"Vox I believe you have something to say to our lord's new fiancée" Camilla urged him forward.

I watched smugly as vox approached Lucifer. It's so satisfying to see that arrogant prick get taken down a peg.

"My lord-"

"There's no need for that. Please just call me Lucifer" the boy said kindly.

Vox's eyebrow twitched, clearly annoyed by the interruption "Lucifer I'm sorry about frightening you earlier and speaking so rudely of you. You're a part of the royal family and I need to start treating you with the respect you deserve. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me" he bowed deeply.

I smirked as Lucifer approached him. Go on. Let him have it-

"It's alright" he took his hand with a kind smile "you clearly care about this place a lot so I can understand why you were sceptical of me. I want you to keep up the good work, okay?"

"Grr" he pulled his hand away roughly before stomping away.

"My apologies for his attitude Lucifer" she bowed before following after him.

"Did I do something wrong?" He turned to me, looking upset.

"Yes" I reached out and stroked his hair "you showed him kindness when he was deserving of none of it"

"But kind words are supposed to make people feel good" he gave me a confused look.

"You're so naive" I sighed as I bent down to his level "listen dear you'll want to harden up if you're going to survive down here"

"Or I could spread my positivity and make everyone less grumpy" his eyes sparkled excitedly.

"Lucifer that's ridiculous-"

"Not listening. Too busy making the underworld a better place" he skipped off happily. I shook my head. What am I going to do with him?
