Next day at the hospital

Sanyu was in the bed and vids was packing her bag in a rush

Vids-sanyu,I have talked to the nurse and she said that you will be discharged by noon...so I will skip the afternoon classes and pick you up ok....and don't try to go alone...or else I swear I will kill you

Sanyu(chuckling)-sure

Vids-better....love you bye

Sanyu-bye

Vids rushes to the door with a hair band in her mouth and hands busy in gathering her hair into a ponytail but she steps out of the room only to bang into someone but she never touches the ground and the person catches her by her waist, she slowly opens her eyes only to see dr.raj looking at her with concern

Raj-you fine

Vids-huh...oh yes yes(standing up straight and removing the hair band from her mouth)I am so sorry I didn't see you and I was in a rush..i am really sorry

Raj(smiling)-its ok ...just calm down...no harm is done here...so we are fine

Vids(smiling)-right

Raj-btw I am dr.raj malhotra

Vids-I know

Raj-oh you know ?

Vids-yeah..i mean yesterday rd sir was calling just your name for anything and everything and then who else it would be to come here this early in the morning

Raj(sheepishly)-right and btw introductions must be mutual I guess

Vids-oh right..i am sorry...I am vidhushi kumar

Raj-right...ok so the way you were running, I guess you have somewhere to go

Vids-oh god!....i am so sorry I need to run....see you later dr.(she runs from there)

Raj just smiles at her running form

He enters sanyu's room and smiles at her

Raj-good morning sanyukta

Sanyu-good morning dr.

Raj-so how are you feeling today(checks the clipboard hanging at the foot of the bed)

Sanyu-very refreshed and free of pain

Raj-that's a good sign (he checks her face) your bruises have lightened but you stomach injury is what I am worried about...I want you to take as much care as you can...ok...and don't skip you medicines

Sanyu-yes dr.

They hear a knock at the door and both of them look at the head peeping into the room

Raj-hey karan

Karan-good morning guys...I thought you might be still asleep(looking at sanyu)

Raj-yeah...I thought the same but looks like she is some kind of sleepless person(smiles)

Sanyu-you can say so

Karan enters the room followed by samar who hugs her

Samar-good mrng di

Sanyu-good mrng samar....

Samar-how are you

Sanyu- I am fine samar....but you here

Samar(cutting her off)-don't worry....look at my uniform...I am on my way to school

Sanyu-good

All this time her eyes were moving towards the door as if she was waiting for someone else and karan saw that

Karan-amm sanyukta ...he went to college and he said sorry for not coming to see you with us

Sanyu-oh...thats totally ok

Karan smiles at her and then turns to raj

Karan-raj..rd asked about her discharge

Raj-oh right...about that....i will sign her paper before getting off duty... and that will be around 10

Karan-right(to sanyu)sanyukta...I'll be here to pick you up, so just wait for me

Sanyu could feel disappointment creeping into her on hearing that

Sanyu-that's ok karan...vids said that she will come here by noon..i can wait for her and go with her

Karan-that will take too long sanyukta...and rd told me to complete all the formalities...so its better this way....you can tell vidhushi not to skip her classes

Sanyu-ok

Karan-come champ...lets go or else you'll be late for school

Samar-bye di(kisses her cheek) meet you at home then

Sanyu(kisses his forehead)-bye

They leave the room and sanyu was left alone with her thoughts

At H&R Industries

Karan enters his cabin and sits on his chair when an employ knocks and enters to inform him that harsh has called him to his office and the employ leaves

Karan-yaar yeh baap bete ke chakkar mein meri band bajti rehti hai

Karan knocks at harsh's office door and enters

Karan-good mrng sir

Harsh nods and signals him to have a seat

Harsh-so karan, where is rd right now

Karan-he is at college sir

Harsh-hmmm....tell me something...why is he so adamant to teach there

Karan-I think he loves doing that sir

Harsh-is that the only reason

Karan(confused)-yes

Harsh-see karan, you and rd have been friends since childhood and I am sure you know everything about him, even more than I know as his father and I am sure he had told you about this little girl problem so I would like to know it from you or else I have other ways to know...your choice

Karan-actually sir...you are right about me knowing more than what you know about him and you know that you are the reason behind it

Harsh-KARAN,MIND YOUR TONGUE

Karan-sorry harsh uncle....i wont back stab my brother even if it means having my job at stake and I don't care anymore

Harsh- I see...so you are walking on your friend's path now

Karan-and one more thing sir, don't worry about that little girl....there is nothing going on and you don't have to worry about your reputation.....your son is spoiling his happiness with his own hands....you don't have to get your hands all dirty getting rid of her.

Harsh-what do you mean

Karan-I don't think you care anymore than your reputation....(he stands from his seat)I'll take your leave now sir

He turns to look at harsh on reaching the door and speaks

Karan-and one more thing SIR, I request you to give him a time of six months atleast

Harsh-who do you think I am...mein uska dushman nahi hoon karan.

