I stare into the mirror, yet what I see, fails to show me. It's shorter, younger, and happier. Happier than I'll ever be. Placing my fingertips to the mirror, it reaches a smaller, softer looking hand to mine. Fingertips touch, and her hands are so soft. She pulls back, and I can see her hand shivering. Her hand was so warm compared to mine, I must have chilled myself. Her bright eyes stare into mine, and I could tell she was confused with me.

"What is it?"

     I snapped. She jumped back.

"I-I U-Uh! Y-your eyes! They look.. D-dark... And y-you were so cold... Y-you okay?"

     I nodded simply, void of emotion.

"I'm fine."

     She seemed to waver, and forget thoughts of her questions.

"Good! Wanna be friends?"

     I shook my head.

"Uhh... No."

     She pouted.

"Why not?"

     I glared.

"Because you'll just hate me in the end."

     She smiled.

"No I won't! Be my friend! You'll see!"

     I shrugged.

"Fine."

     She smiled.

"Okay! So today, I went to my very first day of Kinnergarden! I met this one girl, and she was suuuper nice!! I also met this other girl... Who was not-so-nice. She kept telling me how her daddy was a cop and she would get me arrested! That was mean!"

     Memories flashed in my eyes as I stared down at the girl. I knew those two. Back when I was in kindergarten myself. The first one was my best friend. The second one was basically my bully. This was my childhood.

"Yeah. That's not too nice, is it?"

     The little girl shook her head.

"No, it isn't! But anyways, miss, I gotta go! Mommy's calling me for dinner!"

     Before I could say a word, the girl had faded to nothing...

...And my reflection appeared. It stared me in the eyes as I stared back. My eyes looked so hollow. So dark...

...Compared to her bright ones of the same color... I was faded...
