It has now been two years since I officially finished all my books and left Wattpad. Although I guess that's technically not true anymore, since I updated one of my books in 2021. But we'll get to that.
It's time for the yearly radish update!
First, let's start with where we left off after my update last year. In March of 2021, we released the music video that I mentioned last update. I directed and edited the video, and I'm pretty proud of it.
If you want to watch it, I posted the link in an announcement on my profile sometime in March 2021. Or, just search "oh okay ely ja" on YouTube and it'll show up. If you watch it, let me know what you think!
In April 2021, I graduated from college down in Florida. My graduation was online (☹️) but my family came down for it and we went to Disney World and stuff so it was cool. I didn't move out from my apartment in Florida immediately after graduation; I stayed down there until my lease ended in August.
But back to the spring. Since I was done with school and didn't have a job (what a loser), I needed something to do for the four-ish months that I was still in Florida. I suddenly had a great idea, and my two best friends liked it too and agreed to help me with it.
I hosted another kik comp.
Well, it was actually on Discord, since kik is dead. But it was called "The Radish Reunion Comp" and I invited back every single competitor from the past Radish comps (as well as a few from other comps). Not all of them replied, but a good amount did.
It had been almost five years since the first Kik comp, and about three and a half years since the last one ended, so I felt it was appropriate to host a reunion. Thomas and Rebel cohosted with me, and we honestly had a blast.
If you want to see how the reunion comp went, check out my book "Radish's Kik Comps" and scroll down to the seventh season. This is the book I updated that I was talking about in the first paragraph.
Anyway, the final comp took up a lot of my time down in Florida. Besides hosting, the only other thing I did down there was work on several different sets with friends and other people I knew down there. I worked on a couple commercials, some short films, and a web series.
The short film I'm most proud of is the one I wrote, directed, and edited. It's called "Delivery", and you can watch it on YouTube if you're interested. I sent the link in an announcement on my profile sometime in June or July 2021, or you can search "Delivery Head Maze Pictures" and it'll show up. If you watch it, let me know what you think!
In July, I went on vacation to visit Thomas and Rebel for a few days. This was my first time meeting Thomas in person, even though we've been best friends online for like seven years. It was my third time meeting Rebel in person, but the first time we hung out for more than like an hour.
We had a lot of fun. Thomas and I stayed at Rebel's house and slept on her couches. We played Minecraft, hosted the finale of the reunion comp, went to the beach and the zoo, played mini-golf, and did a couple escape rooms in the few days we were there.
Then Thomas drove me back to the airport and I flew to my hometown in Maryland. The next day I went on another vacation with some of my irl friends at the beach for a week. When that was over, I went to a Jimmy Buffet concert the next day with another friend. That was pretty cool.
Then I flew back down to my apartment in Florida and prepared to move out since my lease was ending. I moved back to my hometown, and I had no idea what I was going to do.
I started out by going back to working as a pizza delivery driver at my local pizza place. I'm still currently working there, and I actually got a promotion there recently to team lead. Not that that matters, lol.
I also eventually got a video-related job, which is good since it's kinda what I want to do in life. I work for the public school system in my hometown on the video crew. So basically whenever the schools need videos for their events or for educational purposes, I make them. It's a pretty chill job.
I've been back in my hometown for a little more than six months now, living with my parents and brother. Pretty much all I do every day is work at one or both of my jobs. I don't have any friends that live here anymore, so I don't really have anything TO do besides work anyway. But it's cool cuz I'm making money.
The plan is to move out this summer. Not sure where I'm going, but a friend and I are gonna move in together and try to get jobs in the film/video industry. I'll let you guys know how that goes in next year's Radish update.
Oh also, in the summer after the reunion comp ended, I bought a Minecraft realm for the people of the comp to hang out in a survival world. We called it the RadishSMP.
Rebel decided to start streaming, and since I have editing experience I became her editor. She streamed on the RadishSMP, most of the time with me, Thomas, or my brother Tommy. Then I edited her streams into shorter highlight reels to upload to YouTube.
If you want to follow her on Twitch, her channel is called Absadoodle. That's also her YouTube channel where you can find all the highlight reels I edited, as well as her full archived streams.
We finished season 1 of the RadishSMP in January, and we're planning on starting a new world for season 2 sometime in March. Rebel will probably be uploading videos of season 2 on her YouTube channel, and Thomas might be streaming season 2 on Twitch on his channel (he hasn't made it yet, I'll send the link to it in a profile announcement when he does), so make sure to check them out!
All this streaming has made me want to start streaming too, but I don't currently have the time or equipment. I'm probably planning on buying the equipment when I move out this summer, so I may start streaming/uploading to YouTube then. I'd probably mostly stream Minecraft, but I'd be down to play other games too. If I do start streaming, I'll let you guys know so you can watch me :D
I've also still been watching movies as often as I can, same as last year. I recently hit 300 movies since the pandemic started in 2020, so that's pretty cool. If you want to check out my movie reviews on Instagram, follow my account @toddsmoviereviews.
Besides editing these YouTube videos, playing Minecraft, watching movies, and working my two jobs, I haven't really been doing much else with my life. But ya know, I'm pretty happy with where I am currently.
Oh, I turned 21 a couple months ago. So I can legally drink alcohol now. But I haven't drank very much because I've been busy and I also don't really like the taste of it lmao.
It feels weird that I first started this book when I was 14 years old, and now I can legally drink. Seven whole years of being on Wattpad. That's crazy.
I guess I don't have anything else to update about. I hope you guys have been doing well, whether you're a new or old reader.
Remember to follow me on Instagram @tamcd3 to see more current updates on what I'm doing in life.
That's all I have. See ya next year!
