout)

Sanyu was about to say something when their doorbell rings

She turns around, since she was still standing near the door and opens it to reveal rd

Rd smiles warmly at Dev and samar and gives a nod to sanyu

Rd-hello dev

Dev-hello sir

That's when samar makes a bee line to him and hugs him for which rd chuckles and ruffles his head

Then he looks at sanyu and dev who were looking at him as if for answers

Rd-ahh, right I didn't tell you, why I am here, sorry sanyukta but mamu had some work at the registrar's office so he asked me to come pick you guys up

Sanyu just nods and dev notices the awkwardness between the two

Samar-sir, why are you standing here, come inside

Saying that samar drags him in and they all walk in

Rd-I hope, you don't mind me coming instead of vd uncle

Sanyu-that's alright

Dev-sanyu, do you need help with the boxes

He asks pointing to a few boxes which they had packed with their things to take to vd's house

Sanyu-no, its ok dev, I'll manage, I think you should go now, thanks a lot for today

Dev-heyyy, don't say that, anything for you, ok then I'll get going(he turns to rd and samar sitting on the sofa) sir, I'll take your leave now

Rd-ok Dev, go safe

Dev-yes sir, bye champ

He forwards his hands to ruffle samar's hair but samar flinches back

Samar-no no no, not my hair

Dev(hands raised showing surrender)-ok ok, chill

He leaves from there after a final good bye and the room was filled with awkwardness which rd decides to break

Rd-I'll take the boxes to the car

Samar-I'll help

They start taking the boxes one by one and so sanyu decides to join, while she was descending down the stairs with a pretty heavy box, she misses one step, she was all ready to stumble down the steps and she don't know what triggered that thought but at the moment she was thinking about the nursery rhyme "jack and jill went up the hill", it was as if she knew that she won't fall and then she remembered those words from him two nights ago

Rd-I will not let anything happen to any of you, I am here and I will always be here, you don't have to be scared of anything, they wont even be able to touch a single strand of your hair, never again, I will protect you with my life

And it was all like a movies and wh=ith all these thoughts going through her mind, she felt like she was falling in slow motion and this time as she expected there there were two arms curled around her waist and pulling her into a warm embrace and the heavy box long forgotten at the end of the steps, she just hopes that it doesn't have anything breakable

Rd looks at her amused, because she was having a faint smile on her face with which she was looking up at him

She could see the amusement in his eyes and she was trying hard to fight that smile from her face but the fact that for the first time she was right about someone coming to her aid and with him abiding to her trust, she couldn't help but smile, for the first time in her life she felt like she doesn't have to be afraid and it was because of him

She for the first time takes the liberty to look at his face, to say he was handsome would be understatement, he was more than that, if not a businessman, she was sure that he would have become an actor, his eyes, which were a normal shade of brown, looked really good, especially when they were dripping with concern and love and between those brown orbs was that long pointed nose, which she felt like pinching it, then her eye travelled lower to his lips and oh my god, that was it, they were totally kissable and she was somehow reminded of their kiss, she knew that she was sounding perverted but she cant help it, it was the first time that she was noticing him without any hesitation and damn!!! Does it feel good?

But her train of perverted thoughts were interrupted by the man in question himself

Rd-it's the first time I am watching who was about to fall down a series of steps, smiling

Suddenly she felt like her whole face would turn into ashes anytime soon, even though she doesn't have a mirrior, she knew that right now her face was as red as a tomato, she felt like someone caught her stealing.

She stands straight

Sanyu-i...i(suddenly she finds and excuse and that was the long forgotten box) oh my god...the box

She runs and picks up the box and disappears with a thumping heart, but little did she knew that rd here was stopping himself from cupping her cheeks and placing a kiss right on those plump lips which were smiling but he wouldn't make this blunder especially when there were things to be cleared between them

Rd(sighs)-things you make me feel sanyukta

He goes to grab another box

Here Natasha was walking out of her workplace and accidently bumps into someone, knocking down the brown bag and all its contents the person was holding onto the sidewalk

Natasha-I am so sorry, I was being clumsy

Saying that she bents down to pick up the things, when the owner of the bag kneels down herself

v-its totally fine, I was so busy in the phone myself

Natasha looks up to find the familiar face of the women, she had witnessed being mercilessly shooed away by karan, she looks at the lady who brings her phone to her ears and says

Avantika-baby, mommy will be there in no time, ok? mommy is just a block away

With that she cuts the call and finally looks at Natasha and in an instant she realizes who she was and a very pretty smile makes its way to her lips

Avantika-we've met before, right?

Natasha-yes, we have

She was done picking up the things which were mostly fruits and baby food, which she believes was for the kid on the phone, she hands the bag back to avantika and they both stand up

Avantika-I am sorry, but I think I didn't get your name earlier

Natasha-ahh right, its Natasha, Natasha Gill

Avantika-hi Natasha, I am Avantika

Natasha smiles, there was something about this women that made her want to know her

Avantika-so you work here

Natasha-yeah, I work here part time

They both start walking

Avantika-oh good, so what do you do, I mean apart from working here

Natasha(giving a tired sigh)-just other part time jobs, like babysitting and waitressing

Avantika-no college?

Natasha-yeah I was a medical college student bt some family issues needed my attention so I droped out

Avantika's lips form an o to indicate that she understands, they reach her car and she keeps the bag at the back seat and turns to Natasha

Avantika-where do you live

Natasha-its just two blocks away

Avantika-hop in, ill drop you

Natasha-no no, its fine, its not that far, and I believe that there is someone waiting for you

She makes a gesture with her fingers near her ear as if she was calling someone, indicating to the conversation she over heard earlier

Natasha-oh..i didn't mean to eavesdrop

Avantika(waves her hand to dismiss that thought)-nah...its fine, I was loud enough and oh that was my son, usually I leave him with a babysitter but toady she had to leave earlier and he was alone, that's why I was in a rush

Natasha-riight

Avantika-it was nice meeting you Natasha

Natasha-same here

They were about to go on their own ways when avantika calls her again

Avantika-hey, earlier you said that you babysit, right?

Natasha-yes

Avantika-can I have your number, just in case I want your help

Natasha-sure

She gives her number

Avantika-oh and don't worry, aveer is a very good kid, no trouble at all

Natasha(smiling)-Aveer, that's an adorable name

Avantika-thank you

Natasha-I'll get going then

Avantika-sure, bye

And finally they both go their own ways

Natasha felt like there were some question in avantika's mind but she wasn't asking her, but the thing that confused her was, what could she possibly ask her and then she remembers a very strong link between then "karan", that lady definitely wanted to ask about Karan and if her intuition was right, there was something more to everything that was happening around her and she felt like they were about to burst open anytime soon and she just hopes that when that time comes, she will be ready to take it all in and may be put the pieces of the puzzle into right places to create a perfect picture for everyone.
