7 years later (3rd person P.O.V)
1888, the year that would trigger a long chain of events causing the Joestar's lives to be changed forever. Many bizarre and explainable things would happen that they'd have to fight. Currently though, everyone was living out their peaceful lives, unaware of what was yet to come.
"He got it! The hero of Hugh Hudson Academy, Jonathan Joestar took the ball!" Jonathan sprinted down the rugby field, dodging players left to right. The announcer continued to talk about him in excitement. "Normally he is a quiet man! But the 195 cm (6.3 ft) tall Jonathan Joestar screams as he charges for the goal! The last game before graduation! Will he crown it with a victory!?"
From the crowd a young lady gleamed with joy as she watched her dearest friend play his heart out. She had just arrived in town and as soon as she heard about the match today she rushed down to surprise him.
"Oh! They got him! A player from the other school tackled Jojo!" One later turned into three people trying to slow down the peaceful giant, but they're efforts were in waste. "What power! Good god he's like a train!" Another jock tackled Jonathan causing his body to shake at the weight that was piled on top of him. As Jonathan keeled over he made a pass.
"The pass is through! The runner is..." The announcer paused looking for who the pass was going to. "Dio! Our Dio Brando!"
Dio hunched down, easily dodging his attackers as he passed. "What magnificent running! Will he get through!?"
Dio didn't waver and kept up his speed as he raced down the field. "He's through! A solo run! Magnificent! A magnificent runner as always!" The announcer complimented. Then Dio gracefully reached the end line. "A try!" (Rugby term for touchdown.) The team along with the crowd went wild at Dio's success. "He did it! They won the last game!"
The girl watched along in amazement, this was the first rugby game she ever witnessed and it was sure a fleet to see. She waited till the team separated a bit to approach the winning lads who were, to her surprise, unexpectedly getting along.
"Wow you guys have gotten well...uh...bigger." The girl greeted them once she stood in front of the two, taking in their now massive height differences compared to her.
The two looked at the girl befuddled for a moment, before realizing who she was. "(YN!)" Jonathan exclaimed in glee to his childhood friend, picking her up in a hug to which the girl laughed at. "That was some game, I never knew you guys could work so well together." She commented as Jonathan set her back down on the grass.
"I believe you've shrunk (YN)." Dio stated as he put a hand on top of the girl's head.
"Oi! I have not I've actually grown an inch or two. You guys are just abnormally large!" (YN) defended herself. The two lads laughed at her response, making the girl freeze in her tracks. She wasn't use to seeing the site of them getting along, nonetheless being in the company of both of them at the same time. 'Something major must have changed between those two while I was away.' She thought to herself.
"Dio a word please!" One of their school's reporters called out to the blonde.
Dio turned to talk to Jonathan before leaving to talk to the reporter. "We have to announce our victory to father immediately. Jojo and (YN), wait for me after changing so we can all go home together."
"Okay." Jonathan and you replied simultaneously.
After he was a little ways from the two the girl spoke up. "Since when did you two start actually acting like brothers?"
"Haha guess we just had a couple bonding moments and grew up during the past seven years." Jonathan answered, but the look on his face afterwards told the girl otherwise, there was still some unresolved problems between the two.
"Our friendship?! You make me blush." They overheard Dio talking to the reporter.
"I don't know why but hearing him say that makes me really uncomfortable." The girl said.
Jonathan nervously laughed. "Yeah...wait here for a moment so Dio and I can change. We have a carriage that will take us home." Jonathan stated about to go to the changing room before adding, "it's great to have you back (YN)."
The girl smiled as she saw Jonathan and Dio walking off together, but something inside her made the her feel very uneasy about the two of them.
(back to regular P.O.V)
"It's been ages since I've last heard from you what have you been up to?" Jonathan questioned you as you guys rode to the Joestar mansion. You were currently sat next to Jonathan and had Dio facing you, though they seemed to be on good terms now you were still cautious about being too friendly with Dio while Jonathan was around.
"Jojo we write to each other pretty much everyday, I'm sure you know everything that's happened." You laughed.
"Yeah but it's not the same as talking to you in person. Why didn't you mention that you were coming in the previous letter?"
"I wanted to surprise you, plus my father wasn't sure we'd be able to make it with how much work he's been having." You replied. The reason why you didn't visit the Joestars for the past seven years was because your father got promoted at his job and became very busy, you would often have to travel with him to London and various other places due to his job.
"Do still sneak food at midnight?" Dio remarked letting out a small smile.
"You bet I do, it's one of the only hobbies I have." You joked.
Jonathan tilted his head a bit confused at the conversation. "Wait Dio how do you know about (YN) stealing food?" Your eyes widened as your realized that Dio and you had snuck around back then and you were sure Jonathan would get angry if he knew you two hung out back then. "Ah he heard from my mother since she's always complaining about me. Oh would you look at that we're here already." You sweat dropped, thankful that the ride was at the end.
Jonathan exited the carriage first, Dio following, and then you. Dio held out his hand for you to hold onto as you stepped down from the carriage. He leaned towards you as you stepped down. "Nice save there love." He then let go of your hand and walked into the mansion.
You stood there, heat radiating from your cheeks. "Hey (YN) come on we have to go talk to father!" Jonathan called out to you from the front door of the mansion putting you out of your daze, you went in after him.
The reason your father decided to visit the Joestar manor now was because he had heard about how sick Mr. Joestar had gotten. You had thought that it'd had been a minor illness, but as you stood next to Jonathan and Dio you realized that wasn't the case.
"Father, how do you feel?" Dio asked.
"I am fine, but this cough won't stop." Mr. Joestar paused. "The doctor wanted to hospitalize me today."
"Hospitalize? You better not!" Dio marked. When you heard Dio's response you gave him a weird look. 'Surely it would be better if he'd be hospitalized, the doctors there would probably help out a bunch.' You didn't realize that Jonathan had also looked at Dio in a weird way as well.
"The facilities at hospitals are no good he just wants you hospitalized for the profits!" Dio added on. 'Well that's one way to view it.'
"I declined, I feel more at ease in my own house. My chest pain is easing up and the swelling of my hands seem to have stopped." Mr. Joestar stated.
"Father please get well!" Jonathan spoke up. "Yeah I feel as though my father wouldn't know what to do business wise if you weren't well enough to continue giving him advice." You added on to the conversation.
Mr. Joestar lightly laughed. "Haha very true, it's great to see you (YN) you certainly have grown into a fine lady, won't be too long until you have the marriage proposals coming in."
"Oh I already do sir." You awkwardly stated. "I've just declined them all...haha." Mr. Joestar smiled at this. "Well I can only hope that if either of my boys ask you'll say yes." You went bright red at this statement not having much time to react. "By the way Dio, Jojo, congratulations on your victory."
"Huh? How did you know already?" Jonathan questioned. "A friend at the university came by to tell me." Mr. Joestar smiled.
"That's an awful friend you have there. We came straight home to see your pleased face when you heard it from us." Dio stated.
"I'm lucky to have such wonderful sons as you two. Dio you have worked hard, do as you please after you graduate, I won't stop helping you, you're my family." Mr Joestar announced.
"Thank you for providing a poor graduate like me with a chance. I feel all the more stimulated." Shivers went down your spine as you heard Dio's reply. You had a feeling there was a hidden meaning behind what Dio had said.
One of the butlers came in giving Mr. Joestar tea, the three of you left to give Mr. Joestar some space.
For once the atmosphere of the Joestar mansion was gloomy and eerie, and you didn't like that one bit.
