Lukas' POV

As soon as Jess lit the Portal, a gust of wind washes over us suddenly. The Portal's frame is all chiseled quarts, with the portal itself being lime green. We all just starred blankly at it, realizing just how long it's been since we've been in the portal hallway. I think it was the spleef arena? On the bright side, it'd be nice to see Otto again, even though I wish that it could have been under better circumstances. I wonder how much he's changed the place? No one was saying or doing anything so I started to slowly walk into the portal and a familiar fuzzy feeling and wave of nausea hit me but it only lasted a split second. When I arrived on the other side of the portal, it was just like it was four years ago. Oddly enough, I have conflicting emotions about this place. On one hand, we've had so many amazing memories and adventures here but on the other hand, it was pretty miserable trying to find our way back home for...I don't even remember how long it was. I turned around to see if anyone else had walked through and Jesse was standing in her dress, awestruck at the sight of the place. We didn't say a word before the others came through the portal. Petra simply smirked with her hands on her hips while Nell was just smiling. The robbers and Jess starred in astonishment at the new and odd sight of the portal hallway. I always do forget that Jess has never seen the portal hallway.
Petra: "Heh, this place hasn't changed a bit..." She said still smirking.
Jesse: " Yeah...It's exactly how we left it...four years ago..."

They were right. I guess we all just thought that it would have change. We had no reason to really, I suppose that after four years we would we would have thought that it had changed, just like everything else in our lives. But no, it was just as silent and empty as before. It was so tempting to visit Skycity (well they probably changed the name now) or Crown Masa and sit down with Ivor and Harper for an afternoon and just talk instead of battling a bunch of robbers over a spleef game. I started walking down the hallway, glancing left and right, looking for the portal. Lights of every color shone from the dozens of portals that lined the walls. It amazes that just different frames and colors have made so many unique looking portals. I almost missed it but, to my left was the stairway to the Spleef arena. It was still open. This place really hasn't changed...
I began to feel uneasy as I looked at it, causing me to hesitate. I was only there for a moment, still starring the stairway, before I felt someone gently grab my hand. I turned my head to see Jesse, my beautiful fiancé. She gave me a worried smile that clearly showed her concern.

Jesse:" Lukas? Are you okay?" She said in a worried yet sweet tone.

"What? N-no...I'm fine" I tried to hide it but I miserably failed.

Jesse:" Lukas, we've been dating for the past four years. I know when something's on your mind. Won't you tell me?..."
There wasn't any use hiding it from her, so I expressed my concerns-
"I'm worried. I mean, what if we made the wrong choice? If we lose then everything will be lost." Jesse:"Lukas, we've done this kinda thing before. Battling villains that meant if we lost then it'd have disastrous consequences, so why is this time any different?" I was a bit shocked by Jesse's response. So I corrected her saying:

"This time is different, Jesse. All those other times we weren't the ones to cause the situation. We weren't the ones who would have to claim responsibility of the disaster at hand. But this time if we mess up then we will be the ones to claim responsibility. We were the ones who struck the deal that will determine the fate of every world there is, including Beacontown...If we lose...it'll be all our fault..." I shot back, frustrated.

Jesse looked stunned and she was incredibly silent. She was taking in my words and she finally understood what I meant. And only then, did she truly understand what our possible lose would really mean...
