MUSIC & MAGNOLIA
I've been listening to way too much music with heartfelt words in them.
But then again, is there something called too much?
Anyways, I hope anybody reading this wouldn't mind if I talked about my OC, Magnolia for a bit. Also, please listen to the song above if you choose to.
So, I've realized that I forgot to include some sort of story to show her personality and I've decided to write that now. Please do not judge me if it isn't really good, note that I wrote this in approximately fifteen minutes. First person story!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I went to school, as usual, and I attended classes, as usual. When we were dismissed to lunch (not that we would actually eat what they serve us), something happened.
I knew that there was a clique of girls who always hung out around the northeast portion of the cafeteria. They always insulted people that came by their way, like lions who waited for prey to come by, striking when they had the chance to. I don't know why they would even do such things, point out imperfections that we all knew we had, then act like they have none.
Most people were smart and attentive enough to stay away from the group, but every day, somebody who didn't pay attention at the wrong time stumbled into the group's grasp. More prey.
I don't know what their objective was, what they planned to gain from it: self confidence, perhaps. Or maybe they just pick on people to see their reactions, which is simply cold.
Today, I was building a paper airplane with my friend- one of the few I had. We tried flying the plane many times, but we both knew that it would never soar more than three feet.
A soft gust of wind entered the room from a slightly opened window about four feet away from us, just as my friend threw the plane.
What a coincidence.
It floated over the table that we were sitting on and over the next two tables. The girls picked up the piece of paper and inspected it.
"Please, hope that I won't humiliate myself," I whispered softly to my friend before taking short strides. I reached the girls in twelve seconds and was about to open my mouth and speak before one of them said, "Oh hey, it's that girl who never speaks! In fact, I don't even know if she knows English."
They laughed as a whole and started spewing out more insults. I wasn't hurt by these words, because they were pointing out imperfections that I already knew I had.
"I'm sorry, I would rather not make a big fuss about it, can you please give me my paper plane back," I asked quietly.
"Oh, so she can speak after all. Makes sense, they wouldn't accept you into such a prestigious school if you couldn't speak English", another one sneered.
I made a quick lunge for the airplane, successfully grabbing it before any of the girls had a chance to stop me.
"And one more thing. I want you to think about what you're trying to accomplish by picking on people. Can you give me an answer by tomorrow," I asked, just loud enough for the girls to hear me. Then, I turned around and walked away.
One more thing that I would regret, one more problem that I probably would never resolve.
So, how was that? I hope it gave you a better idea about who Magnolia is and what she thinks about. Once again, if it sucks, remember that I wrote this in about 15-20 minutes. And by the way, Magnolia has a freakish ability to calculate distance and time extremely quickly, topped with a photographic memory for numbers. A reason why she was accepted into this school that she attends. Anyways, what kind of "prestigious" school does she attend? ♡
