Me: Boys are so stupid!

God: Here we go again...

Me: Last week, some were sitting close behind me and started messing with my hair and drawing inappropriate things in the fur of my coat. A few days ago, some of them threw butter all over my best friend, ruining her clothes. And right now, they are sucking on candy canes in an intended inappropriate way and are discussing female bodies and porn. They speak fluent sin!

God: Turn your Jesus filter on.

Me: My what?

God: Your Jesus filter. Abby, there is no avoiding these sins. They have always been out there and always will be. You're going to see and hear those types of things take place every single day of your life, but that's all it has to be. Don't let it get any farther than your eyes and ears.

Me: And how do I do that exactly?

God: Install a spiritual filter, blocking sin from getting to your system, to your brain and heart. If you let it the sin run any farther, you'll find it in your own thoughts and soon in your bones. You will be a part of the world. You are in the world, Abby, but never allow yourself to be a part of it.

Me: Oh okay. In not of.

God: Exactly! Good luck!

Me: I'll definitely need it.
