Alastors pov

I carried the young god down the dark tunnels of the underworld. We reached the river of souls. One of the souls reached out to grab him. He yelped as I kicked it back to the river.

He whimpered fearfully as he clung to my shirt.

"Don't be afraid my dear" I gently placed him into the boat "they can't get you in here"

"Okay" he looked at me nervously as I rowed down the river "sooo why exactly do you want to marry me? I mean we just met. You couldn't have fallen in love with me that quick"

I burst out laughing "h-hey! What are you laughing at!" His face turned red.

"My dear. It seems I haven't properly explained your role to you" I calmed my laughter down "this isn't going to be done out of love. It's a marriage of benefits"

"Why do you need to get married?" He tilted his head cutely.

"My advisor's plan to take my throne unless I wed by the end of the day" I growled.

"That sucks" he sighed as he leaned back "but what exactly am I getting out of this?"

"I'll get you away from your dismissive family"

"Not good enough" he folded his arms. He's a tougher customer than I thought.

"You'll rule by my side and reep all the benefits of being my spouse"

"I get to rule the underworld with you? That sounds important!" He leaned forward excitedly. That was easier than I expected! "I should probably introduce myself. I'm Lucifer, the god of spring"

"It's a pleasure to meet you my dear fiancée, quite the pleasure" I took his hand and kissed it.

"Your hands are so cold" he shivered.

"You'll have to get used to that my dear. Everyone's a little cold down here"

"Hmm then maybe I could warm you up" he leaned into me.

"I don't think so" I flicked his forehead "now sit down before you fall in"

"Meanie" he rubbed his forehead with a pout. Not the brightest bulb is he? Oh well, at least he's easy to manipulate.
