*Five years later*

"Do you think there's enough plates out here?" Lucifer asked as he and Marie set the table. He was having his whole extended family over for dinner. A bit of a hassle but I suppose it's good for marie to be close to her family.

"It should be perfect my darling and if it is not we'll get more" I rubbed his shoulders.

"Right" he relaxed against me before turning to marie "thank you for all your help today baby. You're such a good worker"

"It's ok. I like helping" she smiled sweetly "I can't wait for everyone to get here. Do you think my cousin's will come too?" That's right. Michael, Raphael and azreal recently became fathers which means Marie has more children to play with.

"They definitely will" Lucifer patted her head "you can take them to your room and play all sorts of fun games until dinner's ready"

"Yayyy!" She cheered. I smiled softly. She's such a cute little thing. Much like her mother.

"Godmother of the year has arrived" Rosie announced proudly.

"Auntie Rosie!" Marie jumped into her arms.

"Hello sweetie" Rosie held her tightly "don't worry boys. Dinner is saved" she placed a bag of meat down.

"Um that isn't-"

"Don't worry honey. It's just regular beef" she said cheerfully. Lucifer let out a sigh of relief.

"Alright my dear" I scooped up my giggling daughter "how about you help daddy with his famous jambalaya"

"Okay daddy" she giggled as I carried her to the kitchen.

*Time skip*

"Well that was a long day" I yawned "your family is as exhausting as ever"

"Well at least marie had fun" Lucifer smiled as he held our sleeping daughter "she's all tuckered out now though"

"Let's take her to bed" I wrapped my arm around him as we headed upstairs.

"There we go" he gently tucked her in "you coming to bed Al?"

"In just a moment dear" he nodded before walking away.

I gently reached out and stroked her cheek. To think I was satisfied living alone for the rest of my life. Now I can't imagine living without them. I guess mother was right.
