So Simple - Chap. 1
Lizzie's POV
Elizabeth and her best friend, Isabelle, were sitting in their usual spots, talking to their teachers. The teen class was very small, there currently only being two teens, but they had gotten used to it. They still had fun and it was a comfortable atmosphere, where they could just laugh for a while and talk about their week. It was an hour with each other at teen class that they both desperately needed, since it was one of the few moments in the week were they got to see each other. They texted often, almost constantly, but it's obviously not the same.
But the room became quiet as the door opened behind them.
Though they assumed that it was the church's pastor or his wife, they were quickly corrected.
There, in the middle of the doorway, was a someone that had not met before-- someone their age, no less. The figure was tall and slim, his bright blonde hair slicked back. His gaze flickered across all of them for a brief moment, his eyes resembling that of winter itself. He sat down wordlessly on the second row, the second to last chair on the left.
At the time, neither of them had any idea how much this one boy would change their lives.
After a brief introduction, they now knew that his name was Andrew. The mood in the room had changed, but not necessarily for the worst, it was just different. They couldn't just continue about their conversation, they knew that they had to include him. Which was an easy task since the girls were both very friendly and welcoming people. They were raised to be. But unlike Isabelle, wether Lizzie wanted to or not, she didn't have a choice in the matter. Andrew was more talkative than either of them had expected, which they enjoyed. He was clearly a jokester, witty comments and all. It was a nice surprise.
By the time teen class had ended and Andrew had left just a few minutes after, the girls finally had a moment to tell each other what they thought about him. They agreed that it was nice having a boy in the room, to help balance out the 3 > 1, girls verse boys ratio. And since he was so charismatic, they both hoped that he would keep returning. Which, to their excitement, he did. He came for a couple more weeks by himself and they had gotten to know him better. But his very first trick-- against all the future ones that he would pull over the next 8 months-- was when he arrived with someone else for the first time.
His name was James, apparently. He was much shorter than is older brother, by about 4 or 5 inches, and looked almost nothing like him. His brown hair and hazelnut eyes, that were peering through a pair of lenses, made a stark contrast against the blonde and blue. Even though the didn't look much alike, it quickly became clear that they were very similar, yet, like all siblings, also very different. Andrew was confident, witty, cocky, and a bit of a jerk. While, James was not as confident or a jerk, but still had the same wit and similar sense of humor.
Unknowingly, Elizabeth was giving much more of her attention to Andrew than James. His charisma and charm, while unlike anyone she had met before, was somehow interesting to her. She never figured that she would ever enjoy the presence of someone so cocky and somewhat rude, yet there she was. His charm was entrancing. How could he pull off such a high level of charm at only 13? Trouble, he was...
And she was right.
When her church's Thanksgiving party came around, the brothers showed up. But she didn't want to talk to him for some reason, so she did one of three things: sit and draw at her and Isabelle's table in the corner like a nerd, stand in the corner with a red solo cup like a nerd, or pace around the church in circles...like a nerd. How both cruel and ironic that she didn't want to socialize on the day of a Thanksgiving party. What is this madness? Suddenly, a little girl with bright blonde, curly hair and a dress came bolting down the hallway in which Lizzie was walking, followed by none other than Andrew, effectively interrupting Lizzie's doodling of hearts on her hands. Another one of his little sisters apparently. The youngest of the 11 siblings that he had. She laughed as watched him scoop her up in his arms and laughing with her. She the thought about what a great father he'd be...
"Oh...oh no."
Hahahaha, I hope you like the first chapter of this new book. This is actually heavily inspired by a true story, which is pretty neat. This will be unlike any other book I've ever done for many reasons. And actually, this is sort of a collab? Because this story is inspired by true events and it revolves around two best friends falling in love with a pair of brothers, Isabelle's chapters are all written by the person who went through Isabelle's experiences. (My BFF) Anyway, I hope you like it! And please come back and read it more, because trust me, it gets crazy reaaaaally quick. Tell me what you think!