Karan just bows his head and exits the room and harsh just stares at a picture of him and a 20 year old rd smiling at the camera, both of them were standing with their hands around each other's shoulder and both were in their golfing attire

One Sunday in Delhi Golf Club

Rd was standing leaning on his golf club looking at his dads stupid attempts to win over him

Rd-cmon dad...you know you cant win

Harsh-don't forget rd..i taught you this game

Rd-oh c'mon you know that I am better than you

Harsh-lets see(and he strikes the ball which misses the hole and rolls over and rd burst out laughing)

Rd(laughing hysterically)-see I told you...history repeats itself

Harsh(pouting)-this is not fair....how can you beat me three times in a row

Rd-because I am rss

That's when karan come holding his camera clicking pictures of the scenic beauty around

Harsh(still sad)-yeah who is my son

Rd-oh c'mon dad...don't be such a baby...its just a game...come I'll give you the privilege of getting clicked with me(calling karan) oey karan...hamari ek photo le

Karan-ok

He positions his camera and clicks the picture

A knock on the door brings him back to the present,his secretary comes in

Secretary-sir, Mr.khurana is here

Harsh stands from his chair, straightens his coat and walks briskly out of the room towards the conference room followed by his secretary

FITE

Rd was back to his cabin after taking three classes in a row....he was sitting when his phone rings

Rd-haan karan bol

Karan-yaar rd I think I wont be able to go pick sanyukta up

Rd-but why

Karan-its just that I had a chat with harsh uncle and I don't think he would like me leaving this office today

Rd-you two again had an argument about me?

Karan just closes his eyes and rests his head onto the headrest of his chair giving of a sigh

Rd-why are you even trying karan...tujhe pata hai its not gonna work

Karan-becoz I've seen you both, how you two used to complete each other...take this from a person who knows that having a father is a blessing

Rd-yaar karan pls...

Karan-ok fine.. lets concentrate on the problem in hand right now...and one more thing I have dropped the key to the new apartment in your bag coz I know that she will not accept that from me.

Rd-jerk....what should I do now

The noon break arrives and rd goes to the canteen to find vids

He enters the canteen and looks for vids...he spots parth sitting with dev and jiggy...parth was lauging at something dev said when he spots rd and calls out to him

Parth-rd sir

He gets up from his seat and comes near him

Parth-good afternoon sir

Rd(smiling)-good afternoon parth

Parth-sir...would you like to join us if you haven't eaten yet

Rd-no parth its...I just came to meet vidhushi..where is she

Parth-oh...she is with kaustuki at the lab....they are completing some reports I think

Rd-oh, right...

Parth-anything important sir

Rd-no, just wanted to know if she was going to the hospital

Parth-actually she was earlier...but then sanyu called and said that karan sir will pick her up

Rd-right, so what are you guys doing after lunch

Parth-actually sir we were thinking of helping dev to catch up

Rd-right...ok then go have your lunch

Parth-sure sir...but pls sir if I can do anything for you, pls let me know

Rd(smiling)-sure

Rd goes out of the canteen and parth comes and takes his place next to dev

Dev-kya hua...aae nahi tere rd sir....i told you...bolne mein aur karne mein bohot fark hota hai...a teacher can never be a casual friend

Parth-its not like that...he eats with us mostly...but today he looked like he was in a kinda rush

Dev-whatever

Here in the hospital sanyu was now all dressed up and sitting on the hospital bed with her packed bag next to her, waiting for karan

That's when someone knocks at the door and she stands up ready to take her bag...but her hands fall from the bag when suhasini mehta enters with her lawyer, sanyu goes stiff and looks at them wide eyed

Suhasini-hello sanyukta beta

She comes back to her senses and looks at her expressionless

Suhasini comes close to her and examines her face closely

Suhasini-I see....rajeev ki purani adat gayi nahi...but it looks like he behaves like this only with you

Sanyu(tired)-what do you want

Suhasini turns to her lawyer and he gives her a paper which she forwards to sanyu along with a pen

Suhasini-I want you to sign this

Sanyu(mockingly)-you've always been a fan of getting my sign on papers

Suhasini(angryly)-mind you tongue.... And sign this

Sanyu takes the paper from her hand and reads it

Sanyu-what is this

Suhasini-you are taking your case back and these are the paper stating that...now sign

Sanyu-and what made you think that I will sign this

Suhasini(smiling evily)-you know I never thought that you will sign this with just one try...but you see I know how to make you sign(she holds onto sanyu's jaw which was hurting her already bruised face even more and made her eyes water)so tell me do you want to do it the easy way or the hard way

