Alya couldn't believe it.

Alya had recorded the entirety of the newest akuma attack on her cellphone and was about to go home when she saw Ladybug hiding in an alleyway, five dots on her earrings meaning that she was going to detransform in a matter of minutes. And Ladybug didn't know that Alya was watching her and didn't hear Alya's squeals of joy.

This was it !! This was perfect !! This was the moment she'd been waiting for ever since the very first akuma attack. The one that will have her journalist's career skyrocketing !!

A scoop on Ladybug's secret identity !!

Ladybug's earrings beeped four times.

Four minutes.

Alya whipped out her cellphone and started recording.

" Young lady could you help me find my missing pocketwatch ? It's very valuable to me ... " Alya turned around to see an old Chinese man behind her.

" Uh ... " Alya looked from him to Ladybug to him again then back to Ladybug. 

The man smiled knowingly at her as if to say that she should go get her scoop.

Ladybug's earrings beeped three times.

Three minutes.

" I ... "

This could be your chance to finally figure out Ladybug's identity !! There might not be another opportunity like this ever again ...

Her logic brain said in her head.

But this man needs help. You can't just leave him ...

Said her conscious

Ugh what should she choose ?!

Follow her head and get the scoop ? Or follow her heart and help the old man ?

Ladybug's earrings beeped two times.

Two minutes.

A good reporter always follows their head ...

" I'll help you sir " Alya had turned her phone off and put it away in her pocket and smiled at him

The man nodded and they left to find his pocketwatch

But a good person follows their heart ...

Two hours later Alya was at Marinette's place telling her about what happened

" But you were so close to figuring it out, Alya, why'd you give the chance up ? " Marinette asked confused

" Well I dunno ... The man really cared
about that pocketwatch, must've been an antique from his younger years ? "

When Alya returned home she rummaged in her schoolbag for her physics homework and found a strange little box

" Huh ? How'd that get in there ? "

Alya asked, examining the wooden box, her journalistic mind whirling. It looked old ... No ... Ancient ...

Hesitantly Alya opened up the box and all of a sudden there was a bright orange light and Alya shielded her eyes from the light and then when she uncovered her eyes, the light had started to dim and saw the strangest thing in her life ...

It seemed to resemble a fox and it looked like it could fit in the palm of her hand. Yawning, the ... creature opened its eyes revealing deep brown orbs that stared into her very soul.

Few seconds later the being gave her a grin and waved then did the unthinkable.

" Hi !! I'm Saavi !! I'm a kwami and you're gonna be the new holder of the Fox Miraculous !! "

It talked.

Alya stood there speechless, jaw dropped and eyes widened.

Then Alya did what every normal girl would do.

She fainted.
