Afraid
(italicized lines mean thoughts)

Me: Time to get up and show the world what I've got today!
Me: That's not very much.
Me: Yeah. You're right. Maybe I should just stay in bed all day. My stuffed animals will keep me company.
Me: I'm going to have to agree with you there. You should stay right in that little nest you've made in your bed where you're safe. If you go out into the world people will judge you, hurt you, steal from you, and just beat you down! Getting out of bed would so not be worth it all.
God: WOAH! Who's driving this train?
Me: You scared me, God! And, uhm, what train?
God: This big train of thoughts you've got rolling around! Who's driving that thing?
Me: Me, I guess. They're MY thoughts.
God: Are they really yours? You were so eager to get up and go into the world shining bright, but then something came in and dimmed that light, reversed the tracks.
Me: Oh...
God: I think I know what it was.
Me: What?
God: Fear. You're afraid.
Me: Afraid of what? I'm a big girl, remember? I don't get scared!
God: No, Abby. You're afraid... Afraid of growing.
Me: Growing? Heh, I've been 5'1" for the past three years of my life. I'm done growing.
God: Spiritually, Abby. Spiritually.
Me: Riiiiiiiiiight.
God: It takes time to grow, but you can't spend that time locked up alone in your dark bedroom.
Me: Darn.
God: You need light and water and healthy soil, and I don't see any of that in here! ... Well, to be honest I don't see much of anything in this mess. Oh, why did I not give you the gift of organization?!
Me: It IS organized.
God: If you say so! ...Well, what are you waiting for? Let's go! Get out of bed and show the world what you've got! Come on you can do it! One foot at a time!
Me: You don't have to baby me... AHH! Cold floor! Cold floor!
God: There ya go! Just a little farther!
Me: Is that the sun? Ahh, it's so bright today!
God: No, my darling. That's the Son.