The reply to her question come from behind them from the door

v-you can try any way you want....but it wont happen...and I recommend you to take your hands off

they all turn to see rd standing at the door....looking really pissed

suhasini-and who are you to interfere

rd-that's none of your business(saying this he moves to sanyu who was now sitting on the bed wiping her eyes)you ok(sanyu nods)(to suhasini)noone is going to take the case back...so I think that instead of wasting your time here.....help you son out by getting a better lawyer

suhasini grits her teeth and looks and sanyu who was now half hiding behind rd

suhasini-don't you think that its over

rd-pls leave, otherwise I will be forced to call security

suhasini-and you(looking at rd)you did that to my son,right.....stay safe child(pats his shoulder evily)

they leave the room and as soon as rd turns to face sanyu she instantly hugs him and he was taken aback from her sudden reaction and was standing with his hands in the air but when he feels her crying he slowly brings his hands to hug her and draws small circles and tries to calm her down

rd-shhh...its ok sanyukta...they are gone...shh...its fine...don't cry

when her cries stops she realizes what she was doing and moves back in a instant only to flinch when she hits her leg into the foot of the bed

rd-sanyukta you ok(he was about to check her foot when she moves to take her bag and rd feels her awkwardness)its not time to go yet..i have some paper work to do....may i(he forwards his hand to take the bag from her and she gives it to him still not able to look at him she looks at the floor and nods)

they move to the reception and rd makes sanyu sit and places the bag next to her but to her surprise instead of going to the reception he sits next to her leaving a chair's space between them

rd-I know you will not like what I am about to say....but trust me it is for your and samar's wellbeing I don't know what the problem between you and rajeev is and I understand that you don't want to tell me but as much as I know...I want to make sure your safety and this is the best that I could think of(saying so he places a bunch of keys onto the chair between them)these are the keys to your new apartment(she was about to say something when rd cuts her off)I know you don't take favours from others but just think sanyu I mean sanyukta...he was there the last time...which means he knows where you live and I wont be able to sleep knowing that both you and samar are constantly in danger there...don't give me an answer right now....i want you to think and when I come back after completing the paper work...If I see the keys still here...I'll know that you don't accept this....if I don't see them then I know where to drop you safe and secure(he gets up but again turns)and yes I've talked about this to samar too and he has agreed .

he walks off towards the reception desk and sanyu stares at the keys next to her and then stares at rd who was talking to the receptionist with his back facing sanyu

H&R Industries

Harsh was back in his cabin where the same guard who was assigned to follow rd was waiting for him

Harsh-yes

Guard(placing a file on his desk)-sir... here is the information you asked about that girl...her name is sanyukta aggarwal

Harsh-hmmm.....what is rd doing today

Guard-sir today a house was registered on rd sir's name....and now he is in the hospital with this girl

Harsh-hmmm....you may leave now

The guard bows his head and leaves

Harsh(to himself)-all these years I asked you to buy a house for yourself and now suddenly got a house for yourself....what are you up to now rd

In a hotel room

Suhasini was fuming when a man enters clad in a suit

Suhasini-that bloody girl is now talking back to me....and who was that guy....sharma ji(man clad in a black suit)

Sharma ji-yes mam

Suhasini-find out who that man was

Sharma ji-yes mam

He walks out of the room

At the hospital

It took rd around half an hour to complete all the formalities and he approaches sanyu who was sitting there looking at a couple...the wife was pregnant and her husband was holding her hand and helping her to walk outside....she was looking at them and smiling and rd notices that...he comes near her and looks at the chair where he had kept the key and a small smile finds its way towards his lips when he sees that it was no longer on the chair but was in her hands...he lifts the bag slowly

Rd-chale sanyukta?

Sanyu looks at rd who was looking at her

Sanyu-huh....yes sir

She stands and they start walking towards the car park....on reaching the parking lot rd keeps her bag in the back seat and helps her to hop onto his passenger seat and then he himself hops into the drivers'seat...he was putting on his seat belt and asks sanyu to do the same.....he looks at her struggling with the belt...at first he waits for her to finish, out of embarressment she pulls at the belt so hard that her stomach hurt and she flinches in pain and holds onto her stomach bents a bit

Rd-sanyukta...(he cups her cheeks in his both hands and lifts her face to look at him, he sees a tear drop roll down her cheeks and he wipes the tear with his thumb and keeps caressing her cheek)you fine

She nods her head still in his hands....he retreats his hand and helps her to put on the seat belt and starts the car and drives off....the drive was silent but sanyu decides to break it

Sanyu-thank you sir....for helping me and samar

Rd-its ok sanyukta you don't have to thank me....actually I must thank you for accepting this house..otherwise I wouldn't be able to sleep peacefully

Sanyu-actually sir....i want you to give me this house for rent sir

Rd-what! But sanyukta how can i

Sanyu-pls sir....i want to do atleast this for myself sir...you have been doing a lot for me lately and I am thankful for all that but for satisfying me and my little ego that is left....i want you to accept a small amount of money, pls sir don't refuse this

Rd listens to her and then nods his head with a sigh...there you go we've reached....rd helps her out of the car and sanyu gives the keys that she was holding in her hand to rd and he opens the door and both of them enter the house...and sanyu looks at the fully furnished house that was welcoming her with warmth just like the person standing next to her does everytime she would be in dire need of it...she turns her head to look at him who was inspecting everything keenly....
